Harmonia to celebrate anniversary at July meeting

SAN ANTONIO – Harmonia Lodge will hold an anniversary meeting July 13 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Home Association. A meal by Next Door Catering will be provided. Members are encouraged to bring desserts.

The May meeting was postponed to June for members to attend services for long-time brother John Joseph Hoog who passed away on May 2, 2023, at the age of 75. He had been a member since 1968.

At the June meeting, the lodge celebrated the life of John. Trustee Mike Gumpp presented a Harmonia Legends plaque to John’s daughter Shannon Schnittger. Stories were shared by the Hoogs family and members. John served many roles for the lodge including serving as president and recently recording secretary. He will be truly missed. The lodge extends prayers to his family.

Harmonia Lodge President Rene Kraus, left, presented a gift card to Vice President Albert Ranzau at the June meeting. The lodge recognized Albert for his hard work in coordinating Fiesta parking in April and for all the volunteer work he and his wife Becky do for the lodge.

Harmonia Lodge presented a Harmonia’s Legends certificate to John Hoog’s daughter Shannon Schnittger at the June meeting. Presenting the plaque were Trustee Mike Gumpp, left, and President Rene Kraus. John passed away May 2, 2023, at age 75. He served the lodge as corresponding/recording secretary from 2006 to 2018.

The lodge celebrated the June birthdays of Jerome Kraus, Mike Beam and Ron Roberts.

Attendance-prize winners were Bill Witteman and Albert

Ranzau. Mike Warneke won the split-the-pot prize. Members enjoyed pizza from Rays provided by the lodge.
