If you are more familiar with the terms duck hook, slice and shank, than baby fade, high cut and low draw, then just like me, it might be time to for golf lessons!

As a relatively high handicap golfer (anywhere between 18 - 24) I’m often frustrated with inconsistent rounds, where I can spend more time in the woods than Bear Grylls. I’ve spent countless hours watching YouTube videos promising to ‘fix that slice,’ or, ‘flush your irons’ with the results being to over think each shot and ending up getting worse, rather than improving!

So to try and dial in my swing for this summers golf, I went for a lesson with James McGilvray, one of Knole Park Golf Club’s PGA certified teaching professionals.

BOOK YOURSELF A LESSON WITH JAMES DIRECTLY BY EMAILING - MCGILVRAY_JAMES@YAHOO.COM

My major concern was that I would have my swing dissected and be forced to re-learn everything from the ground up; however, I needn’t have worried. Before even swinging a club, James started off by carrying out a thorough assessment of my balance and various range of motions (or lack of!) in the areas that affect a golf swing. By being scored in each of these criteria, he was then able to assess which areas need improvement and determine the factors that may be limiting the potential of one’s swing. This data is then used to produce a 30 minute workout routine on the Titleist Performance Institute app to be able to help rectify any limitations.

After then being filmed hitting a few balls (with a couple of shanks!) James was able to get an idea of my setup, grip, posture and actual swing.

“Success depends almost entirely on how effectively you learn to manage the game’s two ultimate adversaries: the course and yourself.”

Then, with just a couple of on the spot pieces of advice, my next few shots were already much improved! This video was then sent to me after the lesson alongside a comparison to a top professional’s swing with a commentary explaining what I was doing differently and how this was affecting my game. This sort of visual feedback definitely helped me understand where I was going wrong and how to improve my swing.

He asked if there was anything in particular that I would like to work on, so we made the short walk to the chipping green, where we spent the next 15-20 minutes working on some different types of chip shots. It became very clear that this is an area of my game that definitely needs a lot of work but with James’ advice and guidance I was able to understand what I was doing

wrong and what I need to work on.

James’ relaxed manner and technical knowledge was very refreshing and made the experience feel less like a lesson and more like just friendly advice to help improve my game.

Knole Park Golf Club regularly features in the top 100 ranked courses in the country and with the magnificent backdrop of beautiful parkland, home to the National Trust estate of Knole house, it’s easy to see why.

So, whether you’re just getting into golf, a mid to high handicapper like myself, or someone who wants to take their game to the next level, get in touch with James McGilvray and swing into summer!

A TASTE OF THAILAND

OUR HONEST REVIEW OF GIGGLING SQUID

Nestled in the heart of Sevenoaks, Giggling Squid offers a culinary journey to the vibrant streets of Thailand. With its warm ambiance and authentic flavours, this eatery has become a staple for locals and visitors alike seeking a taste of Thailand. We had the absolute pleasure of indulging in a meal at Giggling Squid in Sevenoaks, and the experience left us craving more!

Upon entering Giggling Squid, guests are greeted by a serene atmosphere which effortlessly blends traditional Thai elements with modern touches, creating a welcoming space for a memorable dining experience. From detailed, intricate décor to soft lighting, this beautiful restaurant exudes an inviting charm that transports diners to exotic lands.

Giggling Squid boasts an extensive menu showcasing a plethora of traditional Thai dishes, each expertly crafted with precision and care to showcase the vibrant flavours of Southeast Asia. Here’s what we tried-

We started our culinary adventure with their must-try Crispy Squid pieces, sizzling with spice and served with a delicious zesty thai herb dip. No visit to a Thai restaurant is complete without sampling a Pad Thai, and Giggling Squid’s Giant Butterfly King Prawn Pad Thai rendition does not disappoint. Stir-fried rice noodles are tossed with plump, giant butterfly king prawns, crunchy bean sprouts, and roasted peanuts, all coated in a luscious blend of tamarind sauce. The result is a symphony of memorable sweet, sour and savoury flavours.

Their truly indulgent Thai Melting Beef is rich, aromatic and bursting with flavour. The tender beef is cooked to absolute perfection in a velvety, creamy red curry sauce and infused with cha plu leaves. Served with green beans and sweetheart cabbage, this dish offers a delightful interplay of spicy heat and soothing sweetness.

