Our first CBAfor 3rd-5th grade was this week.
● The LiteracyTeam will be scoring these with Instructional Coaches all day on 10/11 at Old Buda Upper in the Cafeteria.
○ Teachers should run the Extended Constructed Response Report and give the reports to their Instructional Coaches.
○ The data that the ICs bring back is what should be entered in Eduphoria by 10/16. Be on the lookout for goal setting and heat map documents from CBA1.These were updated and posted on the pacing guides and under theAssessment button on the Content Site. There is also a space for graphing writing on the new goal setting document.

● Dyslexia changes: The state ofTexas has made some significant changes to dyslexia instruction. Beginning this school year all students will enter the dyslexia program through the special education pathway.
● Dyslexia changes: We are navigating some changes with the new laws surrounding attendance duringARD meetings by our dyslexia teachers and/or special education teachers that are trained in Reading by Design. One of those individuals needs to be in attendance at all initialARD meetings and meetings where there is a change in placement. We are waiting for more guidance from TEAon this requirement.
● We have scheduled Program Reviews with all of you and look forward to our visits.
● Hays CISD is hosting a Dyslexia Parent Night at the PAC on October 26th at 6:00pm. All are welcome. This event is not just for our families of students with dyslexia. Please help spread the news.

● Fentanyl is a medication typically prescribed under the direction of a physician
● Fentanyl is typically given for severe pain and in some cases for anesthesia during surgery
● Fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine
● What can you do in the fight against fentanyl?
○ Know the signs of potential fentanyl overdose (pinpoint pupils, breathing difficulty, blue skin, lethary, etc.)
○ Know what to do if you suspect an opioid overdose:
■ Call 911
■ Administer Narcan if available
■ Start CPR if needed
