Il grande golf arriva a Roma. Si tratta della Ryder Cup, uno degli eventi sportivi più attesi, importanti e visti al mondo. Sbarca per la prima volta nella Capitale, che si prepara a questo appuntamento da quasi otto anni, da quando ne ha ottenuto l’assegnazione. Saranno presenti i migliori atleti di tutto il mondo, italiani compresi, e una folla di appassionati provenienti da tutta Europa e dagli Stati Uniti. Per questo GATE ha voluto dedicare a questa storica manifestazione la copertina e un lungo articolo-guida per presentare l’evento e indurvi a gustarlo. Si tratta di un’edizione un po’ speciale questa di GATE, che non dimentica certo la sua “mission” principale che è quella turistica legata ai viaggi aerei.

Il pellegrinaggio verso la Cattedrale iberica è adatto per essere percorso da soli, in gruppo o in coppia, a piedi, in bicicletta, a cavallo o in barca a vela; questi sono i mezzi consentiti e riconosciuti per ottenere la Compostela, il documento che attesta la fine del pellegrinaggio, e ognuno offre un’esperienza unica e diversa.

Great golf arrives in Rome. This is the Ryder Cup, one of the most anticipated, important and seen sporting events in the world. With one exception: for once, we’re offering you something really different, a small but big undertaking that many are planning for this month of September: walking the Camino de Santiago slowly and on foot. From page 26 you will find all the information to get organised, inform yourself and then try your hand at this mystical and extraordinary undertaking. The pilgrimage to the Iberian Cathedral can be done alone, in a group or in pairs, on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by sailboat; these are the permitted and recognized means of obtaining the Compostela, the document certifying the end of the pilgrimage, and each one offers a unique and different experience.

Grande appassionato di anatomia ha pubblicato diversi articoli scientifici soprattutto per quanto riguarda il volto che da sempre lo affascina in modo particolare. Questa sua passione lo ha portato a continuare questo suo percorso di studio e ricerca per rimanere sempre aggiornato sulle ultime tendenze e tecnologie nel campo della medicina e della Chirurgia Plastica, Estetica e Ricostruttiva. Spesso viaggia all’estero per tenere corsi e workshop come key opinion leader di tecniche chirurgiche in tutto il mondo. Partecipare a conferenze nazionali e internazionali mettendo in discussione le proprie esperienze e tecniche chirugiche gli ha dato la possibilità di crescere professionalmente confrontandosi con i più grandi professionisti di tutto il mondo. Luciano Lanfranchi oltre ad essere un chirurgo plastico affermato ha studiato canto lirico al conservatorio di Buenos Aires per oltre dieci anni. Proprio grazie alla musica ha imparato cosa fossero disciplina, sacrificio e dedizione per lo studio e la ricerca. la musica classica gli ha permesso di capire quanto bellezza ed armonia siano complementari nel mondo della musica come dell’arte e della estetica.

Dott. Lanfranchi , quale aspetto ritiene più importante nella sua professione?

Il compito più importante di un chirurgo plastico è quello di ascoltare il suo paziente aiutandolo a trovare una soluzione al suo problema spiegando in modo chiaro e comprensibile tutti i benefici, vantaggi, limiti e possibili complicazioni di un intervento chirurgico sia estetico che riconstruttivo. Ecco perchè la prima visita è il momento più importante perchè solo attraverso il dialogo, il confronto e l’ascolto è possibile valutare attentamente le condizioni di partenza di un paziente e definire il percorso chirurgico e/o medico più idoneo.

Quale evoluzione ha avuto la chirurgia plastica in questi anni?

I trend sono cambiati negli ultimi anni grazie alle innovazioni nel campo della medicina estetica e rigenerativa. Soprattutto oggi, oltre a riuscire a rallentare i processi d’invec-

Dr. Lanfranchi, what aspect do you consider most important in your profession?

The most important task of a plastic surgeon is to listen to his patient in order to help them find a solution to a problem and by explaining in a clear and understandable way all the benefits, advantages, limitations and possible complications of both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. This is why the first visit is the most important moment because only through dialogue, discussion and listening is it possible to carefully evaluate a patient’s starting conditions and define the most suitable surgical and/or medical path.

What evolution has plastic surgery had in recent years?

Trends have changed in recent years thanks to innovations in the field of aesthetic and regenerative medicine. Especially today, in addition to being able to slow down the aging process, we can promote the restoration of harmonious shapes by respecting the peculiar traits of each person, even in a non-invasive way through new technologies and aesthetic medicine treatments. This allows me to bring into play all my applied surgical and anatomical experience.

Cosa la entusiasma del suo lavoro?

Amo il fatto che sia in continua evoluzione. Avere la possibilità di fare ricerca è molto stimolante. Poter studiare e trattare pazienti di ogni parte del mondo con tratti psicosomatici diversi e adattare tecniche di medicina e chirurgia estetica e ricostruttiva credo sia entusiasmante e allo stesso tempo sia il segreto per crescere professionalmente senza mai perdere passione per questo lavoro.

La sua passione per la musica centra qualcosa con la sua visione di bellezza e armonia?

Il primo approccio che ho avuto con armonia e bellezza è stato in giovane età grazie alla musica, già alle prime lezioni di canto. Dopo tanti anni di studio sono arrivato alla conclusione che un grande musicista per saper comporre deve avere ben chiaro il concetto di complementarietà di bellezza e armonia altrimenti non sarebbe mai in grado di produrre una musica ma solo un gran frastuono. Per questo non smetterò mai di pensare che la bellezza non è altro che una composizione armoniosa fatta di ogni singolo particolare che caratterizza ognuno di noi, tenendo in considerazione che l’obbiettivo principale e quello di cercare, creare ed esaltare la miglior versione di noi stessi.

What excites you about his work?

I love that it’s constantly evolving. Having the opportunity to do research is very stimulating. I believe that being able to study and treat patients from all over the world with different psychosomatic traits and adapt aesthetic and reconstructive medicine and surgery techniques is exciting and at the same time the secret to growing professionally without ever losing passion for this work.

Does your passion for music have anything to do with your vision of beauty and harmony?

The first approach I had with harmony and beauty was at a young age in my first singing lessons, thanks to music. After many years of study I have come to the conclusion that in order to know how to compose, a great musician must have a very clear concept of the complementarity of beauty and harmony. Otherwise he would never be able to produce music but instead only noise. For this reason I will never stop thinking that beauty is nothing more than a harmonious composition made up of every single detail that characterizes each of us, taking into consideration that the main objective is to seek, create and enhance the best version of ourselves.

Luciano Lanfranchi has worked at the most important hospital facilities in Milan such as the Galeazzi Institute, the San Donato polyclinic, the San Raffaele Institute and in France at Policlinique de Gentilly and in Luxembourg at La Clinica Kirchberg. He has been licensed to practice in the United Arab Emirates since 2013 (DHA) where he often goes to operate and treat patients who require his expertise at the “Kincare Medical Center” clinic and the “Saudi German Hospital”. He works in the best healthcare facilities and at his studio on Via Palestro 20 in the center of Milan.

Temperatura e umidità stabiliti e sistema di depurazione e filtraggio all’avanguardia per quei tempi, l’acqua si conservava perfettamente e in purezza, mescolando quanto fornito dalla pioggia e quanto da alcune piccole sorgenti, per poi essere incanalata in una unica condotta di piombo che riforniva l’intero acquedotto urbano. Insomma un ennesimo miracolo della sapienza ingegneristica idraulica degli antichi romani.

THE WONDERFUL TANKS OF FERMO

Alle volte per andare indietro nel tempo è necessario scendere, e molto, nel sottosuolo, attraversando i tanti strati che la storia ha sovrapposto nelle località abitate da secoli. Tra i tanti, è il caso di Fermo, borgo italiano noto soprattutto per lo stato perfetto del suo centro storico medievale e rinascimentale. Ma già ai tempi degli antichi romani il colle dove sorge era abitato da civili e milizie stanziali. La media altitudine creò fin da subito il problema di come garantire un imponente approvvigionamento di acqua, sicura, potabile e costante nella quantità.

Era dunque obbligatorio ricorrere alla conservazione dell’acqua piovana da raccogliere in grandi cisterne sotterranee. Furono realizzate oltre duemila anni fa a cavallo del primo secolo avanti Cristo e il primo secolo dopo Cristo. Visitabili grazie a un percorso realizzato nel riordino del sistema museale della città, ricca anche di reperti di tombe e di un teatro. Si tratta di ben trenta enormi locali perfettamente conservati, che hanno svolto il loro ruolo nella distribuzione idrica fermana fino al secolo scorso, dopo la pausa della seconda guerra mondiale, durante la quale ospitarono la popolazione per ripararla dai bombardamenti.

