7 Check every time before operation

7 Check every time before operation Danger! Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. – Switch off the engine. – Remove the ignition key. 1. Check the procedures “Work to be done before first operation” – see page 22 onwards. 2. Check the procedures “Hitching the machine” – see page 29 onwards. 3. Check the oil levels in the gear drives; for this, the machine must be brought into the working position – see Working position with ISOBUS Terminal, page 58 and/or Working position with operating terminal, page 61. Oil level check – see Rotor drive, page 148. 4. Lubricate the machine thoroughly prior to operation – see Lubricating chart, page 176. 5. Check that all screws are tight. 6. Check the tightness of the wheel nuts. Check the tyre pressures, and correct if necessary. For tightening torques/tyre pressures – see Specifications, page 20. 7. Use safety chains to prevent the drive shaft guards from rotating with the drive shaft. 8. Check safety guards and tine guards for signs of wear or damage. 9. Mount protective devices completely, and lock them in position – see Protective devices, page 145. 10. Before starting to move, check the tractor and machine for any unattached items. Parts that could get lost during transport must be secured or covered. 11. Order all persons out of the danger area. Should anyone approach the machine, switch it off immediately. 12. Never allow the machine to run unattended. 13. Engage the PTO drive shaft only if the machine is in the working position, and with the tractor engine at idling speed – see Working position with ISOBUS Terminal, page 58 and/or Working position with operating terminal, page 61. Observe the max. permissible PTO speed – see Specifications, page 20.
