Prinz Solms Lodge hosts guest speaker from CASA

BULVERDE – Prinz Solms Lodge will meet Sunday, July 9, at 5 p.m. at the Bulverde Community Center.

At the June meeting, Youth Coordinator Audrey Klabunde introduced this year’s scholarship recipient Brooke Gourley. Brook graduated from Ronald Reagan High School and will attend Texas A&M Corpus Christi this fall to studying dentistry.

Eloise Hudson, representative for CASA of Central Texas, gave a presentation on CASA. The organization is Court Appointed Special Advocates who are volunteers to help children in an abusive situation. The volunteers help as an interface with the court and Child Protective Services. Volunteers are always needed.

Jackie Oldfield announced tickets were obtained for members to attend the next STAGE production, “Grumpy Old Men” July 13-30. The December STAGE performance will be “Inlaws, Outlaws and Others Who Should Be Shot.”

Celebrating birthdays at Prinz Solms Lodge were Charles George and Casey Sobecki.

Members were reminded that registration for summer camp has started. Camp is for boys and girls ages 9 to 14. They need to be a member of Hermann Sons Life to be eligible to attend. The Bulverde Community Center Chicken Festival was held on Sunday, April 30. Members of the lodge helped cook chicken and serve plates. Members enjoyed bingo games and the opportunity to visit with friends.