Estese complessivamente per 2.200 metri quadrati, con volte originali alte fino a tre metri, sono perfettamente conservate, con tanto di intonaco impermeabile originale in-

Among the many, this is the case of Fermo, an Italian village known above all for the perfect state of its medieval and Renaissance historical centre. But already in ancient Roman times the hill where it stands was inhabited by civilians and permanent militias. The medium altitude immediately created the problem of how to guarantee an impressive supply of water, safe, drinkable and constant in quantity. It was therefore mandatory to resort to the conservation of rainwater to be collected in large underground cisterns. They were built over two thousand years ago between the first century BC and the first century after Christ. They can be visited thanks to a path created in the reorganization of the city’s museum system, also rich in finds from tombs and a theatre.

DOPO SPAGNA E FRANCIA

Franco Chimenti, presidente della Federazione Italiana Golf, ha sottolineato come “la Ryder Cup a Roma è la realtà che supera l’immaginazione”. E probabilmente non ha esagerato. HOW TO GET ORGANIZED BEFORE LEAVING

LE DIFFICOLTÀ DA AFFRONTARE

Lungo il pellegrinaggio a Santiago sono diversi i riti fatti dai pellegrini, come quello più famoso di depositare una pietra per lasciarsi alle spalle i peccati commessi alla Cruz de Hierro o come purificarsi con un bagno a Finisterra, o ancora, ricevere la benedizione del pellegrino prima della partenza. Oltre al fatto di camminare almeno 5 o 6 ore al giorno, parte della difficoltà di percorrere il Cammino di Santiago deriva dai dislivelli presenti lungo il percorso. In generale il dislivello del Cammino di Santiago è compreso tra 300 e 500 metri. Nello specifico, sul Cammino Francese si registra un dislivello medio di 321 metri, e sul Cammino Portoghese si registra un dislivello medio di 278 metri.

Alcuni percorsi sono tra i campi, altri attraversano piccoli vigneti e altri ancora si trovano nei boschi. Altri sono su strade locali, che collegano città e villaggi più piccoli. Di solito sono abbastanza tranquille e dispongono di percorsi

THE DIFFICULTIES YOU WILL FACE

Along the pilgrimage to Santiago there are various rites performed by pilgrims, such as the most famous one of depositing a stone to leave behind the sins committed in the Cruz de Hierro or how to purify oneself with a bath in Finisterra, or again, receiving the pilgrim’s blessing before of departure.

In addition to walking at least 5 or 6 hours a day, part of the difficulty of following the Camino de Santiago comes from the differences in height along the way. In general, the altitude difference of the Camino de Santiago is between 300 and 500 meters.

Specifically, on the French Way there is an average difference in altitude of 321 metres, and on the Portuguese Way there is an average difference in altitude of 278 metres.

Some routes are between fields, others go through small vineyards and still others are in the woods. Others are on local roads, connecting smaller towns and villages. They are usually quite quiet and have dedicated walking paths. As the ascent/descent becomes steeper, you will encounter more rugged terrain with stones and rocks. L’ultima tappa del cammino di Santiago ha come punto di arrivo la città di Santiago de Compostela, ovvero la Cattedrale dedicata a San Giacomo il Maggiore situata a Praza do Obradoiro. L’arrivo in piazza è sempre un’emozione grandissima e lì troverete molti pellegrini giunti come voi alla meta.

Qui uno dei riti più antichi della Cattedrale di Santiago è l’apertura della Porta Santa. Situata nella Plaza de la Quintana, la Puerta Santa conduce il pellegrino direttamente all’Altare Maggiore, dove si trova la tomba dell’Apostolo. Abbracciare la scultura dell’Apostolo Santiago è uno dei grandi riti del pellegrino, così come la partecipazione alla Messa del Pellegrino, una cerimonia in cui i pellegrini vengono accolti con la lettura dei nomi che sono arrivati a Santiago nelle ultime 24 ore, la loro nazionalità e il luogo di partenza. Uno dei momenti più attesi della Messa del Pellegrino è assistere al volo del botafumeiro, il grande incensiere che vola sulla navata centrale della Cattedrale. Once in Santiago de Compostela, you usually stay at least for one night, in order to be able to rest, visit the city and then leave calmly. In the periods from May to September it is always advisable to book a bed in order to arrive without the anxiety of having to find a bed.

Per tornare in Italia dopo aver terminato il Cammino di Santiago la soluzione migliore è quella di prendere un volo dall’aeroporto di Santiago de Compostela che offre diverse soluzioni per le principali località italiane.

Anche in Valtellina le proposte e le iniziative di fine estate e autunno sono numerose e adatte ad ogni preferenza di viaggio. La festa si svolge in mattinata con la sfilata di mucche, capre e pecore tra le strade di Valdidentro, accompagnate dai loro allevatori che ambiscono al premio “Regina della Bronza”. La giornata prevede anche giochi e didattica per bambini, prove di mungitura a mano e, in serata, cena e balli tradizionali.

A metà ottobre va invece in scena “La Mi ğiondàra”, l’evento che celebra la tradizione della castagnata e dei sapori d’autunno. Migiondo, frazione di Sondalo e borgo rurale che rimanda alla vita contadina, organizza una piacevole passeggiata tra le suggestive selve di castagne, i vicoli e gli scorci suggestivi, scandita da degustazioni di prodotti tipici. Le tappe saranno alternate con momenti di intrattenimento lungo il percorso: giochi e laboratori per i bambini, visita guidata alla Chiesa di Migiondo e intrattenimento musicale.

EGITTO

Il Ras Mohammed National Park si estende nella parte meridionale della Penisola del Sinai: è l’unico parco nazionale egiziano. Sul lato che si affaccia sul Mar Rosso troverete più di 20 splendidi siti perfetti per le immersioni.

A due passi da Sharm el Sheikh nuoterete accanto a pesci coloratissimi. Gite di un giorno partono alla SS Thistlegorm, allo Stretto di Tiran, alla SS Dunraven e anche a Dahab. Sono disponibili anche immersioni dalla riva per coloro che preferiscono. Anche Marsa Alam, piccola città sulla costa del Mar Rosso, è particolarmente apprezzata dai subacquei: non solo è possibile fare immersioni e snorkeling in aree in gran parte incontaminate, ma c’è anche una varietà esotica di vita marina.

L’area al largo della spiaggia di Marsa Murena è famosa per le tartarughe marine e i dugonghi che vi abitano e al largo, si può avere la fortuna di incontrare banchi di delfini nella barriera corallina chiamata “Dolphin House”, Shaab Samadai.

Per i subacquei più avventurosi, poi, c’è anche un sistema di grotte nascoste sott’acqua e un relitto di nave da esplorare.

Gli altri punti più spettacolari si trovano a 30 metri. Nonostante la minima difficoltà delle immersioni, le isole della Tanzania regalano esperienze spettacolari anche ai sub più esperti. Un’azienda a gestione familiare che si rinnova con il rebranding. Un percorso di 45 anni di storia fatto di sacrifici, duro lavoro, ma anche di grandi soddisfazioni

Durante la settimana della moda maschile del mese di giugno sono state davvero tante le novità presentate dagli stilisti e dai brand della moda, come non citare il ritorno della giacca destrutturata di Giorgio Armani, oppure gli abiti e camice in lino di Zegna o la visione eterea di un uomo fluido di Prada, ma Milano non è soltanto sfilate ma anche presentazioni di brand che raccontano la loro visione e la loro storia, tra questi ci soffermiamo su una presentazione avvenuta nel fantastico contesto della Triennale di Milano del brand maschile Lardini, un marchio che quest’anno celebra i suoi primi 45 anni all’insegna del ben fatto e della sartorialità.

Azienda fondata nel 1978 dai 4 fratelli Andrea, Luigi, Lorena e Annarita che detengono ognuno lo stesso numero di quote, ognuno con un ruolo di spicco all’interno del contesto societario. La Lardini è stata capace in questi anni di saper rinnovare la propria immagine mantenendo salda la propria storia, da sempre coltiva la cultura della sartoria e stagione dopo stagione la fa evolvere, anno dopo anno conquista non solo il mercato italiano dove ha anche un negozio monomarca a Milano nel quadrilatero della moda, ma poco per volta invade l’intero globo con un’accelerazione sui mercati giapponesi e coreani.

Noi di Gate Magazine abbiamo incontrato Luigi Lardini Direttore Creativo del brand, per farci raccontare novità ed evoluzioni di un marchio cosi storico.

Luigi cosa significa nel 2023 essere un’azienda di famiglia?

Credo che nel 2023 in un contesto sempre più social e digitale, essere un’azienda a conduzione familiare è un fattore molto importante e sicuramente di gran valore. Un percorso di 45 anni di storia aziendale fatto di sacrifici, duro lavoro, ma anche di soddisfazioni!

