Hargrove and Streetman. The girls entered the "Angels in the Infield" tournament to start the season where they wasted little time racking up four wins against larger schools. Howe opened the season with a 13-1 drubbing of Bonham. Kayla Anderson went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and five RBIs. Hargrove got the win with two innings and striking out three.
Banker calls himself a situational manager and wouldn't label himself a small-ball or an aggressive manager. "I prefer everyone in the lineup to hit one out and not worry about anything." Howe beat Celina, 5-1 behind a dominant pitching performance by Stubblefield. She went four innings, striking out seven and allowing only two hits. She also went 2 for 2 at the plate. In the final game versus Farmersville, The Lady Bulldogs pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. The Lady Bulldogs scored on a two-run double by Payton Griffin which scored Hargrove and Stubblefield. Hargrove got the win, going three innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs. The girls start the season 4-1 and will enter the Van Alstyne tournament this weekend.
