Bulldogs have coaching changes Howe Athletic Director Zack Hudson, who overhauled the coaching staff a year ago and said it was the best staff he'd ever hired has made some more impressive hires for the 201516 school year. To top the list, Howe has hired Whitewright's immediate past athletic director Wes Rhoten who stepped down from the position in December of 2014. Rhoten took the AD position at Whitewright in January of 2013 and was 5-16 as the head coach of the Tigers in his two seasons. In ironic fashion, Rhoten was selected by Whitewright as the AD and one of the other two finalists was Weimer's Zack Hudson. Rhoten will serve as the defensive coordinator for the Howe this football season. Before his stint with Whitewright, Rhoten was the offensive coordinator at Waco Robinson where they went 6-4 and 9-3 in his time there. He served as the head coach in Canton for one season, achieving a 10-2 record with an arearound loss to eventual three-time state champ Carthage in 2010. He had been Canton's offensive coordinator for the previous three years. A believer in the spread offense, Rhoten will find himself on the complete other end of the spectrum as current offensive coordinator Dale West likes to throw the ball only in pregame activities. Rhoten is an Arlington, Texas native who played receiver at Harding University. He will bring with him two daughters, one of which, Landry Rhoten, is an accomplished basketball player that should add even more firepower to

Rhoten will be take the coaching vacancy of Zach Wood, who took a job at Tom Bean. Along with coaching the defense, he will coach track and also serve as the assistant principal at Howe Middle School.

McAdams will also assist with basketball and track. Maci Wright has also been hired who most recently was at Blue Ridge.

Hudson also announced that Richard McAdams "She's a young coach with only a couple of has been hired to be the offensive line coach and years experience." said Hudson. "She coached replace the departured Buddy Adams who left volleyball, basketball and track over there. for the head coaching position at Ranger High She'll be our assistant basketball and tennis School. McAdams and wife Olga will bring five coach." kids to Howe, one of which is a junior girl and a freshman son. Kailey Hayward left to take a similar position at her hometown of Pottsboro.