Ora che è entrata la seconda generazione, saranno loro a portare avanti il nostro cammino con passione e amore per questo mondo, costruendo anche qualcosa di nuovo

During the men’s fashion week in June there were so many innovations presented by stylists and fashion brands, such as the return of the unstructured jacket by Giorgio Armani or the linen suits and shirts by Zegna, or the ethereal vision of a fluid man by Prada, but Milan is not only fashion shows but presentations of brands that tell their vision and their story. Among these we focus on a presentation that took place in the fantastic context of the Milan Triennale of the men’s brand Lardini, which is celebrating its first 45 years in the name of well-made and tailoring. The company was founded in 1978 by the 4 siblings; Andrea, Luigi, Lorena and Annarita who each hold the same number of shares, and each with a prominent role within the corporate context. Lardini has been able, in recent years, to renew its image while maintaining its history. It has always cultivated the culture of tailoring and makes it evolve season after season, year after year by conquering not only the Italian market where it also has a flagship store in Milan in the fashion district, but little by little the entire globe with a boom in the Japanese and Korean markets. We at Gate Magazine met Luigi Lardini, Creative Director of the brand, so he could tell us about the news and evolution of such an historic brand.

Luigi what does it mean in 2023 to be a family business?

I believe that in 2023, in an increasingly social and digital context, being a family-run business is a very important factor and certainly of great value.

A 45 year journey of company history made up of sacrifices and hard work, but also satisfaction! Now that the second generation has entered, they will be the ones to carry on our journey with passion and love for this world, while building something new in line with the times we are living in.

If you could choose an iconic dress from your collections, which one would you choose and why?

The iconic double-breasted sand-colored suit for the SS24 collection, four buttons and mirrored lapels. It’s a passage between tailoring and modernity.

Se potesse scegliere un abito iconico delle vostre collezioni, quale sceglierebbe e perché?

L’abito iconico per la collezione SS24 color sabbia doppio petto, quattro bottoni e rever specchiato. Un passaggio tra sartorialità e modernità.

I vostri mercati sono molteplici, ma la Corea è uno dei vostri punti di forza perché?

La Corea è uno dei nostri punti di forza insieme al Giappone. In entrambi i mercati c’è un forte interesse per il prodotto del brand ed è nella strategia futura continuare ad ampliare i nostri punti vendita. Già dal 2010 abbiamo intrapreso un forte consolidamento nei mercati dell’est Asiatico con il nostro simbolo che è il fiore a quattro petali, ora conosciuto e apprezzato da tutti, ma la notorietà è arrivata soprattutto per la qualità del prodotto e la ricerca costante che viene fatta dietro ogni collezione di lancio.

Chi è l’uomo Lardini?

L’uomo Lardini è un uomo moderno che guardando il passato del suo aspetto sartoriale riesce a dettare una nuova eleganza, un aspetto moderno e innovativo in ogni dettaglio.

Elegante ma anche informale, l’uomo Lardini resta fedele a sé stesso, ma sempre attuale e al passo con quello che il mercato richiede.

In tema di sostenibiltà come si muove la vostra azienda?

La sostenibilità è un punto di forte delicatezza, un processo graduale, intenso e di grande responsabilità con uno studio e una ricerca molto attenta. Ad oggi la responsabilità più grande è quella di puntare su prodotti che durino più a lungo oppure su prodotti che utilizzino come materia prima materiale riciclato. La seconda è quella di sviluppare ed espandere l’uso di tecnologie che facilitino processi produttivi sostenibili, come appunto il riciclo.

Un traguardo che cercheremo di raggiungere quanto prima: sostenere e rispettare i criteri ambientali e sociali dove possibile. Your are in many markets, but Korea is one of your strongest. Why?

Korea is one of our strongest, together with Japan. In both markets there is strong interest in the brand’s product and our future strategy is to continue expanding our stores.

Since 2010 we have already undertaken a strong consolidation in the East Asian markets with our symbol which is the four-petal flower, now well-known or appreciated by all, but the notoriety has arrived above all for the quality of the product and the constant research that is made behind each collection launch.

Who is the Lardini man?

The Lardini man is a modern man who, looking at the past of his sartorial appearance, manages to dictate a new elegance, and a modern and innovative look in every detail. Elegant, but also informal the Lardini man remains true to himself but always current and in step with what the market requires.

Da anni presentate le vostre collezioni a Milano durante la MFW, perché questa scelta rispetto al Pitti immagine uomo ad esempio?

Presentiamo la nuova collezione alla Milano Fashion Week, già dalle ultime due stagioni, per dare una maggior visibilità al brand che è in fase di rebranding in termini di immagine, di comunicazione e di collezione sia per il targeting che per i mercati di riferimento. Un prodotto che si avvicina sempre di più ad un consumatore giovane, veloce e attratto dal mondo social e dall’esclusività. Inoltre, riteniamo che concentrare la presentazione in un giorno con una formula presentazione/ evento su Milano sia di fondamentale importanza per recuperare del tempo che oggi è fondamentale e soprattutto per l’elite di clienti che vi partecipano.

Come è cambiato il modo di vestire dei giovani uomini? Cosa cercano a differenza del passato?

Credo fermamente che per i giovani non sia cambiato niente. Quando si è giovani, come tutte, anche le generazioni più datate, seguivano e seguono tuttora la moda. Sicuramente oggi risulta molto più facile di una volta per via del mondo social che ha la sua influenza sugli utenti. Un tempo invece si guardavano e si prendevano ispirazione dalle icone della prwopria città o nazione.

Dal 1978 ad oggi quali sono i punti fermi che non sono mai mutati nel tempo?

Dove vede posizionato il brand Lardini nel prossimo futuro?

Nel futuro il brand Lardini sarà focalizzato sul retail: è questa la nostra scelta strategica sui territori in espansione.

Ormai certa l’apertura su strada il prossimo gennaio del 2024 ad Aoyama, Tokyo. Si cerca di dare uno sguardo a Parigi e Londra. Non dimentichiamo il focus sull’alto posizionamento dei wholesale in tutto il mondo.

Novità e peculiarità dell’ultima collezione P/E 2024 appena presentata?

Nella prossima collezione SS24, appena presentata, le novità e le peculiarità stanno nella puntigliosa ricerca e perfezione in ogni dettaglio; attraverso la vestibilità e la costruzione dei capospalla.

How is your company doing in terms of sustainability?

Sustainability is a point of great delicacy and a gradual, intense and highly responsible process with very careful study and research. To date, our greatest responsibility is to focus on products that last longer or on products that use recycled material as raw material.

Our second is to develop and expand the use of technologies that facilitate sustainable production processes, such as recycling. A goal that we will try to reach as soon as possible is to support and respect environmental and social criteria where possible. The rigor of our company, the quality of the productions, the attention to detail and the elegance of the style are our values which are also found in the architecture of the factory which fits perfectly into the surrounding hills. Our headquarters was among the first in the area to use a photovoltaic impact to help save energy, and anti-pollution filters that improve the quality of the environment.

You have been presenting your collections in Milan during the MFW for years. Why this choice over Pitti Immagine Uomo for example?

We have been presenting the new collection at Milan Fashion Week for the last two seasons in order to give greater visibility to the brand that is undergoing a rebranding in terms of image, communication and collection, both for targeting and for the referenced markets.

A product that is getting closer and closer to a young, fast consumer attracted by the social world and exclusivity. We also feel that the focus on the presentation in one day with a presentation/event formula in Milan is of fundamental importance to make up for the time that is fundamental today and above all, for the elite customers who participate.

How has the way young men dress changed? What are they looking for unlike in the past?

I firmly believe that nothing has changed for young people. When you are young, like everyone else in cluding the older generations you followed, you still follow

fashion. Surely today it is much easier than it used to be because of the social world which has its influence on users.

Once upon a time instead they looked at each other and took inspiration from the icons of their own city or nation.

From 1978 to today, what are your fixed points that have never changed over time?

From 1978 to today our fixed points that have not changed are the following: seriousness, quality and research.

Where do you see the Lardini brand positioned in the near future?

In the future, the Lardini brand will be focused on retail. This is our strategic choice for expanding territories.

Our opening on the road next January 2024 in Aoyama, Tokyo is now certain. We are looking at Paris and London. And let’s not forget the focus on the high positioning of wholesalers all over the world.

Are there news and peculiarities of the latest P/E 2024 collection just presented?

In the next SS24 collection, just presented, the novelties and peculiarities lie in the meticulous research and perfection in every detail; through the fit and construction of the outerwear.

An almost maniacal peculiarity to recreate looks that adhere to the body with grace and purity and with modern touches in line with what the market requires. Jacket with evident shoulders, more oversized and modern fits, soft and essential silhouettes but embellished in every detail: jewel buttons, golden threads that cross the fabrics of the jackets or shirts, rounded lapels or even jackets without collars, inserts of micro studs and lurex on our Celebrity (the evening collection.)

