Kirby Lodge will hold summer social on July 9
from July 2023
KIRBY – Kirby Lodge will meet Sunday, July 9, at 2 p.m. for a summer social. Games, including bingo, dominoes and others will be played. Members are asked to bring snack food to share and/or dessert. It is being held in the afternoon so members who do not drive in the evening can attend. Everyone is welcome.
The lodge welcomes four new junior members, Jerrel Quadir, Jerimiah Zamir, Aniyla Samiya and Jayceon Mathis. Thank you to recommender Fannie Davis.

If you missed the free bingo for senior adults (55 or older), mark your calendar for next year, Sunday, June 1. There were 39 people in attendance that enjoyed 20 bingo games and light snacks. This event is open to anyone and is held in the afternoon in the air-conditioned hall.
The lodge presented a check to the Kirby Senior Center as part of its Join Hands project. Some members participated in the 30th Senior Citizens Center anniversary gathering on June 10. Kathy Gomez, director, and David Barboza, president of the board, were very appreciative of the contribution to the Center. It provides meals and activities for local seniors in the area.
Agent Judy Schulmeier talked about annuities and said they are now paying 4 percent interest. Contact Judy or Agent Angela Netherton for more details.
Thank you to Ron Bitterly for help with the ceiling repairs. Insulation and new ceiling tiles were installed.
Kylie McQuatters celebrated her 16th birthday in June and received a gift card.
James and Carolina McQuatters celebrated their 40th anniversary on June 4 and spent the day at the lodge playing bingo.

The June attendance-prize winner was Tammy Haecker. The drawing for the $75 quarterly prize will be held at the next meeting. Anyone who has attend the April, May and June meetings will be eligible to win.
