- Park the machine as described in the section "Securing the machine".
When working on the fuel system:
- Place a recipient under the drain plug (arrow, Fig. 1). The drain plug opens when the draining hose is screwed onto the valve (arrow, Fig. 1) .
- shut off the engine and any auxiliary heating,
- Drain off water and deposits and discard without polluting the environment.
- secure the machine,
- Screw off the draining hose.
- do not use open flames,
- The drain plug closes automatically.
- do not not smoke.
- Fill in fuel through the strainer in the filler tube after having cleaned the strainer beforehand with paraffin oil.
Collect the contaminated fuel and discard without polluting the environment. Diesel fuel can damage the skin. Wear protective gloves or use a barrier cream. Impurities and water settle on the bottom of the fuel tank. This is the case especially if the machine is filled up frequently or regularly wih fuel from cans or drums or when the machine is used on sites with strong fluctuations of daytime / nighttime temperatures. The result is the formation of condensed water, especially if the tank is not full. At temperatures below 0°C, this water freezes and can no longer be drained off via the drain plug. For this reason, water and deposits must be drained off at the end of the workshift and the tank subsequently filled.
