Twin Sisters Lodge plans meeting in August

TWIN SISTERS – Twin Sisters Lodge will meet Sunday, Aug. 6, at 1:30 p.m. The meal will include cold cut sandwiches, chips, dips, ice cream and other desserts.

At the June meeting, President Marcus Ethridge presented a 50-year membership pin to Vice President Marilyn Weidman.

A moment of silence was observed for Alvin Knoll who died May 15, 2023. He was a longtime member and served on the Finance Committee. Members voted to donate to the Camp in his memory.

Board Director Stan Steiger gave an update on Hermann Sons Life happenings.

Marcus gave a report on the lodge’s Join Hands Day project.

Members joined with the Blanco Cemetery Association to help clean up the Blanco Memorial Cemetery in May. He displayed the certificate the Home Office presented the lodge for the project.

The lodge thanked Jerry Gass who mowed the grass and Maverick Ethridge who trimmed the high grass at the entrance.

Marcus read a thank-you letter from the Home Office for the donation made to Grief Camp.

He reminded everyone of the upcoming Hermann Sons Life Statewide Bowling Tournament July 29-30 in San Antonio.

Laurie Hartmann and Deborah Knoll gave reports on Hermann Sons Life dance recitals they at- tended.

Celebrating birthdays in June and July are Tamara Morash and Karen Steiger. Celebrating anniversaries in June were Rick and Marilyn Weidman, 52 years; Marcus and Jennifer Ethridge, 24 years; and in July, Steve and Georgia Hartmann, 56 years. Kaden and Ethan Morash helped draw names for the door prizes. The winners were Marcus and guest Nancy Faldek and they both donated their winnings to the Building Fund. Everyone enjoyed a fish fry. Thank you to Steve and his team for frying the fish and to everyone who contributed to the meal.