Che Virgil fosse un nome decisamente singolare per il figlio di due immigrati ghanesi, se n’era resa conto anche la segretaria dell’Università del Wisconsin alla quale aveva consegnato i documenti d’iscrizione per la facoltà d’ingegneria civile. Da Rockford, Illinois, in molti si spostavano a studiare a Chicago o a Milwaukee, ma le finanze della famiglia Abloh, in quel periodo, non permettevano movimenti che non fossero di carattere pendolare. Una madre sarta e un padre venditore di vernici, per quanto integrati al meglio nella comunità di quel centro agricolo della contea di Winnebago, non riuscivano da soli a far fronte ai sogni incontenibili del loro estroso figlio.

Anche per questo, non è sbagliato affermare che Virgil Abloh sia la più completa personificazione del sogno americano: da quel piccolo centro di 150mila abitanti, ha scalato da solo e senza aiuti l’industria del fashion. Tutto è cominciato con la progettazione di magliette in una tipografia di Chicago, mentre frequentava il Master in Architettura all’IIT. È proprio durante quel periodo che è divenuto amico e collaboratore di Kanye West, per il quale ha iniziato a disegnare il merchandising e le copertine dei primi album.

Un percorso che lo ha portato poi spontaneamente, nel 2012, ad aprire una boutique chiamata Pyrex Vision, basata su un concept decisamente semplice quanto virale: acquistare lotti di semplicissime ed economiche basics tee Champion e pezzi di magazzino Ralph Lauren, sopra i quali applicava le sue grafiche e le sue serigrafie, rivendendoli poi a centinaia di dollari in più.

L’estetica del vandalismo è sempre stata uno dei trait d’union di Virgil, e raggiunge la sua massima espressività durante l’anno successivo, il 2013, quando il designer di Rockford fonda la sua etichetta Off-White che, ridefinendo quella zona grigia tra streetwear e moda di lusso, era destinata a rimanere nella storia del costume di tutti i tempi.

Inizialmente Off-White incentra la propria estetica su collezioni di tee e hoodie dalle iconiche linee diagonali e dalle etichette riconoscibilissime, accompagnate da un imballaggio industriale. Ma nel giro di poco tempo, si passa alle passerelle: già nel 2014 - infatti - la prima linea di abbigliamento femminile Off-White debutta durante la settimana della moda di Parigi e viene addirittura selezionata come finalista per l’ambitissimo premio LVMH, che per la prima volta porta Virgil Abloh a strettissimo contatto con l’haute couture. Ma il vero grail della sconfinata produzione di Off-White è la collaborazione con Nike, che sarebbe iniziata da lì a breve. Durante un’intervista, Virgil Abloh aveva dichiarato che lui e il suo amico Chris Eaton erano così ossessionati da Jordan che avevano “iniziato a disegnare scarpe Nike da inviare al brand.

E Nike rispondeva: “Non accettiamo progetti”.

That Virgil was a very singular name for the son of two Ghanaian immigrants, was also realized by the secretary of the University of Wisconsin to whom he handed the registration documents for the civil engineering faculty. From Rockford, Illinois, many moved to study in Chicago or Milwaukee, but the finances of the Abloh family at that time did not allow commuting movements. A seamstress mother and a paint salesman father, no matter how well integrated into the

community of that Winnebago county farm, couldn’t cope on their own with the dreams of their fanciful son.

Also for this reason, it is not wrong to say that Virgil Abloh is the most complete personification of the American dream: from that small center of 150 thousand inhabitants, he climbed alone and without help the fashion industry. It all started with the design of t-shirts in a Chicago print shop, while he was attending his Master of Architecture at IIT. It was during this time that he became a friend and collaborator of Kanye West, for whom he designed the merchandising and the covers of his first albums. A path that led him then spontaneously, in 2012, to open a boutique called Pyrex Vision, based on a concept very simple as

viral: buy lots of cheap and basics Champion’s tee and pieces of Ralph Lauren stock, over which he applied his graphics and silkscreens, then sold for hundreds of dollars more.

The aesthetics of vandalism has always been one of the Virgil traits d’union, and reaches its maximum expressiveness during the following year, 2013, when the Rockford designer founded his label Off-White that, redefining that gray area between streetwear and luxury fashion, was destined to remain in the history of costume of all time. La collaborazione di Abloh con il popolarissimo brand è iniziata nel 2017 con la collezione “The Ten”, una partnership che ha dato vita ad alcune delle sneaker più ambite di tutti i tempi dai collezionisti. Anche in questa linea, il vandalismo di Virgil prende corpo attraverso un design unico, essenziale e ironico, che decostruisce e ridisegna 10 dei modelli più iconici delle scarpe Nike. In occasione dell’uscita della collezione, lo stesso Abloh aveva dichiarato: “Quello di cui stiamo parlando va oltre le sneakers, va anche oltre la cultura del design. L’anno successivo, Off-White è il brand più hot del mondo, secondo la classifica trimestrale stilata dalla piattaforma di moda Lyst. In un solo anno, il marchio ha scalato 33 posizioni nella classifica superando per la prima volta maison di lusso come Gucci e Balenciaga. Nello stesso anno, il 2018, Virgil Abloh viene nominato una delle 100 persone più influenti al mondo dalla rivista Time per la sua abilità artistica lungimirante, che ha contribuito anche a far sviluppare e crescere la cultura e l’identità black.

You can discuss them as much as you want, but they mean something. And that’s what matters”.

The following year, Off-White is the hottest brand in the world, according to the quarterly ranking compiled by the fashion platform Lyst. In just one year, the brand climbed 33 places in this ranking, surpassing for the first time luxury brands such as Gucci and Balenciaga. In the same year, 2018, Virgil Abloh was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine for his artistic ability, which also helped develop and grow black culture and identity.

Uomo estremamente fortunato, Vittorio Sacco ha saputo trarre dalla sua professione un travolgente senso di passione. Inspiegabilmente, di questa infatuazione, è ancora una vittima circostanziale.

Un uomo che è sempre alla ricerca delle sue sfide, dovunque si presentino e con ogni mezzo abbiano bisogno di affrontarle. Raramente soddisfatto delle proprie prestazioni, ma sempre profondamente convinto di poter migliorare. Audace, provocatorio, discutibile, problematico ed estremamente curioso. Fin da giovane si ritrova a svelare ogni argomento su cui posa lo sguardo, con un innato desiderio di conoscenza e una ricerca spasmodica di sviscerarne fino in fondo il contenuto.

Alcuni fotografi hanno iniziato come assistenti, altri fotografando i propri figli, ad esempio, come hai iniziato la tua carriera?

Ipnotizzato dall’assistere al processo di sviluppo di un foglio di carta in bianco e nero nel suo bagno... Amore a prima vista! È successo in uno studio fotografico professionale, che presto è diventato il mio parco giochi preferito. Avevo solo 14 anni... Il mio entusiasmo e la mia caparbietà hanno costretto il Direttore dello Studio ad assumermi finalmente come terzo assistente.

Da lì una strada lunga e tortuosa che alla fine mi ha portato alla Mecca, a Londra.

La mia carriera era decisamente decisa.

Perché hai deciso di diventare un fotografo e regista professionista ma non solo?

Fu allora che mi venne presentato un fotografo di still life di fama mondiale, il signor Lester Bookbinder. Il suo lavoro era sublime, il suo approccio sul set quasi rituale.

EN. A man that is always chasing his challanges, wherever they happen to occur and with any means they need to be dueled with. Rarely satisfied from his own performances, but always deeply convinced of being able to improve. Daring, provacative, arguable, problematic and extremely curiuos. Since his youth , he finds himself unveiling every subject he lays his eyes upon, with an innate desire of knowledge and a spasmodic search to fully eviscerate its content.

Some photographers started out as assistant, others photographing their own children for example, how did you start your career?

Mesmerized by witnessing the process of a black and white paper sheet as it developed in its bath… Love at first sight! It happened in a professional photo studio, that soon became my preferred playground. I was only 14… My enthusiasm and stubbornness forced the Studio Manager to finally hire me as a third assistant. From there a long and winding road that eventually brought me to the Mecca, London. My career was definitely set.

Why have you decide to be a professional tabletop photographer and director but not only?

It was then that I was introduced to a world renowned Still Life Photographer, Mr. Lester Bookbinder.

Nelle pochissime conversazioni ermetiche che ho avuto con il Maestro, mi ha caldamente raccomandato di iscrivermi ad una scuola formale di fotografia professionale. Quattro anni dopo mi sono laureato al Brooks Institute, in California. L’illustrazione è stata la mia specializzazione e, alla fine, il table-top è stata una diretta conseguenza. Anni dopo, a New York, un’altra figura mitologica nel mondo della pubblicità, Ed Bianchi, ha sponsorizzato il mio primo vero show-reel e ha dato il via al mio futuro professionale come regista cameraman.

