SUP INTO SPRING!

Grab a paddle, step onto a board and let the waters of Kent carry you to places you’ve never seen.

If you’re looking for a way to connect with nature, get some exercise and feel a sense of tranquillity this Spring, then stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) might just be the perfect activity for you.

There’s something magical about standing on top of the water with a paddle in hand, soaking in the sights and sounds of the natural world and here in Kent, we’re lucky to have some of the most idyllic spots to try it out.

SUP might seem like an intimidating prospect, however, the reality is that paddle boarding is surprisingly accessible and rewarding.

Unlike surfing or other water sports that demand waves and specialised skills, SUP is versatile, low-impact and suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. It’s a fantastic workout for your core, arms and legs and it can even improve your

balance and posture!

The rhythmic motion of paddling can be meditative and is a powerful way to nurture mental health and well-being.

There’s something inherently soothing about the rhythm of paddling and the gentle lapping of water against your board. For many, SUP becomes a form of moving meditation, a chance to be fully present in the moment.

Just up the road, The River Medway is a treasure trove for paddle boarders. Stretching over 70 miles, it offers a mix of calm waters and gentle currents, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned paddlers alike. If you start your journey at Tonbridge, you’ll glide past historic locks, overhanging trees and charming countryside. If you’re feeling adventurous, pack a picnic and make a day of it, finding your own grassy bank, or even a public house along the way!

Leybourne Lakes is a freshwater lake in Aylesford that boasts a vibrant SUP scene, regularly holding lessons and meetups, which bring enthusiasts together. Another great spot, around half an hour’s drive from Sevenoaks, is Bewl Water. This is the largest stretch of open water in the Southeast and its calm, expansive waters are perfect for paddle boarding. Whether you’re practising your strokes, or simply floating under the open sky, they offer facilities for rentals and lessons - an excellent spot to start your Paddleboarding adventure!

On a calm day, the Kent coastline offers a unique paddle-boarding experience. Whitstable and Joss Bay are both hotspots for paddle boarders seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure on the

Feeling brave? Some paddleboarders venture into SUP surfing, catching small waves and a big adrenaline rush!

For the competitive spirits, keep an eye out for local races and events. The annual Medway River Festival often hosts paddleboarding activities and SUP competitions are making waves across the county.

Joining a group can be a great way to build confidence, learn new skills and explore hidden gems you might not discover on your own. Unlocking the Magic of Shinrin-Yoku

In a world dominated by screens, schedules and endless notifications, it’s easy to feel like you’re sprinting on a hamster wheel.

Shinrin-Yoku, aka Forest bathing is a serene and soulful way to swap the hustle and bustle for the whispers of ancient trees and the crunch of leaves underfoot.

Originating in Japan, where it’s known as ShinrinYoku, forest bathing is less about actual bathing (leave the swimsuits at home) and more about immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.

Shinrin-Yoku emerged in Japan during the 1980s, as a response to the stresses of modern urban life. Recognizing the increasing mental and physical health struggles of a technology-driven society, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries introduced the concept in 1982 as a form of preventive health care. Rooted in ancient Japanese respect for nature, Shinrin-Yoku blends traditional wisdom with modern science to promote wellbeing.

In Japan, Shinrin-Yoku is often guided by certified practitioners and the experience is often enjoyed in one of the country’s many forest therapy trails. While deeply rooted in Japanese culture, Shinrin-Yoku has gained global popularity, with forest therapy trails now established in countries around the world. Its universal appeal lies in its simplicity and the innate human need to reconnect with nature.

Here in Sevenoaks, with many lush woodlands and centuries-old forests on our doorstep, it's the perfect place to embrace this mindful practice. In our fast-paced lives, we’ve grown disconnected from nature and forest bathing is a gentle reminder to slow down and reconnect. It’s a way to breathe deeply, move mindfully and exist without a todo list, even if only for an hour or two!

Local Guide Yara is the founder of 'Wildeye Adventures'

and is a certified Shinrin-Yoku practitioner. She is passionate about leading forest adventures and sharing her love of the woodland. When you join one of Yara’s forest bathing sessions, you’ll be invited to step away from the noise of modern life and enter the magical world of the forest. It’s a chance to unplug, slow down and let nature work its calming magic.

It’s all about sharpening your senses, tuning into your surroundings, and letting the forest guide your intuition. With Yara as your guide, you’ll discover how to truly be in the moment, letting go of stress and soaking up the serenity of the natural world!