On the side, we ordered a delicate jasmine rice, along with the The North Eastern Papaya Salad. The perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, with a spicy kick, makes this dish a quintessential Thai favourite. Brimming with fresh vegetables, this incredibly tasty dish is filled with young papaya, carrots, green beans, cherry tomatoes, red chillies, dried shrimp, roasted peanuts, and with a twist of salty umani flavour.

And of course, no Thai meal would be complete without a crisp, refreshingly cold Chang beer, transporting us straight back to the beaches of Thailand!

Throughout our meal, the service at Giggling Squid was impeccable. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From promptly taking our order to checking in throughout the meal, their hospitality is truly welcoming. Giggling Squid in Sevenoaks delivers an authentic and memorable dining experience. With its inviting ambiance, extensive menu, and impeccable service, this culinary gem is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Thai cuisine in the heart of Sevenoaks town. So, gather your friends and family, and embark on a gastronomic journey to remember at Giggling Squid this Summer!

An Interview with Life on High

Based on Sevenoaks High Street, Life on High stands as a beacon of wholesome goodness. With its specialty coffee and pro-plant menu, this cozy café offers much more than just a place to grab a quick bite – it’s a haven for those seeking nourishment for the body, mind, and soul.

1.Can you share a bit about the history and founding story of your café?

Keith ran a successful coffee shop in Hong Kong from 2013 to 2017 which drew customers away from the local Starbucks. The focus was on superior coffee and a community vibe. Anna was a frequent customer with her young children and a coffee lover. Anna, Keith and their respective families moved back to Sevenoaks at the same time and found there were many chain coffee shops. Realising there was a gap in the market in Sevenoaks for more a nutritious, pro plant and community spirit space. We first opened in August 2019. Katie & Carl joined later in 2020 with their 30 years’ experience in producing top quality food and our evening events were born out of our collective love of partying!

Life on High the name was influenced by the many restaurants in HK where the street was featured in the restaurant title. In the case “Life on (the) High (street).

2. What sets your café apart? How would you describe the atmosphere and ambiance you’ve created at Life on High?

The baristas are highly trained for months before they are allowed to sell coffee to customers. Our coffee beans are carefully sourced, we know where they originate from and the processes involved to reach us. We roast our own coffee locally so it is ultra-fresh. Our food has a focus on nutrition; the menus are crafted by Carl who was Michelin trained at the Connaught in London and ingredients are mostly locally sourced. Thought has gone into making the menu as inclusive as possible with multiple options for vegans, vegetarians and we offer many dishes that are gluten free. Our food is not simply heated up, it’s freshly cooked to order!

We like to promote a community and charitable spirit and we have a “Pay it Forward” board and we have held multiple charity functions including fundraisers for local Syrian Refugees. The other side is our fun party nights where we have our DJ Glen on the decks & free flow suppers which are great fun, alongside other great events.

3.Can you tell us about some of the signature dishes or drinks that customers rave about? What makes them stand out?

The one dish we haven’t changed too much is the Avocado on Toast. It’s still our most popular dish after almost 5 years, this is followed by our Brunch Crumpet made with Chart Farm bacon, avocado, homemade beans and poached egg on a sourdough crumpet. Eggs Royale is very popular too! Our flat whites are our most popular daytime drink and in the evening, Espresso Martinis using our own coffee beans and Margaritas which are a Colombian friend’s unique recipe!

4. Sustainability is high on your priorities. What steps have you taken to make your café more environmentally friendly?

We offer a plant based menu with as little beef and meat based products as possible and also offer plant milk at no extra cost. We separate our recyclable and non-recyclable waste, with the non-recyclable waste going to a local waste to-energy plant. We always use china cups, promote recyclable takeaway cups and 90% of the coffee LOH use is not packaged. We use glass for our soft drinks and avoid plastic where ever possible. In order to achieve net zero we purchased carbon credits to offset unavoidable emissions, supporting a Golf Standard Safe Water Access project in Rwanda.

5. Have you got any events coming up for this summer? Japanese Free Flow suppers, our 5 year anniversary party in September and Halloween on 26th October. You can join us every Thursday & Friday evening for cocktails and our very popular ‘Big High/ Little High’ menu! We also have a DJ every Friday.

6.Finally, what do you hope customers take away from their experience at your café?