Quali sono i tuoi temi preferiti e perché?

Non c’è mai stato un “argomento preferito” che io ricordi... E sorprendentemente quelli che possono sembrare meno attraenti sono quelli che mi incuriosiscono di più. Riuscire a dare un’anima ai tuoi argomenti trattati, nonostante tutte le difficoltà apparentemente travolgenti, è ciò che ha alimentato il mio interesse e la mia curiosità per decenni con entusiasmo, per usare un eufemismo.

Hai mai fotografato modelle, celebrità?

Raramente.

Ma la mia ammirazione per persone come David Bailey, Richard Avedon e Irving Penn è insormontabile.

Oggi sei un fotografo noto per la tua capacità unica di dare nuova vita ai prodotti. Sai cogliere l’essenza di un prodotto e trasmettere questa idea in modo potente. Ad esempio, hai il modo di trasformare il cibo in poesia, con l’incredibile potere dei colori.

Pensi che sia necessario avere un dono per diventare un fotografo?

Diventare un fotografo non significa necessariamente essere “dotato”. Per diventare un fotografo riconosciuto a livello mondiale serve molto di più che essere “dotato”. Ci vogliono sangue, sudore e lacrime. La cosa più importante, però, è continuare a credere in te stesso, nel tuo lavoro e nella tua passione, nonostante tutte le controversie e le disillusioni in cui inevitabilmente sei destinato a finire….

E, ovviamente, tanta fortuna.

C’è differenza tra fotografare e filmare?

A questa domanda posso rispondere solo per ciò che mi riguarda nello specifico. Nel corso degli anni ho tratto profitto regolarmente da

His work was sublime, his approach on set almost ritual. Those were the days where the most celebrated print campaigns shot at his studio were art directed by Ridley Scott and Adrian Lyne to name a few.

In the very few hermetic conversations I had with the Master, he highly recommended me to enroll in a formal Professional Photography School. Four years later I graduated from Brooks institute, California. Illustration was my Major and, at the end, table-top was a direct consequence.

Years later, in NYC, another mythological figure in the Advertising World, Mr. Ed Bianchi, sponsored my very first show-reel, and triggered my professional future as a Director Cameraman.

What are your favorite subject and why?

There hasn’t been a “favorite subject” ever that I recall… And surprisingly the ones that may look less attractive are the ones that intrigue me the most. Being able to give a soul to your featured subject matter, despite all its apparently overwhelming difficulties, is what drove my interest and curiosity for decades enthusiastically to say the least.

Have ever photographed models, celebrities? Rarely.

But my admiration for people such David Bailey, Richard Avedon and Irving Penn is unsurmountable.

Today you are a well-known photographer for your unique ability to breathe new life into products. You are able to grasp the essence of a product and convey this idea in a powerful way. For example, you have the way to make food into poetry, with the incredible power of colors.

Do you think one needs to have a gift to become a photographer?

Becoming a Photographer does not necessarily need to be ‘gifted’. To become a world recognized Photographer needs far more than be ‘gifted’. It takes blood sweat and tears. Most importantly, though, is to keep believing in yourself, your work and your passion, despite all controversies and disillusions which inevitably you’re bound to step into….

And, obviously, a great deal of luck.

Is there a difference between photographing and filming?

I can only answer this question for what involves me specifically. Over the years I have profit from these two disciplines on a regular basis. Most probably unconscious of it.

Siamo passati al digitale molto tempo fa. Quali cambiamenti importanti hai notato, utilizzando da anni pellicole e pellicole Polaroid?

I processi digitali hanno apportato un vantaggio enorme e inestimabile alla creazione di immagini nel suo insieme. Eticamente parlando, personalmente ritengo che le procedure di ripresa analogica abbiano la tendenza a portare il livello di concentrazione e attenzione ai dettagli molto più intenso e rigoroso.

Quindi, tendo a simulare il più possibile quell’approccio ortodosso superato nella realtà odierna dell’acquisizione di immagini. Inutile dire, però, che queste tecniche oggigiorno sono altrettanto intriganti e affascinanti quanto le pericolose armi letali che spesso sono nelle mani di criminali dell’immagine…

Ciò che mi ispira davvero è la capacità di manipolare un’immagine digitalmente e di riflettere il risultato su gloriosi processi di stampa analogici, come il platino/palladio e simili.

The most relevant example that comes to mind is perhaps to compare Filming and Photographing as for a chef Baking to Sauteing…

One needs precise temperatures and timing, the other energy and improvisations. At the end they both need to astonish you, as Alexey Brodovitch would say….

We went digital a long time ago. What important changes have you noticed, having used film and Polaroid films for years?

Digital processes brought a tremendous and inestimable advantage to image making altogether. Ethically speaking, I personally feel that analog shooting procedures had the tendency to bring the level of concentration and attention to the details far more intense and rigorous. So, I tend to simulate that passed orthodox approach as much as possible in today’s reality of image capturing.

Needless to say, though, these nowadays techniques are as intriguing and fascinating as dangerous lethal weapons that often are in the hands of image criminals…

What really inspires me is being able to manipulate an image digitally and reflecting the output onto analog glorious printing processes, such as Platinum/Palladium and the likes.

GLI OBBIETTIVI DELLA FINANZA SOSTENIBILE

In questo nuovo approccio di business teso verso un modello economico-imprenditoriale che aspiri a una visione di medio-lungo periodo, l’impatto ambientale, la creazione di prodotti e servizi dedicati alla sostenibilità e al green, il rispetto dei diritti dei lavoratori, l’attenzione al territorio si ergono a fattori essenziali sui quali si gioca la presenza sul mercato

Nel (lontano) 2015, l’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite ha adottato l’Agenda 2030 per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile al fine di partecipare e concorrere al raggiungimento dei 17 obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibili, 169 target e 240 indicatori costruendo e costituendo de facto la prova tangibile dell’impegno europeo verso un quanto mai auspicato e atteso sviluppo sostenibile.

Pochi anni più tardi, nel mese di marzo 2018, la Commissione Europea concretizza i buoni propositi con la pubblicazione del piano d’azione “Finanziamento della crescita sostenibile” con il precipuo intento di orientare flussi di capitale verso investimenti (dunque anche verso imprese) sostenibili ridefinendo o meglio ripensando il concetto di “rischio finanziario” dipendente oggi anche da (purtroppo evidenti) cambiamenti climatici-ambientali e sociali.

La strategia europea ha proseguito nella sua azione tesa a diventare il primo continente neutral climate change emanando, nel 2019, il Green Deal europeo mirando a raggiungere la neutralità climatica in Europa entro il 2050 prevedendo altresì, entro il 2030, una riduzione dell’emissioni di gas a effetto serra del 55% conosciuto come pacchetto “Fit for 55” lanciato il 14 luglio 2021.

La profondità del Green Deal europeo non esaurisce la sua missione limitatamente agli obiettivi climatici sopra espressi ma estende la programmazione anche in altri ambiti di applicazione quali, ad esempio e solo per elencarne alcuni utili al nostro scopo, l’economia circolare e la sostenibilità, con specifico riguardo ai settori del trasporto e dell’agricoltura.

Soffermandoci solo per un istante sui riflessi che il Green Deal europeo può (o potrebbe) avere sulla, da troppo tempo invocata, circolarità e sostenibilità economica, vale la pena evidenziare come, già oggi, la realtà (economica, sociale, finanziaria..) che ci circonda tende sempre più a smussare gli angoli retti verso soluzioni sempre più condivise, flessibili, aperte e accessibili riprendendo (tentando di raggiungere, o meglio inseguire), nella sua accezione più ampia possibile, il modello dell’economia circolare definito dall’Unione Europea quale “modello di produzione e consumo che implica condivisione, prestito, riutilizzo, riparazione, ricondizionamento e riciclo dei materiali e prodotti esistenti il più a lungo possibile”.

Economia circolare e sostenibilità sono facce della stessa medaglia la cui lega comune è rappresentata, senza ombra

di dubbio, dai c.d. criteri ESG, acronimo di environmental, social e governance che hanno “ottenuto”, nel corso degli ultimi mesi in particolar modo, la loro “compiuta manifestazione”. È altrettanto manifesto, tuttavia, come gli impegni contenuti nel Green Deal Europeo (e, a ben vedere, in numerosi e successive misure adottate a livello unionale tra cui, il c.d. pacchetto “EU Sustainable Finance” del 12 aprile 2021) mostrino con soddisfazione i propri archi e le proprie frecce a cui, pur tuttavia, occorrono imprescindibilmente arcieri che sappiano tracciare le linee della sostenibilità e che, a giudizio di chi scrive, non possono essere rappresentati solo ed esclusivamente dalle imprese necessitando, invero, di una comune visione e azione unitaria da parte dei player del mercato bancario, finanziario e altresì assicurativo in coerenza con i requisiti e previsioni normative in essere.