You can also try forest bathing alone. First, find a woodland or forest near you - many local National Trust sites, nature reserves and local woodlands are perfect for this. Choose a time when you won’t be rushed and leave your phone and watch behind (or at least on silent). The goal is to slow down and embrace the moment.

As you enter the woods, pause. Take a deep breath and notice the air, the trees, and the ground beneath your feet. Walk slowly, paying attention to your senses, including how the bark feels, the rustling of leaves, or the earthy smell of the forest. There’s no need to follow a set path or meet a goal. If you’re new to forest bathing, start with just 30 minutes. Over time, you’ll notice the benefits - reduced stress, a clearer mind and a deeper connection to nature.

The magic happens when you let the forest guide you and with so many enchanting woodlands around Sevenoaks, your next adventure is only a short walk away!

SPRING AWAKENS

Create a Vibrant Garden this season!

Spring is the season of renewal, and there’s no better time to embrace the fresh energy of the outdoors. After the long, quiet stretch of winter, the world bursts back to life with colour and growth!

For gardeners, both seasoned and new, spring is the perfect opportunity to grow a garden filled with vibrant plants. Whether you’re dreaming of a backyard oasis or a balcony brimming with greenery, getting started this season is simpler than you think.

First things first: healthy plants need healthy soil. After months of lying dormant, the soil in your garden may need a little love. Take some time to clear out weeds, loosen the earth, and mix in compost or organic matter to give your plants a nutrient-rich foundation. If you’re feeling ambitious, testing your soil’s pH can help you fine-tune it to suit the plants you want to grow.

Choosing the right plants for spring is part of the fun. It’s the season for bold blooms like daffodils, tulips and pansies, as well as cool-weather veggies such as lettuce, peas, and carrots. If you’re short on space, don’t fret – container gardening is a great way to grow herbs, flowers, and even small veggies in pots or vertical planters.

Once your plants are in the ground (or pots), they’ll need consistent care to thrive. Spring weather can be unpredictable, so keep an eye on moisture levels. Too little water can stunt growth, while too much can drown delicate roots. A layer of mulch can also work wonders by locking in moisture and protecting young plants from chilly nights.

Most importantly, enjoy the process. Gardening is a chance to connect with nature, slow down and create something beautiful. Whether it’s the sight of the first bloom or the satisfaction of homegrown vegies, there’s a deep sense of accomplishment in nurturing life. This spring, let your garden grow as a reflection of the season itself – vibrant, hopeful and full of possibility!

Sowing the Seeds of Spring

A little inspiration on what to grow in your garden this season!

PEAS, MANGETOUT & BROAD BEANS

Spring is the perfect time to grow peas, mangetout and broad beans, rewarding you with lush growth and vibrant blooms or delicious pods. Start by selecting a sunny, well-drained spot in your garden. Plant mangetout and broad beans directly into the soil from March to May, spacing seeds about 5cm apart in rows. For sweet peas, soak seeds overnight and sow in pots indoors, then transplant outdoors when frosts pass.

Support is key - use canes or netting to keep plants upright and thriving. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging. Broad beans and peas love rich soil, so dig in compost before planting. Harvest peas and beans when pods are plump and enjoy sweet peas for their fragrant, colourful blooms all Summer!

SWEET, SWEET STRAWBERRIES

Give your strawberries a head start for a summer harvest! Start by choosing a sunny spot with well-drained soil. If your soil isn’t perfect, strawberries thrive in raised beds or pots too. Mix in plenty of compost or manure to give the plants a nutrient boost. For bare-root plants, plant them in March or April, ensuring the crown sits just above soil level.

Space them about 30cm apart to allow room for growth. Water them well after planting and keep the soil moist, especially during dry spells. Mulching with straw or wood chips helps retain moisture and keeps the fruit clean too!

Strawberries are hungry little plants, so feed them with a high-potassium fertilizer as flowers begin to appear. Harvest when fruits are bright red, juicy and irresistible! Enjoy fresh, homegrown strawberries straight from your garden.

BEAUTIFUL BEETROOTS

Beetroot is a lowmaintenance vegetable perfect for spring planting in the UK.

Sowing seeds from March to May when the soil has warmed up to at least 7°C is ideal. Find yourself a sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Loosen the ground and mix in compost or general-purpose fertilizer for an extra boost.

Sow seeds directly into the soil about 5cm

deep and 10cm apart, leaving 30cm between rows. Water well and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Thin seedlings to give each plant room to develop.

Beetroot prefers steady growth, so avoid letting the soil dry out, especially during dry spells. Harvest when roots are about the size of a golf ball for tender, sweet beets...Happy growing!

