● G/T Liaisons for 2024-2025 SchoolYear: Principals, as you begin making plans for next year, please speak with your G/TLiaison to determine if he/she will continue in the position next school year. Please view the document found at THIS LINK and add the information for your campus. The current liaison will continue with their responsibilities through the 2023 - 2024 school year.

● Cluster Grouping for 2024-2025 SchoolYear (Presentation):

○ According to the state, a cluster is considered a minimum of 4 students. The recommended group size is 6 to 8 students. This allows for any students who do not return the following year. At secondary, students only need to be clustered in their identified strength area(s).

○ We will once again offer summer G/Ttesting. It will occur on June 3 and 4. I will send the principal an email with a list of the results by June 21. If identified, students will need to be added to the G/Tcluster groups.

○ Teacher lists - Principals add teachers to documents below by June 1. (Make a copy and share with cawleyl@g.hayscisd.net)

Elementary Middle School High School

● Elementary Principals:

○ Progress Monitoring Reports - G/Tcluster teachers need to send home progress monitoring reports at the end of the year. Please work with your liaison and teachers to ensure this happens.

○ StrengthAreas: In 2nd grade, teachers use current assessment data to identify strength areas for students identified as needing G/Tservices while in kinder or 1st grade. If there are multiple G/Tcluster classes in 3rd grade and higher, students can be placed in classes based on strength areas (minimum of 4 students). In 5th grade, teachers use current assessment data to review strength areas before students move to middle school. Parents will receive a notification via email letting them know about strength areas. If parents have concerns, they will contact the principal.

Informational Items

Summer G/TPD: As a reminder, G/Tcluster teachers are required to complete an initial 30 hours of G/Ttraining that includes Nature and Needs and Identification andAssessment. After that, teachers should complete an annual 6 hour update. Please make plans to complete your training this summer. Online and in person sessions will be offered. Check out the Hays CISD Professional Development Catalog at THIS LINK (G/Tstarts on slide 74) for more information. There will be multiple options available at Hays Con as well.
