Howe's sales tax still strong Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced recently that he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $705.3 million in local sales tax allocations for April, 8.4 percent more than in April 2018. These allocations are based on sales made in February by businesses that report tax monthly. The City of Howe is coming off back-to-back months of recordbreaking figures to indicate that local spending is at an all-time high in Howe. For the month of April, how will receive $25,085 which is down significantly from the previous two months, but still the most for any April month in the city's history. The April total is up 4.53 percent from a year ago and the 2019 total of $131,128 shows an increase of 17.76 percent from this time in 2018.