HELLO TO HERBS!

Hardy herbs like parsley, chives, mint and thyme thrive in early spring, while tender herbs like basil and coriander can be sown later once the frost risk has passed.

For parsley, sow seeds in rich, well-drained soil, keeping them moist.

Mint is best planted in containers to prevent it from spreading. Chives

and thyme prefer sunny spots with lighter soil. Basil loves warmth, so grow it indoors on a sunny windowsill until the weather warms. Regularly pinch off leaves to encourage growth and prevent flowering.

Whether in pots, beds, or kitchen windowsills, herbs are an easy, fragrant addition to your garden and your cooking!

RADISHES

Radishes are one of the easiest and fastest crops to grow, perfect for UK spring gardens. Sow seeds directly into well-drained soil from March onwards, about 1cm deep and 2cm apart. Choose a sunny, light space and water regularly to keep the soil moist.

Radishes are ready to harvest in as little as 3-4 weeks, so enjoy their fresh, peppery crunch in no time!

SPINACH

Spinach is a hardy, fast-growing crop that thrives in cool UK spring weather. Sow seeds directly into moist, fertile soil from March onwards, spacing them 2-3cm apart in rows. Try a partially shaded space and keep the soil consistently moist for tender leaves. Harvest baby leaves in 4-6 weeks or allow them to mature.

Regular picking encourages growth, ensuring a steady supply of fresh, nutrient-packed spinach for your salads and cooking!

CREATE AN OUTDOOR OASIS

...& transform

your

garden into a relaxing retreat!

With the arrival of warmer days and longer evenings, there’s no better time to transform your garden into a serene outdoor oasis.

A uniquely designed garden can become a haven of relaxation and a perfect spot for entertaining. Here’s a little inspiration for making the most of your outdoor space!

1. Define Your Space

Consider how you want to use your gardenmaybe a quiet reading nook, a lively dining area, or a lush escape filled with greenery. Zoning your garden into functional areas, such as seating space, dining corner and green sanctuary, will help maximise its potential. Use planters, trellises, or paved areas to subtly separate these zones while maintaining a cohesive flow.

2. Choose Comfortable and Stylish Furniture

Comfort is key for a relaxing outdoor space. Here in the UK, opting for weather-resistant furniture is a must! Choose pieces that suit your style, whether rustic, modern, or classic. Add cushions, throws and an outdoor rug to enhance the cosiness. Hanging chairs and hammocks provide both comfort and a touch of luxury too!

3. Incorporate Lush Greenery

Plants are essential for creating a soothing environment. You could mix potted plants, hanging baskets and raised beds to add

texture and colour. Fragrant flowers like lavender add a sensory delight, while tall plants create privacy. For smaller spaces, consider vertical gardens or wall planters.

4. Light Up the Ambience

Lighting is crucial for setting the mood. String lights, solar lanterns and LED candles provide a warm glow perfect for evening relaxation. Uplighting on trees or plants also add elegance, making your garden a magical escape after sunset!!

5. Add a Water Feature

The soothing sound of water can elevate your garden’s tranquillity. A small fountain, pond, or birdbath introduces calm while attracting wildlife. A self-contained water feature is a stylish and easy-to-install option.

6. Embrace Outdoor Entertaining

If you enjoy hosting, add an outdoor dining area or fire pit. A builtin barbecue or pizza oven transforms your space into an alfresco dining paradise and a cosy fire pit is a perfect

addition for gathering with friends and family on those cooler evenings.

7. Personalise with Accessories

Your garden should reflect your personality. Decorate with lanterns, sculptures and even weather-resistant artwork. A mix of rattan, stone and wood enhances the organic feel of your oasis.

8. Make It LowMaintenance

If life is a little busy for maintenance, ensure your outdoor sanctuary remains stress-free, choose easy-care plants and durable furniture. Composite decking and automatic irrigation systems will also reduce maintenance, so you can relax and enjoy your garden.

ENJOYYOUR GARDENRETREAT

By thoughtfully designing your outdoor space, you can create a garden that is both functional and serene.

EMBRACING THE SPIRIT OF EASTER

...and celebrate Easter fun in Sevenoaks!

Easter is a time of reflection and gratitude, alongside chocolate eggs, fluffy chicks and the annual debate over whether it’s still too cold to leave the heating on. While the nation at large gets busy with egg hunts and hot cross buns, Sevenoaks brings its own unique charm to this springtime celebration.

