It’s a good day to skip work and head out to the ballpark. It’s opening day in Arlington. ***** Sometimes baseball imitates life. Sometimes your biggest fans say the most awful things to you and boo you from the bleachers. ***** We liked the 1974 front page format so much last week that we thought we’d do it again. If only gas was the same price as 1974. ***** I agreed to purchase a mid-size tractor from our pastor last week. It all started when he came to the house and knocked on the door and I didn’t answer. He left a note that had written “Revelations 3:20.” When I found it, I sent him an email that just said, “Genesis 3:10.” Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked." Some of that is true. ***** It’s the holiest week in the Christian faith. Palm Sunday was yesterday, and Good Friday is coming. Before our next edition we’ll have Easter services all over the country on Sunday. Christ is risen. Toby Soechting For the first time in over 24 years, the Howe Church of Christ has a new minister. Toby Soechting has decided to retire due to several factors including age, health, and a desire to possibly move closer to grandkids. His successor is Aaron S. Alsbrook who is now officially the new minister as Soechting stepped down officially at the end of March. “You never retire from the Lord’s work, but my circumstances in life made me feel like it was time to make the next step for both the Howe congregation and for my

Encizo, who resides in Celina, says it was a great opportunity for his family to be able to work and live in the same community. “The people of Howe are amazing, and we thank them for welcoming us,” said Encizo.

Grayson County Precinct 1 recently installed automated warning signs on Luella Road on each side of Choctaw Creek. During the heavy storms Monday night, they activated as expected when water went over the road. Apparently the flashing lights still didn’t get someone’s attention. Unfortunately, someone still drove through the high water and had to be rescued.
