Cibolo Lodge plans meal, bingo for next meeting

CIBOLO – Cibolo Lodge will hold an officers’ meeting July 12 at GG’s Restaurant in Marion at 6:30 p.m. The next regular meeting is Thursday, Aug. 3, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Universal City at 7 p.m. Barbecued chicken from Harmon’s will be served and bingo games are planned.

The lodge celebrated Father’s Day at the June meeting. The drawing winner of a Bill Miller’s Barbecue gift card and portable car vacuum was Alvin Schulz. After the meeting, Bunco was played in honor of all the fathers present.

Sherry Rakowitz reported she received a thank-you card from Kathryn Schmoerkel’s daughter Debbie Parsons. Kathryn is now in a nursing home and her birthday money was used to purchase a new blouse.

Flag Day was celebrated on June 14 at Cibolo City Hall. The lodge provided snacks and water for all in attendance.

The adult attendance-prize winners were Brian Schnieder and Fay Fey. Emma Rakowitz was the junior attendance-prize winner.

Dena Warneke’s grill side salad was voted the best side dish and Sherry Rakowitz’s banana pudding was voted the best dessert.
