Bulldogs start district with 3-2 win Griffin Underwood had a pretty big day on Wednesday. Early in the day, he found out that he was selected to the first team AllDistrict basketball team for District 10-3A. Later that evening, he was the starting and winning pitcher of Pilot Point to start district play and pitch his first live action of the season. Underwood went five innings and gave up one earned run while striking out six and not allowing a walk.

Bulldogs go 0-1-2 in muddy GCEC tournament In one of the most rainy and muddy starts to a baseball season in many years, the Howe Bulldogs are just now getting to find some things about about their team that they would have already known weeks ago. With over 10 games cancelled, Head Coach Torrey Ognoskie used the GCEC Classic tournament to learn what he has. In the first game on Thursday morning, Howe's game with Pottsboro was moved to Pottsboro due to their field being less muddy. Starting pitcher David Crees was excellent in bouncing back from a rough first outing against Bonham. He struck out six and walked two over six innings. He gave up just the one run.

The defense was excellent behind him by turning a 6-4-3 (RossUnderwood-Harris) double-play to get him out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth inning, but otherwise Crees sailed along smoothly. An RBI groundout by Caleb Ake plated the 'Dogs only run. With a time limit in tournaments, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Howe's record ws 3-0-1. Howe took on Elysian Fields later that evening and were handed their first loss of the season, 5-3. Ognoskie went with Josh Griffin to start.
