Ten Howe FFA members receive Lone Star FFA Degree

Photos by Karen Braswell Ten members of the Howe FFA Chapter were awarded the Lone Star FFA Degree during the annual Texas FFA Convention that occurred at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas the week of July 1115, 2016 . The Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest degree bestowed by the Texas FFA. The Howe students who received this 2016 honor were Mati Abner, Zach Braswell, Hunter Brockelman, Jessica Doty, Kamryn Fulenchek, Tanner Hartsfield, Brennan Ross, Seth Seibold, Josh Van Deren, and Cody Welch. There were 11 Howe members who attended the conference including Howe FFA teachers Tracy and Ronald Blum.

At Keep Howe Beautiful's monthly meeting last Monday night, they discussed requests for the Yard of the Month. Board member Becky Hogenson informed the rest of the members that she had been given several requests for the same home, 209 Walnut Street owned by Nathan Tillett.
Hogenson said that several citizens each cited how much work Tillett does on his yard and should be recognized for the hard work. To nominate a yard for Yard of the Month, contact Donna Wormsbaker at djwormsbaker@verizon.net.
