Install suitable pressure gauge at the neck of the intake side of the pump. Check pump pressure. a) Switch on fuel treatment system (→ Page 93). The pressure limiting valve at the pump might respond and open. Audible noise is caused by overflowing fuel and can be disregarded. b) Close ball valve at the outlet of the fuel treatment system. c) Check pressure at the pressure gauge in the inlet to the fuel treatment system and note down. Check pump pressure with reduced suction. a) Reduce suction pressure of pump to -0.8 bar with the shutoff valve at the pump intake side. b) Check pressure at the pressure gauge in the inlet to the fuel treatment system and note down. c) Open ball valve at inlet and outlet of fuel treatment system. Calculate wear limit. Example: Measured value (normal condition).
