Deanville to hold July 4th celebration

DEANVILLE – Deanville Lodge encourages everyone to celebrate the nation’s independence at Deanville Hall’s 109th annual Fourth of July celebration on July 4 at the historic Hall. Barbecue plates will be sold from 11 a.m. to sold out. A raffle, live auction at 12:30 p.m. and bingo from 1-5 p.m. will be held.

At the May meeting, a silent moment was observed for Esther Emilie Shupak. Esther passed away on May 25. Sympathy is extended to her family.

The lodge will provide and serve the meal for the Caldwell Boys and Girls Club on July 7. Lodge President Donnie Blinka was awarded a certificate for being a runner up in the first Hermann Sons Life Leroy

Muehlstein Memorial Award for Agent Fraternalist of the Year. Donnie had the honor of being a lodge president during the time Leroy was Grand President of the Grand Lodge. Donnie always looked forward to Mr. Muehlstein coming to Deanville for the installation of the officers, awarding of pins or just for a visit.

Door prize winners at the June meeting of Corpus Christi Lodge were, from left, Kerry Ginn, David Garcia and Amanda Bainbridge pictured with Rhylie, David’s sister. David also celebrated a birthday. Members enjoyed a potluck dinner and bingo. The next meeting will be held at Nolan’s Restaurant on Wednesday, July 5, at 6:30 p.m.