An appreciation of quality food and coffee with a friendly service from our staff. A feeling of community. Evenings: Having fun and dancing the night away with a top DJ, without having to go to London and being in bed by midnight!  “Come and let your hair down and dance with us at Life on High!” Find out more by visiting - www.lifeonhigh.co.uk

ADD A TOUCH OF SWEETNESS TO YOUR SUMMER

Juicy, vibrant, and bursting with flavour, strawberries are nature’s sweetest indulgence. With their luscious red hue and irresistible aroma, these ruby gems are a quintessential summer delight. Whether enjoyed fresh off the vine, dipped in chocolate, or blended into a refreshing cocktail, strawberries tantalise the taste buds and nothing beats the taste of fresh Strawberries in the midst of the great British summertime!

FUN STRAWBERRY FACTS

• Strawberries are not actually ‘berries’. Botanists consider each seed on a strawberry to be a separate fruit. Technically a ‘berry’ contains the seed on the inside of the fruit.

• Strawberries contain more vitamin C than oranges.

• The fear of strawberries is called Fragariaphobia.

• An average strawberry has 200 seeds.

• The strawberry plant is actually a member of the rose family.

• In addition to red, strawberries can be pink, white, yellow and even golden-hued.

• Unlike some fruits, strawberries don’t continue to ripen once picked.

BETTER BONDS WITH YOUR DOG A Guide to Stronger Connections Heart of Sevenoaks: Summer in Sevenoaks 2024

BUILDING
Bonding with

Bonding with your Dog

Dogs are more than just pets; they are loyal companions, trusted friends and integral members of our families. Building a strong bond with your dog is essential for a happy and fulfilling relationship. A strong bond not only enhances communication and cooperation but also contributes to your dog’s overall wellbeing - not to mention your own!

Understanding your dog’s needs is the foundation for building a strong bond. Dogs thrive on routine, structure and consistency. They also crave love, attention and positive reinforcement. Meeting these needs lays the groundwork for trust and mutual respect.

Training and socialisation are essential aspects of bonding with your dog and exposing your dog to new experiences, people and environments can foster confidence and adaptability.

Trust and respect are fundamental elements of a strong bond between you and your dog. Being a patient, confident and assertive leader for your dog takes time and consistency, but the rewards are well worth the effort!

Below, we’ll explore practical ways to strengthen the bond between you and your four-legged companion.

1. Exercise Together: Regular exercise is crucial for your dog’s physical and mental health. Take daily walks, play fetch in the park, or engage in interactive games to keep your dog active and stimulated. Not only does exercise strengthen your bond, but it also provides opportunities for quality time together.

2. Bonding Through Play: Play is a natural way for dogs to bond with their owners. Engage in interactive play sessions with toys, balls, or tug-of-war games. Play not only provides physical exercise but also strengthens the bond by promoting trust, cooperation and mutual enjoyment.

3. Basic Obedience Training: Teach your dog basic commands such as sit, stay, come and heel using positive reinforcement techniques. Consistent training builds trust, en

hances communication and establishes you as the leader. Consider working with a professional trainer for guidance and support.

4. Positive Reinforcement: Use positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats, praise and affection, to reinforce good behaviour. Reward your dog for following commands, displaying desirable behaviours and obeying house rules. This encourages your dog to repeat these behaviours and strengthens the bond between you.

5. Communication: Dogs communicate primarily through body language, vocalisations and behaviour. Learn to understand your dog’s cues and signals to better communicate with them. Pay attention to their body posture, facial expressions and vocalisations to gauge their emotions and needs accurately.

6. Spend Quality Time Together: Quality time strengthens the bond between you and your dog. Engage in activities that your dog enjoys, such as cuddling on the couch, playing games, or simply being present with them. Your presence and attention are invaluable to your dog and help foster a deeper connection.

Nurturing Your Bond Over Time

Building a strong bond with your dog is an ongoing process that requires time, effort, and dedication. Nurture your bond over time by continuing to engage in activities that strengthen your connection. Exploring new activities can keep your bond fresh and exciting, try agility courses, scent work, or advanced training exercises to challenge your dog mentally and physically.

Uncovering the many benefits of woodland walks

We are very spoilt with the variety of gorgeous woodlands in and around the Sevenoaks area and embracing these areas can lead to a wealth of positive benefits. Here are seven reasons why being in woodland is so good for us!

1. Improved Air Quality: Woodland areas are often filled with trees, which release oxygen and filter out pollutants from the air, resulting in cleaner, fresher air for us to breathe.

2. Reduced Stress Levels: The tranquillity of woodland settings can promote relaxation. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the sights and sounds of nature, can have a calming effect on both the mind and body. The connection with nature can foster feelings of awe, wonder and gratitude, promoting a sense of belonging and interconnectedness!

