8.1 Hitching the machine

Danger!

When hitching the machine to the tractor, there is a risk of injury. –No person is permitted between the tractor and the machine. Any work under the chocked up swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. –Only use suitable supports or chocks. –see Prop stand, page10. Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. –Switch off the engine. –Remove the ignition key.

Proceed as follows to hitch the machine: • Attach the machine to the tractor –see Attaching to the bottom links, page30. • Mount the universal drive shaft –see Mounting the universal drive shaft, page30. • Raise the prop stand –see Prop stand, page33. • Connect the hydraulic hoses –see Connecting the hydraulics, page34. • Connect the electrical supply –see Connecting the electrical system, page35. • Connect the Terminal/CLAAS Communicator –see Connecting ISOBUS Terminal, page38. • Mount the control panel to the holder in the cab –see Installing the operating terminal, page38. • Connect the brake lines –see Connecting the pneumatic brake system, page36 or Connecting the hydraulic brake system, page36. • Open the shut-off valve of the rear rotors –see Opening the shut-off valve for the rear rotors (only applies up to Serial No. 60501857), page35. • Release the hand brake –see Parking brake, page37. • Stow the wheel chocks in their holders –see Wheel chocks, page37.