Hop into Exciting Easter Adventures

Easter is a delightful mix of the sacred and the sweet with Good Friday kicking things off with hot cross buns - those sticky, spiced delights marked with a cross, which no one can eat without humming, "Hot cross buns, hot cross buns..." at least once. On Easter Sunday, church bells ring out, marking the resurrection and the official start of the annual chocolate binge.

Egg hunts are the undisputed highlight for families, with parents scrambling to hide chocolate eggs in increasingly creative spots while kids sprint around gardens, high on sugar and excitement. Of course, there’s also the time-honoured tradition of handing a slightly too extravagant egg to someone you’ve only known for a month, courtesy of every supermarket’s seasonal aisle.

Here in Sevenoaks, Easter feels a little extra special with numerous family-friendly events to a touch of tradition. Knole Park, for instance, becomes an Easter wonderland. Families descend

with baskets in hand for egg hunts that wind through the park’s ancient trees and wide-open spaces. There’s nothing quite like searching for chocolate in grounds steeped with so much history.

Local events offer a blend of tradition and chocolatey goodness and for those seeking a more reflective Easter, the town’s churches hold beautiful services. From the historic St. Nicholas Church to smaller local chapels, there’s a warm welcome for anyone looking to mark the occasion spiritually.

Easter is also about embracing the arrival of spring: blooming daffodils, lambs frolicking in the fields and that one relative who insists it’s warm enough for a barbecue.

If you’re planning on devouring hot cross buns, chasing eggs through parks or admiring the beauty of the season, a good Easter in Sevenoaks is one where you’ve spent time with loved ones and, of course, eaten your weight in chocolate!

If you would like to be featured in the next edition, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch by sending an email to - info@heartofsevenoaks.co.uk GET INVOLVED

EXPERIENCE DEEP TRANSFORMATION

with Conscious Connected Breathwork & Sound Healing

“In today’s fast-paced world, where daily demands can feel overwhelming, finding time to reset and reconnect is more important than ever.”

While awareness of the damaging effects of stress is growing, it continues to rise— and truly effective solutions are not always as accessible as they should be.

Local holistic coach Naomi Buff is changing that in Sevenoaks, offering expertly guided sessions that harness the power of Conscious Connected Breathwork and sound healing, helping individuals find peace and balance in an increasingly noisy world.

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a profoundly powerful and immersive experience designed to release stored emotions, expand awareness and create lasting transformation. Using headphones for an intensified journey, Naomi’s breathwork sessions allow you to access deeper states of clarity, healing, and empowerment.

www.naomibuff.com/breathwork

Sound baths are deeply relaxing, offering relief from stress, sleeplessness and anxiety by immersing you in the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gongs and chimes.

These frequencies interact with your body on a cellular level, calming the nervous system and restoring inner balance. Science supports these benefits—studies show that sound therapy can lower anxiety, reduce blood pressure and help quieten a racing mind.

A DEEPLY RESTORATIVE EXPERIENCE

Naomi also offers discounted sessions for teens, recognizing the growing need for stress relief in younger generations. Her special Mummy & Me sessions provide a beautiful opportunity for parents and children to bond while learning simple, yet powerful tools to ease worries and cultivate calm.

THE HEART OF ENGLISH CRICKET

Exploring Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Ground

The beautiful Vine Cricket Ground, also known as Sevenoaks Vine, is a cherished landmark holding a special place in local hearts!

This iconic ground is one of the oldest cricket venues in England and was given to the town of Sevenoaks in 1773 by John Frederick Sackville, 3rd Duke of Dorset and owner of nearby Knole House.

The cricketing legacy actually dates back to 1734 when it hosted its first recorded match - a game between Kent and Sussex, which Kent won.

In 1769 the ground achieved another great milestone: the first recorded century in any form of cricket. John Minshull, a professional cricketer and gardener for John Frederick Sackville, the 3rd Duke of Dorset, scored 107 runs for the Duke of Dorset’s XI against Wrotham. Minshull didn’t just make history by scoring runs; in 1773 he became the first ever player to be given out hit wicket - yet another first for this historic ground.

It’s thanks to John Sackville that the town of Sevenoaks inherited this slice of cricketing glory, as in 1773 the Duke gifted the land to the town, ensuring that The Vine would remain a cricket ground for generations to come.

The Vine’s connection to the royals doesn’t end there. In 1902, to mark the coronation of King Edward VII, seven oak trees were planted along the northern edge of the ground.