3. Increased Physical Activity: Woodland areas provide opportunities for activities such as hiking, walking and cycling, which of course promote physical exercise and cardiovascular health. Engaging in these activities amidst the natural beauty of the woods can make exercise feel more enjoyable and rewarding.

4. Boosted Mood and Mental Well-being: Spending time in woodland environments has been linked to improved mood, reduced symptoms of depression and enhanced overall mental well-being. The peacefulness and beauty of the woods can help alleviate negative emotions and promote a sense of happiness and contentment.

Restorative Effects: Research has shown that spending time in woodland environments can have restorative effects on cognitive function and attention. Being surrounded by nature can provide a mental break from the demands of everyday life and help replenish cognitive resources.

6. Opportunities for Mindfulness and Reflection: Woodland environments offer peaceful settings conducive to mindfulness practices and self-reflection. Whether it’s sitting quietly among the trees, or observing the beauty of the surroundings, woodland areas provide opportunities to cultivate mindfulness and inner peace!

GARDENS OF SEVENOAKS

Discovering

beauty in the Garden of England

Discover more in Sevenoaks

Famously referred to as the ‘Garden of England’ by Henry VIII, Kent contains a vibrant countryside filled with rolling hills and woodlands. Nestled among which, is Sevenoaks, boasting its own selection of beautiful gardens with fascinating histories. Nothing beats being outside in nature while the sun beams down on us during the summer months, and the gardens of Sevenoaks have so much to offer as the warmer weather creeps in: from cafés, walks, live music, theatre and so much more.

1. Riverhill Himalayan Gardens

The secluded Himalayan Gardens are divided into several carefully curated areas with pristine lawns and neat flowerbeds. With plenty of benches, a swing and den-building woods, the gardens are ideal for a relaxed family stroll. Visitors can enjoy some pastries and cakes in the café before climbing the steps alongside a fern-covered rock garden, towards a (very) hilly viewpoint of the Weald of Kent, and back down through the undulating bluebell woods. The family-owned gardens were initially constructed in the 19th century after Botanist John Rogers bought the site. Since then, the Rogers have continued to maintain, and add to, the landscape. There are a range of summer events taking place in the gardens, including calming outdoor yoga classes for those wanting to unwind after a busy week, Open Air Theatre performances, and a series of crafting activities for days out with the kids. You might even spot the famous Yeti roaming the woods! The Himalayan Gardens suggest visiting in May to catch rhododendrons and azaleas in bloom, June for alliums and peonies, and August for roses and hydrangeas.

Events: Bluebell Festival (24 April – 6 May), The Troy Treasure Hunt (25 May – 2 June), Tiny Treasure Hunters (5 June – 30 June), Fern Festival (22 June - 23 June), Outdoor Yoga (various dates), Open Air Theatre (various dates), Art in June Exhibition (12 June –23 June), A Himalayan Summer Series (20 July – 1 September)

2. Emmetts Garden

Another 19th century gem offering views of Kent’s Weald is Emmetts Garden, situated in Ide Hill. This National Trust hotspot nurtures a range of plants with international origins. The Old Stables tea room is a great pit stop for those braving a walk along the nearby highest point in Kent, Toys Hill. The tea room has outdoor seating, and there’s a generous lawn at the front of the estate, so walkers can sit and soak up the sun before exploring the elegant Italianate Rose Garden or Wildflower Meadow. During the spring, when skies are blue and the plants bloom into vivid colours, the rock garden (to the right) looks particularly impressive, while in past years, the roses (below) have looked stunning during July and August. For those looking for some wholesome outdoor entertainment, Emmetts will be hosting a range of Outdoor Theatre productions between June and September, including Peter Pan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Five Children and It.

Events: Geology Treasure Hunt (25 May – 2 June), Outdoor Theatre: Persuasion (1 June), Outdoor Theatre: Hamlet (15 June), Music on the Meadow (14 July), Summer of Play (20 July – 1 September), Music on the Meadow: Medway Concert Brass (28 July), Outdoor Theatre: Five Children and It (3 August), Outdoor Theatre: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (13 August), Outdoor Theatre: Peter Pan (22 August)

