Huelva se convierte en la segunda semana de febrero de 2024, de los días 7 al 9 de este mes, en el epicentro del hidrógeno verde a escala global. utoRevista.- ¿Cómo surge la idea de este primer congreso y por qué en Huelva? Francisco Montalbán.- El hidrógeno va a ser un gran protagonista de la descarbonización, en general, de toda actividad de la energía que se consume a nivel mundial. Hay que tener en cuenta que todas las actividades no se pueden electrificar y, en ese sentido, el hidrógeno puede ayudar mucho en el reto de la descarbonización. ¿Por qué en Huelva? Porque Huelva es el primer consumidor de de hidrógeno en España, con actividades como los abonos de Fertiberia o la refinería en el craqueo de petróleo tienen como base el hidrógeno y el amoniaco verde. Por tanto, las industrias del polo químico de Huelva consumen el mencionado 30% También es muy importante que este congreso está promovido por la Federación Onubense de Huelva (FOE), Federación Onubense de Huelva, entidad empresarial a la que está ligada la IQB, la asociación de industria química y básica de Huelva, en la que se engloba todo el polígono industrial

utoRevista.- How did the idea of this first congress come about and why in Huelva? Francisco Montalbán.- Hydrogen is going to be a major player in the decarbonisation, in general, of all energy activity consumed worldwide. We must bear in mind that not all activities can be electrified and, in this sense, hydrogen can help a lot in the challenge of decarbonisation. Why in Huelva? Because Huelva is the leading consumer of hydrogen in Spain, with activities such as Fertiberia’s fertilisers or the oil cracking refinery based on hydrogen and green ammonia. Therefore, the industries of the Huelva chemical pole consume the aforementioned 30% of hydrogen.
