At the monthly Howe ISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday night, Superintendent Kevin Wilson announced that the district had 1,260 students which equates to 1,249 when the state requires prekindergarten students to be counted as half. Compared to the first week of school a year ago, Howe had 1,231.5 which is a growth of 18 students. The district had an

enrollment of 1,221, therefore, resulting in an increase of 28 students. The enrollment numbers generally increase until after Labor Day as students continue to trickle in. "We're not overwhelmed, but that's nice little growth from last year to this year," said Wilson.