3. Ightham Mote

Built in 1340, Ightham Mote has a rich medieval history and has housed 7 different residents before the National Trust took it over. A set of small, rustic gardens envelop the house and are perfect for a quiet wander, or a meditative break in the Enclosed Garden decorated with a cute moss pond and sheltered by gorgeous aged stone walls. The Cutting Garden displays flowers grown for showcasing inside the house, which is also worth a visit for its gorgeous wooden interiors and a peak at John Singer Sargant’s paintings. Deck chairs and benches are scattered across the spacious north pleasure grounds, so visitors can settle with picnics alongside a peaceful backdrop of small lakes and an over-400-year-old twisting chestnut tree. The Mote has a quaint and simple natural play area for the kids and will be hosting a Teddy Bears Picnic on two dates this year, including the May half term. In June, picnickers can even enjoy live music from the Biggin Hill band. For those who don’t fancy navigating the gardens by themselves or want to learn more about the site, the National Trust provide guided walks around the Mote with breakfast included! Ightham Mote recommend visiting in June and July to catch the sweet aromas of lavender and sweet peas, or between July and September for the best of their blooming flower borders.

Events: Guided Walk with a Ranger (5 May), The Great British Dog Walk (11 May), Macramé Workshop (11 May), Teddy Bears Picnic (25 May – 2 June), Biggin Hill band – Picnic on the North Lawn (2 June), Music at the Mote – The Dial Band (6 July)

4. Chartwell

Famous for being the home of Winston Churchill, the Chartwell gardens in Westerham will entice all history enthusiasts. Walking in the footsteps of Winston Churchill, visitors can see a garden wall that Churchill himself helped to build and appreciate an array of water features, including fish ponds, lakes, and a waterfall gifted from the 1948 Chelsea Flower Show. Together with Lady Clementine, Churchill initiated a long tradition of rose-growing on the site that has since been continued under National Trust ownership. As such, the estate is home to the second Churchill Rose, bred and developed by Churchill College in 2011.

According to Chartwell, the roses look their best around June and at the end of the summer, visitors can even buy apples from the orchard. For keen walkers who fancy working in a visit to two gardens in a single walk, there are mapped trails through Toys Hill towards Emmetts Gardens on the National Trust website.

Events: Big Westerham Walk (6 May), Unfolding Operation Overlord Trail – 80th Anniversary of D-day (25 May – 16 June), The Adventures of Jock: Children’s Trail (20 July – 1 September)

Amanda Davis at Liminal Connections shares insights into holistic mental wellbeing practices

Amanda works with people to support them through their experiences of stress, ancestral and developmental trauma, using holistic therapies including reiki, conscious connected breathwork, alongside her experience as a NHS Community Psychiatric Nurse.

Where do I begin with my mental health?

As a Mental Health Nurse and Holistic Health Practitioner, people often ask me this question with the hope of quick answers and fixes – a common desire in our fast-paced world.

Our holistic wellness is complex, involving many interconnected aspects of mind, body, and spirit shaped by our unique experiences and ancestral lineage. We store these experiences on a cellular level, and they can manifest in unhelpful or uncomfortable patterns of thinking, feeling, physical sensations or pain, affecting our overall balance. Mainstream

www.liminalconnections.co.uk

healthcare often treats symptoms without addressing root causes, perpetuating a pendulum of imbalance. Of course, the best time to work through a potential imbalance is at the very first sign, however we tend to carry on until the signs cannot be ignored any longer due to illness, exhaustion, burnout, or chronic discomfort which will not shift. This can include frequent avoidance, low moods, isolation, panic attacks, insomnia, loss of focus, or flashbacks.

At Liminal Connections, I support individuals and groups to explore the origins of their imbalance and integrate holistic practices with the most experienced and knowledgeable practitioners. By embracing change and stepping away from control, we navigate a non-linear path toward full being-ness and health. If you’re ready to begin this journey of coming back to wholeness, I invite you to connect with me. Written by Amanda Davis

Taking a moment to pause and embrace the soothing power of the breath.

Breathwork is a timeless technique for calming the mind and soothing the body.

One innovative approach to breathing for relaxation is bionic breathing. Bionic breathing, also known as coherent breathing, involves breathing at a steady rhythm of six breaths per minute.

Bionic Breathwork utilises conscious, connected, circular breathing and is a powerful holistic approach, which can be truly transformational. This technique synchronises the

breath with the heart rate, promoting a state of coherence between the body and mind. By practicing bionic breathing, you can induce a deep sense of relaxation, reduce anxiety and improve overall well-being.

Incorporating breathing techniques like bionic breathing into your daily routine can help you manage stress, improve focus and enhance your overall quality of life. So take a moment this summer to pause, breathe deeply and embrace the soothing power of breath!