Cricketing Roots in the Heart of Sevenoaks

Sevenoaks Vine holds the distinction of being the first place in England where the game was played with three stumps instead of two, a change that would become the standard in cricket worldwide!

Unfortunately, six were lost in the notorious Great Storm of 1987; however, seven new oak trees were planted in their place later that year, ensuring the ground’s royal tree legacy lives on. The Vine is now the home of Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club, who compete in the Kent Cricket League, continuing to make history.

If you're a cricket fan, or even just someone who enjoys a good walk in the park, then Sevenoaks Vine should definitely be on your radar.

So, next time you’re in town pop by The Vine, grab a seat under the oaks and enjoy a match that’s been hundreds of years in the making.

JOIN IN ON THE ACTION

“Sevenoaks Cricket Club is a cornerstone of the town’s sporting history, offering players of all abilities the chance to develop their skills and join a lively, supportive community!”

Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club is a cornerstone of the town’s sporting history, offering players of all abilities, ages and genders the chance to develop their skills and join a lively, supportive community.

Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club has a long and proud history, with recent achievements including being crowned Kent Premier League Champions in 2014 and finishing as runners-up the following year.

The club fields four men’s teams on Saturdays, a midweek 100 ball team, a Sunday development team for U21s, a Friday night ‘Old Oaks’ team, two women’s teams and Junior cricket teams from Under 9’s through to Under 15’s, for both boys and girls.

In fact, many of their talented juniors go on to represent Kent in their respective age groups, making the club an important stepping stone for young players aiming to play at the highest level.

The club is all about community and their welcoming environment is for supporters, non-members and anyone who appreciates the game of cicket.

THE POWER OF THE PEN

(OR PENCIL) & A WANDER THROUGH THE TREES

Spring is the season of awakening. It’s also the perfect time for renewed creativity, to shake off those darker days of winter and let fresh ideas bloom.

Most of us spend hours typing away on a keyboard; a laptop, PC, maybe even a typewriter (I hear Tom Hanks is a fan).

But sometimes something magical happens when we pick up a pen, grab a blank piece of paper, and just...doodle. There is something about doodling, the feel of pen, or pencil on paper, that slows the brain, lets our subconscious go to work.

It allows the slow cooker of our mind time to breathe and our creativity to shine through.

Some might call it mindfulness, or like entering a meditative state; whatever words we chose to describe it, it works.

Something will come through; a new path or a trail of a thought that our busily tapping, typing fingertips have missed.

Whether it’s the right thought, or the right path, well, that’s not always immediately apparent, but that’s better than no path.

And that’s what happened to me last week.

I took myself off to a quiet spot deep in the heart of the Kingdom of Kent, armed with notebook and pen and I sat and scribbled. I asked questions in my mind, and let my characters speak.

The inklings of answers started coming through. Like those whispery tendrils of a dream, or a dream of a dream, that we can’t quite hold on to.

I still couldn’t quite grab hold, couldn’t find the right path, but I knew it was there.

So I put the pen and paper away, packed up my bag and went for a walk.

And then it happened. Somewhere amongst the trees the half-scribbled thoughts took shape. The path cleared and I knew, with absolutely clarity, the way forwards.

I knew my protagonist’s deep need. Her driving force; her goal. I knew what it was that will keep her driving her story forwards.

So, next time you’re stuck, step away. Pick up a pen (or pencil), a notepad and doodle.

Let the words, ideas and thoughts come through.

And, if all else fails, go for a wee wander through the trees.

Somewhere, out there, the path is waiting for you.

To understand what your dog is thinking, this is what their body language means:

• Turning away - dogs turn their head to one side. This signal is very common and generally helps to solve conflicts.

• Yawning – used either when a dog feels threatened, such as someone encroaching in their space; or excited such as having their lead put on them.

• Licking – a quick lick of the nose is an appeasing signal during social chats.

• Play bow - going down with the front legs in a bowing position can be an invitation to play

• Sniffing the ground – a frequent signal which can be anything from dropping the nose quickly to sniffing persistently for a few minutes

• Walking slowly – an insecure dog will walk slowly, speed often denotes hunting behaviour

• Freezing – in the stand or laying position helps to appease the aggressor

• Sitting down – dogs will often sit with their backs to their owner, especially if they have just been told off, in an attempt to calm the owner down

• Walking in curve – naturally dogs will approach another dog by curving around each other, walking directly towards them is threatening

• Smiling - either by pulling the corners of the mouth up and back, or by showing the teeth as in a grin

To really learn about how your dog is feeling we need to observe all these signals as a whole, right from nose to tail. By watching them you will start to understand far more than you were able to before, it is incredibly exciting!