Orientare investimenti verso imprese e attività ESG ridefinendo e, pertanto, rivisitando i tradizionali modelli di business e di creazione di prodotti degli operatori economici, rappresenta oggi non, come alcuni vogliono far credere, una moda commerciale e passeggera bensì, al contrario, la sola ed unica strada perseguibile per assicurare crescita e resilienza del tessuto economico-imprenditoriale europeo.

Senza entrare nella tecnicità, pare impossibile non evidenziare come l’attenzione ai temi ambientali, sociali e di buona governance, realizzi una duplice conquista in termini non più teorici ma pratici: l’integrazione dei criteri ESG

da parte dei player del mondo bancario e finanziario (e non solo) condizionerà, positivamente s’intende, l’odierno modello imprenditoriale assai vicino, ancor oggi, a logiche di “massimizzazione dei profitti” e “abbattimento dei costi” esaltando, di converso, un cambio di paradigma che sovverta le visioni di breve termine verso modelli e imprese tese alla pianificazione (e alla visione) nel medio e lungo periodo.

È utile evidenziare come la revisione delle strategie, dei modelli di business, dei principi e delle tecniche di risk management conseguenti all’impatto e identificazione dei rischi ESG interessi in maniera incisiva anche il rapporto con gli stessi soggetti di contropartita, principalmente le imprese.

È opportuno rimarcare come gli attuali “Rating/scoring ESG” forniti da diversi provider, non seguano, metodologie univoche e standardizzate, circostanza quest’ultima, che lascia spazio, a rischi di “false rappresentazioni dei dati ESG” e di “greenwashing” che rischiano seriamente di comportare allocazioni di capitale errate, frutto di analisi parziali e informazioni non conformi ai principali standard di rendicontazione in materia di sostenibilità.

L’auspicio, è di un continuo “affinamento” delle soluzioni offerte dagli attuali provider del settore che potrà certamente riflettersi in un potenziale abbassamento dei costi legati all’ottenimento dei rating ESG a fronte di una maggiore concorrenza tra i diversi providers.

Dal punto di vista degli operatori bancari e finanziari, d’altronde, sembra lapalissiano sostenere come la relazione con il cliente sarà sempre più fondamentale per la condivisione delle motivazioni dell’investimento inteso come impatto stimato nel rispetto di fattori ESG, ad esempio, in tema di transizione energetica, piuttosto che di riduzione delle emissioni, o di altre tematiche ambientali, sociali e di governance.

In questo nuovo approccio di business teso verso un modello economico-imprenditoriale che aspiri a una visione di medio-lungo periodo, l’impatto ambientale, la creazione di prodotti e servizi dedicati alla sostenibilità e al green, il rispetto dei diritti dei lavoratori, l’attenzione al territorio si ergono a fattori essenziali sui quali si gioca la presenza sul mercato e la competitività tale per cui il sistema bancario e finanziario non potranno che andare a premiare e ad accelerare la valorizzazione di questi investimenti verso imprese c.d. ESG Compliant.

Da Napoli Afragola, stazione progettata da Zaha Hadid, mi dirigo in auto al b&b Torrepalazzo (Torrecuso). Ho il tempo per una doccia e raggiungo il resto del gruppo in una singolare visita di Benevento: una rappresentazione teatrale itinerante tra storia e leggende sulle streghe, le janare.

e al teatro romano, le musiche e i corpi dei ballerini alla luce del tramonto conferiscono a questo percorso un’atmosfera magica. Passiamo la serata all’agriturismo Le Peonie (Sant’Angelo a Cupolo), in un giardino all’inglese molto piacevole. Il fiume Sabato, poco distante, ci regala una frescura che rallegra il buon menù e i vini del territorio. Il giorno seguente provo il trekking fluviale alle Forre del Lavello. “Forra” indica un canyon solcato da un fiume. Io, un altro ospite del tour e la guida entriamo nel fiume e letteralmente ci camminiamo, prendendo confidenza con il passo, nuotando e lasciandoci trasportare dalla corrente. La natura circostante ci avvolge con la sua incantevole bellezza.

Passiamo sotto il ponte del Mulino, di origine sannitica. Il tratto finale è il più suggestivo: in questa parte di fiume le alte pareti rocciose quasi si toccano e sono di un azzurro turchese, dato dal riflesso intenso dell’acqua. Il tempo sembra fermarsi, e a malincuore ritorno alla realtà. Dopo un succulento pic nic offerto dallo chef Dino Masella (una forma di pane al cui interno si trovano assaggi di specialità e vini locali), mi dirigo verso il maneggio di Cusano Mutri per un emozionante giro a cavallo. The following day, I embark on a river trek through the Forre del Lavello. Forra refers to a canyon carved by a river. Together with another guest from the tour and our guide, we venture into the river, literally walking, swimming, and allowing ourselves to be carried by the current. We pass under the Sannitic-origin Mulino Bridge. The final stretch is the most awe-inspiring: the river’s high rock walls almost touch, painted in a turquoise hue from the intense water reflections. Oggi, una decina di queste mansion si possono visitare ed è come fare un salto indietro nel tempo. Il tour delle mansion della Gilded Age americana che s’affacciano su Bellevue Avenue, nell’Historic District di Newport, è uno dei più belli che si possano fare durante un viaggio negli Stati Uniti d’America per comprendere la storia del Paese che ancora oggi è il più influente del mondo, anche grazie a imprenditori e uomini d’affari, ma anche collezionisti e filantropi. Tra le più maestose c’è The Breakers, che ha fatto da sfondo a una seguitissima serie Tv intitolata appunto “The Gilded Age”:70 camere riccamente decorate con colonne in alabastro, affreschi, stucchi dorati, boiserie, lampadari di cristallo e arredi impreziositi da stoffe ricamate, sete e velluti.

Ancora più stupefacente è Marble House, una villa fatta interamente di marmo, dentro e fuori. Fu proprio questa splendida e iconica dimora a cambiare il destino della cittadina affacciata sull’oceano, fino ad allora un tranquillo luogo di villeggiatura con case fatte di legno - che esistono tuttora e che rendono Newport una delle mete imperdibili del Rhode Island -, facendola diventare “the place to be” per la mondanità newyorchese che veniva a soggiornarvi d’estate.

Siamo appena tornati dalle vacanze, riposati e rilassati ma alcuni di noi temono che i benefici di questa estate svaniranno immediatamente una volta rientrati nei ritmi e negli schemi quotidiani. E in quel caso lo stress prenderà nuovamente il sopravvento nelle nostre vite. Lo stress non è una malattia, ma uno stato di prolungata tensione che può ridurre l’efficienza sul lavoro e può causare gravi problemi di salute psicologica e fisica. Lavorare sotto una certa pressione per un breve periodo può migliorare le prestazioni e, quando si raggiungono obiettivi impegnativi, può anche produrre effetti psicologici positivi quali un aumento della soddisfazione lavorativa, motivazione e senso di autoefficacia personale. Al contrario, quando le richieste e la pressione diventano eccessive e prolungate possono causare stress e gravi problemi di salute mentale e fisica.

Anche se i fattori di stress possono essere di diversi tipi ed entità, non è tanto il potenziale stimolo stressogeno in sé a determinare il nostro livello di stress, quanto invece il nostro modo di percepire, affrontare e cercare di risolvere il problema che viviamo e il nostro livello di consapevolezza su quanto succede in queste situazioni.

La Mindfulness ci allena ad essere sempre più consapevoli delle nostre valutazioni sull’evento, del modo in cui leggiamo e decifriamo la realtà che si presenta davanti a noi, distaccandoci dalle nostre percezioni condizionanti, dai vissuti che guidano istintivamente le nostre azioni, dagli atteggiamenti autogiudicanti. Il malessere nasce perché si resiste a quello che sta succedendo nella realtà, vogliamo che le cose siano differenti da come sono realmente e questo divario tra le nostre aspettative e quello che incontriamo, genera fastidio e insoddisfazione che, a lungo andare, possono sfociare in malattia da stress.

La Mindfulness ci insegna a coltivare la capacità di percepire la nostra esperienza in modo globale e integrato e affina la nostra abilità di riconoscere e utilizzare in maniera consapevole e produttiva le nostre risorse interne, predisponendoci a ridurre l’intensità dello stress che viviamo e gli effetti negativi di questo sulla propria vita, apportando così notevoli benefici sia da un punto di vista del corpo che della mente.