Bright, Light and Full of Life

As the warm embrace of summer draws near, it’s time to bid farewell to the cozy comforts of winter and embrace the light and brightness of the season. And what better way to welcome summer into your home than by infusing it with refreshing and vibrant interior design!

Summer

interior design is all about capturing the essence of the season – light, airy and full of life. By incorporating these top summer interior design tips, you can create a welcoming and stylish retreat that captures the essence of summer. Here are some top, summer interior design tips, tailored specifically for traditional Kentish homes, to help you create a summer-inspired oasis in your own home:

- Bring the Outdoors In: Summer is synonymous with nature, so why not incorporate elements of the outdoors into your interior design? Consider adding potted plants, fresh flowers and botanical prints to bring a touch of greenery and vitality into your space. Natural materials like rattan, bamboo, and wicker also add a summery vibe and help create a sense of warmth and texture.

- Embrace Light and Airy Colours: Say goodbye to dark, moody hues and hello to light and airy colours, that evoke the feeling of sun-drenched days. Opt for soft pastels, crisp whites and shades of blue and green to create a bright and uplifting atmosphere. These colours will not only make your space feel larger and more open, but also reflect the natural light, making your home feel inviting and cheerful.

- Accessorise with Natural Elements: Enhance the warmth and character of your home by incorporating natural elements, such as woven baskets, rattan furniture and wooden accessories. These organic textures add depth and visual interest to the space, while complementing the classic aesthetic of Kentish country style!

- Lighten Up Your Fabrics: Swap out heavy fabrics like velvet and wool for lighter alternatives, like cotton, linen and sheer fabrics. Not only will these fabrics help keep your space feeling cool and breezy, but they’ll also

add a touch of casual elegance to your decor. Consider updating your curtains, throw pillows and bedding, with lightweight fabrics in summery hues and patterns.

- Add Pops of Colour: Summer is the perfect time to inject some colour and energy into your home decor. Whether it’s through bold feature walls, vibrant artwork, or colourful accessories, don’t be afraid to have fun with colour and experiment with different palettes. Bright yellows, oranges and pinks are perfect for adding a playful and cheerful touch to your space, while tropical prints and patterns can bring a sense of exoticism and adventure.

- Freshen Up with Greenery: Add a breath of fresh air to your home by incorporating greenery and floral arrangements. Place potted plants, fresh flowers and herbs throughout your space to infuse it with life and vitality. Consider displaying bouquets of roses, lavender and hydrangeas for a quintessentially English touch.

- Create Indoor-Outdoor Flow: Make the most of the summer weather by blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living spaces. If you have a patio or balcony, consider extending your indoor decor outdoors with comfortable seating, cozy throws and ambient lighting. Conversely, bring elements of the outdoors inside by incorporating natural materials, such as stone and wood into your interior design.

- Keep It Clutter-Free: Finally, embrace the minimalist mantra of “less is more” to create a clean and clutter-free environment that allows your summer-inspired decor to shine. Limit your accessories, declutter surfaces and opt for streamlined furniture and decor pieces that maximize space and promote a sense of calm and tranquillity.

The revival of vinyl has people ditching their Spotify playlists for a trip to the record store and we’re all for it!

Vinyl records are making a serious comeback with sales steadily climbing and no signs of slowing down. There's something undeniably nostalgic about vinyl records, and in a world dominated by digital streaming services, many music lovers are craving a tangible connection to their favourite tunes. Vinyl offers just that - a physical embodiment of music that you can hold in your hands, admire the artwork and cherish as a collector's item.

There's also a distinct sound quality that comes with vinyl that just can't be replicated by digital formats. Audiophiles will tell you that there's warmth, depth and richness to the sound of vinyl that you simply cannot get from a compressed mp3 file. Sure, streaming services offer convenience, but they often sacrifice sound quality in the process. With vinyl, you get to experience music the way it was meant to be heard - raw, authentic and full-bodied. Plus, with Vinyl, it's about the experience of pulling a record out of it's sleeve, dropping the needle and getting lost in the music!

CRATE DIGGING AT OLAF'S

Specialising in new and used vinyl, Olafs Record Store is definitely not one to be missed!

Based at 59 London Road, Sevnoaks, this fantastic music shop offers an incredible variety of stock and is a wonderful place to find some great records up for grabs. Plus, they also stock an awesome range of T-shirts, books, badges and more!
