forgiveness There is not one of us that aren’t sinners We all make bad choices from time to time Because of Adam’s disobedience, we all were born with a sin nature and need God’s redemption The moment we fall down, God provides His grace available to us We may face consequences for our sin, but often those consequences could be far worse than what we actually face Think about how many times you've made a bad decision that could have resulted in awful consequences like loss of income, injury, loss of a relationship, jail, or even death Think through all your choices and all the results that could have happened God's grace often keeps us protected from the worst case scenario
“Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow,” Isaiah 1:18
Isaiah was a great prophet His messages brought comfort to God’s people who were true believers He constantly reminded them of the covenant of grace At the same time, he brought a message of severe warning to those who refused to listen to correction of all sin being unreasonable. Sin is described as scarlet red in contrast to the stark whiteness of snow and crimson red as opposed to the whiteness of wool The Lord was calling His rebellious people to reason together, He did not call them to debate about was sin The Lord already had the answer which is grace and mercy for our sins
God's Grace is something that comes upon us even though we may or may not deserve it It’s God's goodness shining through the most difficult moments God's grace is a blessing we receive from Him, and something we should never take for granted and always thankful for God can use people to provide His grace to others and He does provide physical gracefulness, but when we talk about God's grace, it's more about the spiritual side of grace rather than the physical God is good about providing us with tangibles; friends, family, jobs, homes and even things we don’t deserve He also provides non-tangibles like strength and guidance We all face difficult times in our lives We all have moments when we need to make choices in our lives, and by His grace we are able to stand, we are able to make good choices and we are able to face any problem
Redemptive grace is what most people think of when we discuss God's grace, because it involves
God's grace should never be taken for granted While we trust Him and ask for His grace in the dark times, we also need to remember to be grateful for what He has done for us The sacrifice of His Son for our sin is the most significant demonstration of God's grace yet Spending time in prayer to thank God for all the things He has done in our lives helps our relationship with Him Yet, even when we forget to thank God for how He moves in our lives, He will continue to provide His grace no matter what God provides the grace we need the moment we need it He wants us to rely on Him today for today’s needs He wants you to know the joy of trusting Him day by day He delights in your daily dependants for Him God has it all covered and we don’t need to have an emergency stash of His grace
I am very conscious of God’s grace not holding me accountable for the mess I had made of my life When I came to God for forgiveness He wanted me to agree that I could not wipe away my own sins. It was not up for debate I needed Him What joy to enter the covenant of grace and experience the cleaning of the soul that coming to Jesus brings It’s when I say I can’t that God says He can It’s when I am tired and weak in doing things my way that God’s power peaks
“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me,” 2 Corinthians 12:9

One season ends and another begins Howe's Lady Bulldogs softball team should be no less talented than the basketball team that just finished their season a week ago The expectations are also as high as this team has their scopes set on Austin and a state championship In 2015, Head Coach Adam Rupert led this team to a region II quarterfinal championship and the vast majority of that team is returning and returning young Howe has a new head coach now, Glenn Banker will fill the lineup card and man third base

"Most of the starters last year were freshman and it was a lot to take in " said sophomore Peyton Streetman "We play on select teams so we all ready have the leadership skills and that made it easier on our two seniors (from last year) to not have much pressure on them "
Although this team is full of sophomore and junior starters, that doesn't keep Streetman from thinking that 2016 is the year to take the whole thing "I think it's a year we're going to go Last year we had a good run and I think we, as a team, know we could've beat Whitewright (in the semi-finals) and I believe this is the year we're going "
Streetman thinks the the playoff experience from a year ago was beneficial for such a young team plus the advantage of having a dominant ace pitcher in Torrey Stubblefield "It takes weight off of her shoulders to have us behind her on defense She doesn't have strike everyone out We've got each other"
Banker grew up in Tennessee and is a self proclaimed military brat He, himself joined the Marine Corps and upon playing fast pitch softball while in the service, he realized that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life Since leaving the military and entering the coaching ranks, he's had stops at Dallas Hillcrest, Greenville, Fort Worth Northside and has 339 wins as a varsity head coach (inclduing four now with the Lady Bulldogs) which is good for the top third of active coaches in North Texas
"I've had one week to work with the entire team since basketball ended " said Banker "There is a lot here Expectations are phenominal With the experience of Torrey (Stubblefield) and how far they went last year, this team has got the makings of going down to Austin "
Banker says that the team is not just continued on Page #9
