The scene Wednesday at Howe High School as both seniors signed their letters for each college. school. "The love for cheer just grew on me so I just decided that I really wanted to be a college cheerleaders so I went to a lot of clinics at a lot of colleges," said Hartsfield. She decided upon UNT after the first clinic she attended at that campus. "I fell in love with the program, the cheerleaders, and the whole atmosphere," said Hartsfield. "The town (Denton) is awesome and there's a lot of super fun things to do."

She's excited also that Denton is close and that her family can be involved. Hartsfield is already involved with the cheerleading program as she has to send in skill checks each week. Official practices start in July. The scholarships will start in the fall and continue each semester. She's also been involved in the cross country program and the National Honor Society.