Even though stress factors can be of different types and entities, it is not so much the potential stressful stimulus itself that determines our level of stress but rather our way of perceiving, dealing with and trying to solve the problem we are experiencing and the our level of awareness of what happens in these situations.

Mindfulness trains us to be increasingly aware of our evaluations of the event, of the way in which we read and decipher the reality that presents itself before us, detaching ourselves from our conditioning perceptions, from the experiences that instinctively guide our actions and from self-judging attitudes .

Discomfort arises because we resist what is happening in reality. We want things to be different from how they really are and this gap between our expectations and what we encounter generates annoyance and dissatisfaction which in the long run can lead to illness from stress.

Mindfulness teaches us to cultivate the ability to perceive our experience in a global and integrated way and refines our ability to recognize and use our internal resources in a conscious and productive way, predisposing us to reduce the intensity of the stress we experience and the negative effects of this on one’s life, thus bringing notable benefits from both a body and mind point of view.

The main theme is to develop the ability to respond to stress rather than react to stress.

Reacting to stress is something ancestral and instinctively present in our human nature.

Just like with primitive man. The feeling of danger is present both before the threatening event occurs and after its disappearance and this propensity of ours to prolong the time we spend in alarm and in anxiety makes us remain in a state of

La nostra reattività dipende prevalentemente dall’urgenza di risolvere l’incertezza e dall’abitudine di riciclare vecchie risposte anche di fronte a nuove situazioni, diventando un ostacolo alla creatività nell’elaborazione di nuove soluzioni e spesso alla serenità delle relazioni interpersonali. Quando “reagiamo allo stress” , l’impulsività attiva un processo di natura sia mentale che corporea che può portare ad un notevole spreco di energie, in alcuni casi anche prolungato; quando invece “rispondiamo allo stress” ci concediamo un tempo per riconoscere tutto ciò che emerge dentro di noi a più livelli, esercitiamo la presenza mentale ed elaboriamo in modo creativo la soluzione più efficace. Ebbene la Mindfulness c’insegna a “rispondere” più che a “reagire”, ovvero a riconoscere le sensazioni, le emozioni e i pensieri che affiorano consentendoci di vedere il contesto in cui ci troviamo per quello che realmente è, e di produrre molto probabilmente la risposta migliore. Così si potenzia la nostra fiducia nei confronti delle nostre risorse che diventano per noi più facilmente individuabili e disponibili. Trasformando il nostro modo di vedere le cose, possiamo trasformare il nostro modo di rispondere ad esse.

Intraprendere un percorso di Mindfulness aiuta il proprio processo di crescita personale, per imparare a prendersi cura di sé per sviluppare un maggior stato di serenità e pace mentale. La pratica di Mindfulness insegna a riconoscere le proprie emozioni, sensazioni e pensieri, accogliendoli così come sono nella loro semplice realtà al di là del loro essere positivi o negativi, aprendoci all’esperienza nella sua completezza.

In particolare l’uso delle tecniche di rilassamento, presenti nella pratica Mindfulness, risultano efficaci strumenti di gestione dello stress, utili anche a fronteggiare gli eventi stressanti nei luoghi di lavoro.

Questa offerta addizionale è focalizzata prevalentemente sul servizio al tavolo con concept che valorizzano il patrimonio enogastronomico italiano e internazionale.

Una vasta gamma di possibilità e atmosfere diverse per gli ospiti e i clienti dei nuovi punti di ristorazione. La grande piazza dell’Area A, nata per proporsi come luogo di incontro e socialità per i passeggeri, dove trascorrere piacevolmente il tempo a disposizione, diventa così un’area al cui interno si può trovare anche il meglio della cultura enogastronomica italiana e non solo, con circa 4.000 mq ai quali si aggiungono oltre 2.000 metri quadrati dedicati alle lounge. Il progetto PIONEER prevede la progettazione, la costruzione, l’avviamento e il funzionamento di un sistema composto da batterie di seconda mano provenienti dal settore automobilistico per lo stoccaggio dell’energia in eccesso prodotta da un impianto solare fotovoltaico da 30MW. From the inauguration of the service last April, until the end of July, more than 7,000 passengers carried out the checkin operations at the station counters, of which 6,400 with at least one checked baggage.

These results represent an important signal and a step toward increasingly integrated and sustainable mobility which places customer experience, innovation and attention to the environment at the center.

PIONEER: Airport sustainability on the storage of second-hand batteries

The PIONEER project involves the design, construction, commissioning and operation of a system composed of second-hand batteries from the automotive sector for the storage of excess energy produced by a 30MW solar photovoltaic plant. The project will be developed at the Rome Fiumicino International Airport and the energy stored will cover the peak demand in the evening, also providing flexibility services to the grid. It’s the first of its kind globally – there are no projects of this size using second-hand batteries from multiple original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). A further innovative feature concerns the development of equipment capable of checking the state of health of the batteries before their connection to the system. The energy storage system will have a nominal capacity of 5MW/10MWh. The construction of new batteries will be avoided thanks to the project. Overall, the project is expected to avoid 100% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to a conventional technology.

La soluzione utilizzerà diversi pacchetti di batterie di tre diversi produttori di automobili. Questo ha il vantaggio di ridurre il rischio di approvvigionamento e di aumentare la modularità del sistema.

Un software di ottimizzazione intelligente massimizzerà le prestazioni e le rendite delle batterie. Attraverso tecniche avanzate di apprendimento automatico, le esigenze energetiche dell’aeroporto saranno comprese e la batteria sarà automaticamente caricata e scaricata in momenti ottimali per fornire il massimo rendimento finanziario possibile. Un’ulteriore caratteristica innovativa riguarda lo sviluppo di apparecchiature in grado di controllare lo stato di salute delle batterie prima che vengano connesse al sistema.

L’introduzione di questi nuovi sistemi di stoccaggio e gestione dell’energia permetterà il massimo utilizzo dell’energia rinnovabile dal campo solare fotovoltaico, per fornire servizi di bilanciamento alla rete nazionale e per ridurre le emissioni di CO2 dell’aeroporto, in linea con i suoi obiettivi di ridurre le emissioni nette di carbonio a zero (Zero Net Carbon). Il passaggio all’energia solare ridurrà l’elettricità necessaria che è attualmente generata da una centrale di cogenerazione alimentata a gas naturale nell’aeroporto.

Questo progetto dimostrerà quindi il caso d’uso delle batterie di seconda mano come una soluzione praticabile per uno stoccaggio di energia economico ed efficace. Una volta completato il progetto, AdR ha già pianificato di installare altri sistemi solari fotovoltaici e di stoccaggio sullo stesso sito. L’integrazione del settore dello stoccaggio delle batterie con altri settori rilevanti, come il settore automobilistico e il settore energetico apre nuove e flessibili opportunità. Il risultato del progetto nell’area dell’integrazione dei sistemi di stoccaggio con le energie rinnovabili e altri servizi avrà un impatto positivo sul piano d’azione strategico europeo per le batterie.

Aeroporti di Roma’s development plan for the Leonardo da Vinci airport envisages the installation of the largest photovoltaic solar field (60MWp) present in airport infrastructure throughout Europe. The objective of the PIONEER project is to store the excess energy produced during the day by the photovoltaic solar system, distributing it when it is most needed to cover the peak energy needs of the airport structures during the evening hours, when the solar energy is no longer available. A further innovative feature concerns the development of equipment capable of checking the state of health of the batteries before they are connected to the system.

The introduction of these new energy storage and management systems will allow the maximum use of renewable energy from the solar photovoltaic field, to provide balancing services to the national grid and to reduce the airport’s CO2 emissions, in line with the its goals of reducing its net carbon emissions to zero (Zero Net Carbon). The switch to solar power will reduce the required electricity which is currently generated by a natural gas-fired cogeneration plant at the airport. This project will therefore demonstrate the use case of second-hand batteries as a viable solution for cost-effective and effective energy storage. Once the project is completed, AdR has already planned to install more solar PV and storage systems on the same site. The integration of the battery storage sector with other relevant sectors, such as the automotive sector and the energy sector opens up new and flexible opportunities. The project outcome in the area of integration of storage systems with renewable energies and other services will have a positive impact on the European strategic action plan for batteries.

QUARTIERE COPPEDÈ

Nel centralissimo Quartiere Trieste, tra Via Tagliamento, Via Arno, Via Ombrone e Via Clitunno, non lontano da Corso Trieste, si trova un piccolo quartiere da sogno, con incredibili edifici in stile liberty, art déco e arte medievale. All’entrata, uno spettacolare arco con un lampadario, e poco dopo la deliziosa Fontana delle Rane. Non dimenticate di passare davanti al Palazzo del Ragno e di visitare i famosissimi Villini delle Fate, realizzati dall’architetto Gino Coppedè, che dà il nome a tutto il quartiere, tra il 1920 e il 1927, e le cui facciate sono un omaggio alle città di Roma, Venezia e Firenze. Si chiamano così perché sul pavimento dell’ingresso da Piazza Mincio troverete un mosaico rotondo in cui vengono rappresentate Neme, Melete e Aede, tre antiche fate dell’antichità romana. Non possiamo che invitarvi a perdervi in queste strade che sembrano preludere a un sorprendente viaggio indietro nel tempo, proprio nel cuore della città.

