7. Adjustment - open tailgate

7. ADJUSTMENT - OPEN TAILGATE

7.1 Opening the tailgate

–Switch on the machine. –Run the engine 2 minutes with low speed (300-350 rpm) to run in the endless belts. –Open the tailgate and run the engine for 30 seconds with full speed. –Shut down the machine.

Danger!

Always shut the engine down and pull the ignition key out before working or performing adjustment work on the tailgate and in the baling chamber.

–Move lever (M) to securing position (Z) to keep the tailgate open.

Note!

Lever (M) must generally remain in securing position while working under the opened tailgate or inside the baling chamber.

Measure the clearance between walls (E) and (F) and the outer belts (N) and (P) on right and left hand side. –The clearance between outer belt and wall must be at least 10 mm. Compare the measurements taken on both sides. –If the difference between the measurements taken on left and right hand side is less than 25 mm the adjustment is correct. (Fig.30,31)

7.3 Checking roller 5

Measure the clearance between wall and outer belt on right and left hand side. –The clearance between outer belt and wall must be at least 5 mm. Compare the measurements taken on both sides. –If the difference between the measurements taken on left and right hand side is less than 25 mm the adjustment is correct. (Fig.32,33)

Make sure the belts do not run onto the guides. –Contact between belts and guides is possible. (Fig.36)

Make sure that lower arm and outer belt do not touch each other. (Fig.38,39)

7.8 Guide

–If the guide is in good condition and all points 7 are correct, continue with step "9. Aligning upper and lower arms". –If the guide is in no good condition and one points 7 is incorrect, continue with step "8.Setting".