WHAT IS YOUR DOG THINKING?

For species that live in packs, it is vital to be able to communicate. This aids cooperation and survival. Dogs use calming signals to communicate with each other and their owners. It is the language they know and assume it will be understood.

Dogs have about 30 calming signals. The signals are international and universal and all dogs have the same language. Miscommunication between owner and dog occurs when we do not interpret or even fail to recognise these signals correctly. This causes frustration, which may cause your dog to become aggressive, nervous or stressed as a result. If you are experiencing any problems with your dog, Best Behaviour School for Dogs are here to help you with training classes or personalised sessions.

One Couple - One Solicitor

Due to the emotions involved in a separation it is unsurprising that so many divorces result in conflict.

At ThomasHaywood we recognise that conflict is not good for the health of the parties or their children. It is better to engage in a process that can be concluded more quickly than going to court, where the settlement you reach is a compromise between you, rather than having something imposed upon you by a Judge who does not know you or your family. You will emerge from the process with a settlement that you

can both live with meaning that your overall experience of your separation will be better for you, and your children.

ThomasHaywood established One Couple One Solicitor as a way of allowing our solicitors to work with and advise couples jointly, providing legal advice to help you to resolve financial matters or arrangements for your children.

This new way of working comes after the implementation of the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act which allows couples, for the first time, to make joint applications to end a marriage.

Our process will identify your

individual aims and needs and then help you to narrow the issues between you, using our experience and expertise to create a fair outcome without the need to attend court. By keeping your matter away from the court process, it means that you can resolve any issues more quickly, privately and cost effectively.

If this process is not suitable for you, we will advise you of the alternative routes available. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Sarah Haywood on 01892 765013 or sarah@thomashaywoodsolicitors.com

NIGHTINGALE

Oh nightingale, I could never imagine you fail, At your beautiful song, I wish I could join along, Singing high and low, Following wherever you go, I could find you in the south or east, Who would ever describe you as a beast? I heard you can produce a hundred different sounds, You can fly, and I can’t even get off grounds, The way you sing is so unique, You remind me of a priceless antique, Nightingale, I’m sure I’ll see you again, And if I don’t, your voice will still remain…

SEE SPRING!

"Look. Close your eyes and look straight up to the blue sky, with here and there a cloud. Feel the sun shine on your face. The only thing you can see is the golden rays that flood past your eyelids and make an infinite yelloworange colour. Listen. You hear the chirp of birds who just hatched their eggs, and the response of their parents who are bringing them food. You also hear water. Water that is running down a little stream nearby. And if you can listen a bit more closely, you can even hear the sound of trees swaying here and there in the calm breeze. Smell. Let the delicious smell of cherry blossoms adore and surround you. Feel. Wiggle your bare feet in the slightly damp green grass. Feel the blades of grass which are trying to crawl between your toes, giving you tickles and making the smile on your face just a bit bigger.

Now open your eyes and see. See the beautiful mini lily-of-the-valleys everywhere. See two squirrels chase each other up and down an oak tree. See the trees which are full of buds. See a new beginning for everything. See spring!"

Schoolkids making fresh lemonade, ooh, but that is pretty sour.

Commuters rushing home from work, enjoying the last of the evening sun

Hoping that they get back on time, to maybe sunbathe and have some fun.

Having a spring in your step, feeling very vibrant,

Time for a spring barbecue, ooh, the meat is extremely tough, I’m glad I bought this trident.

Picnicking outside in the park, lots of food and drink

Sunbathing when warm enough, making yourself very pink.

Flowers breathing new life to fields

Colour, blooming tulips and daffodils and everything else that it yields.

Spring, that beautiful time of year

When everything feels better, for that we should cheer.

Spring is Here!

Trees getting greener

Breeze getting warmer

Sun getting brighter

Days getting longer

It’s Spring, Spring is here

Flowers are blossoming

Bushes are swaying

Birds are tweeting

Waking everyone up

It’s Spring, Spring is here

Children making noises

Out for play

The spirits are high

Everyone is in joy

It's Spring, Spring is here!

Spring by Chemmy R. White

Daisies and bluebells are jostling for space

Within all the plants of this beautiful place

Swaying and swinging in the breeze

Right down below the lofty trees

Vibrant and pretty and very demure

The most beautiful time of the year, I’m sure

Bunnies are jumping and skipping and hopping

Kids searching for chocolate eggs, never stopping Spring, the best time of the year, Is getting oh so very near!
