Superintendent's report Howe ISD Superintendent Kevin Wilson discussed at the monthly school board meeting that the district's accountability rating which received the highest "B" ranking a school can get with an overall with a score of 89. "We're going to focus on that and try and break that 90 barrier next year," said Wilson. "I'm proud of our scores and we have some good things going. Through the process, we've identified several areas that we need to focus on and look for improvement." The score was broken down with an 88 in Student Achievement, a 91 in School Progress, and an 83 in Closing the Gaps. In comparison, the only nearby schools to receive an "A" ranking were Melissa, Gunter, and Van Alstyne. Wilson gave an update on Summit Hill's construction with the contingency remaining at $556,291 with very few changes. They are planning to add a retaining wall around the advertising billboard sign that they ultimately would like to have removed from the property.

The Intermediate and Middle School renovation was initially budgeted at $500,000 and went over budget by $17,000 due to adding the middle school gymnasium lobby upgrades to the restrooms and flooring.