LE CASCATE DI ROMA

Potrebbe sembrare sorprendente, ma nel quartiere dell’EUR si possono ammirare delle meravigliose cascate. Si trovano infatti all’interno del Parco del Laghetto dell’Eur, in particolare nella zona che si chiama proprio Giardino delle Cascate. Vi troverete armoniosi giochi d’acqua, getti che cambiano colore e movimenti d’acqua che aiutano l’ossigenazione del laghetto, creato in occasione delle Olimpiadi di Roma del 1960. Neanche tanto piccolo, poi, se pensate che è lungo un chilometro e può arrivare a 130 metri di larghezza, con una profondità che tocca i 4 metri. Il Giardino delle Cascate è stato realizzato nel 1961 dall’architetto Raffaele De Vico, e utilizzato anche spesso come set cinematografico.

LA BIBLIOTECA CASANATENSE

Tra il Pantheon e Fontana di Trevi si trova una delle più antiche biblioteche di Roma, che si può visitare gratuitamente negli orari di apertura: la biblioteca Casanatense. Fu inaugurata il 3 novembre 1701, grazie al cardinale Girolamo Casanate (1620-1700), che lasciò ai domenicani del convento di S. Maria sopra Minerva di Roma la sua raccolta libraria, composta da più di 20.000 volumi e che appunto diede il suo nome alla biblioteca.

Oggi contiene circa 400.000 volumi, oltre 6000 manoscritti, alcuni risalenti al XV secolo, tra cui anche 90 di Niccolò Paganini, nonché l’archivio del pianista e compositore Giovanni Sgambati. Gli orari di apertura sono il lunedì e il venerdì dalle 10 alle 14 e dal martedì al giovedì dalle 10.30 alle 17.30.

THE CASANATENSE LIBRARY

Between the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain is one of the oldest libraries in Rome, which can be visited for free during opening hours: the Casanatense Library. It was inaugurated on November 3, 1701 thanks to Cardinal Girolamo Casanate (1620-1700), who left his book collection consisting of more than 20,000 volumes, to the Dominicans of the convent of S. Maria sopra Minerva in Rome and which gave his name to the library. Today it contains about 400,000 volumes, over 6,000 manuscripts with some dating back to the 15th century, including 90 by Niccolò Paganini, as well as the archive of the pianist and composer Giovanni Sgambati.

IL ROSETO DI ROMA

Il roseto, in effetti, ha una storia molto antica: già in epoca romana, questa zona aveva un tempio dedicato alla dea Flora, e vi si tenevano i cosiddetti Floraria, le feste in onore di tale dea, in primavera. È dal 1950 che è sede del roseto comunale, e l’ingresso è totalmente libero e gratuito, ogni giorno dalle 8.30 alle 19.30.

THE ROSE GARDEN OF ROME

“La Sapienza”, ha una storia molto antica e visitarlo nel mese di settembre, una volta passata la canicola estiva, oppure approfittando delle classiche e meravigliose “ottobrate romane” è il modo migliore per conoscere le migliaia di specie vegetali (arrivano a 3000) che vi sono ospitate, apprezzando la sua intramontabile bellezza.

SUA STORIA

Il “predecessore” dell’Orto Botanico di Roma è stato il cosiddetto “Simpliciarius Pontificius Vaticanus”, il giardino dei semplici dove si coltivavano le piante medicinali del Vaticano, già menzionato sotto il pontificato di Bonifacio VIII nel Tredicesimo secolo. Fu Alessandro VI, nel Millecinquecento, a volere il primo vero Orto Botanico a Roma, e Pio V poi lo ingrandì affidandolo al botanico Michele Mercati. Con Alessandro VII, divenne uno dei principali giardini botanici d’Europa, alimentato dall’acquedotto che da Bracciano arrivava al Gianicolo (ricostruito a partire dall’antico acquedotto di Traiano). Nel 1513 venne istituita la prima cattedra di Botanica all’Università La Sapienza di Roma, e gli studenti avevano il privilegio di visitare l’Orto Botanico del Vaticano, che per il resto era rimasto privato e quindi non visitabile.

Solo dopo l’unità di Italia, nel 1883, l’Orto Botanico è diventato quello che conosciamo oggi; Villa Corsini, infatti, fu acquistata dallo Stato, e fu Pietro Romualdo Protta il primo direttore, colui che tra l’altro installò le prime collezioni di specie vegetali nel parco Corsini, al tempo praticamente abbandonato.

THE STORY

The “predecessor” of the Botanical Garden of Rome was the so-called “Simpliciarius Pontificius Vaticanus”, the garden of simple people where the medicinal plants of the Vatican were grown, and already mentioned under the pontificate of Boniface VIII in the thirteenth century. It was Alexander VI, in the sixteenth century, who wanted the first real Botanical Garden in Rome, and Pius V then enlarged it, entrusting it to the botanist Michele Mercati.

With Alexander VII, it became one of the main botanical gardens in Europe, fed by the aqueduct that from Bracciano reached the Janiculum Hill (rebuilt starting from the ancient aqueduct of Trajan). In 1513 the first chair of Botany was established at the Sapienza University of Rome, and students had the privilege of visiting the Vatican Botanical Garden, which had otherwise remained private and therefore not open to visitors. Only after the unification of Italy, in 1883, did the Botanical Garden become what we know today; Villa Corsini, in fact, was

purchased by the State, and Pietro Romualdo Protta was the first director, the one who among other things installed the first collections of plant species in the Corsini park, practically abandoned at the time.

Il costo del biglietto d’ingresso è di 8 euro dai 12 ai 65 anni, mentre il biglietto ridotto, per bambini dai 6 agli 11 anni e per gli over 65, è di 4 euro. Gratuito l’ingresso per i bimbi di età inferiore ai 6 anni. Non è invece consentito l’ingresso ai cani o ad altri animali domestici. Considerate che una visita che vi permetta di osservare tutto il giardino richiede circa un’ora e mezza di tempo.

La visita all’Orto Botanico di Roma è un’esperienza formativa e divertente a tutte le età, che permette di osservare da vicino le più diverse e meravigliose specie vegetali, stando a contatto con la natura. Spesso, essendo collegato all’Università “La Sapienza”, e da sempre collegato a funzioni didattiche e di ricerca, potrete trovarci mostre, conferenze oppure corsi ed eventi specifici legati ai temi naturalistici e ambientali. Non mancano i laboratori ludico-didattici per i più piccoli. Si può visitare per conto proprio, oppure approfittando di una visita guidata: ce ne sono ben 250,

Some of the most interesting, for example, concern endangered species, medicinal plants or the so-called “living fossils”, the oldest plants that still exist today. If you wish, you can also make a general visit of the entire botanical garden discovering history, species and purposes.

In diversi periodi dell’anno, poi, in occasione di particolari fioriture, ci sono eventi e visite speciali. Quella delle rose, per esempio, nei mesi di aprile e maggio, o l’evento “Hanami all’Orto Botanico”, che si svolge in tarda primavera in occasione della fioritura dei ciliegi nel giardino giapponese progettato dall’architetto Ken Nakajima. Una splendida occasione per scoprire l’idea della Natura nella cultura giapponese e la sua estetica.

For example, the roses in the months of April and May, or the “Hanami at the Botanical Garden” event which takes place in late spring during the cherry blossom season in the Japanese garden designed by architect Ken Nakajima. A splendid opportunity to discover the idea of Nature in Japanese culture and its aesthetics.

In any case, the 12 hectares of the Botanical Garden, which extend on the slope of the Gianicolo facing north-east, allow a free visit to all the curious who want to wander around this wonderful park, with its over 3000 plant species. In the lower part you will find the vegetable garden of simples and the garden of aromas, as well as palm trees, aquatic plants, succulent plants and bamboo groves, and the beautiful valley of ferns. At the top of the hill you can instead enter a Mediterranean forest, the so-called Bosco Romano, where you can enjoy splendid views of the Eternal City, among centuries-old specimens of plane trees, evergreens and holm oaks that are 400 years old. The Rose garden and Japanese garden are also located here. In the direction of the Palace, there is a collection of conifers, and also several redwoods, including a majestic American giant sequoia.

COME ARRIVARE

Per raggiungere l’Orto Botanico da nord (P.le Clodio, o piazza Cavour) o da sud (P.le Ostiense, V.le Aventino), si deve arrivare a ponte Sisto con le linee autobus 23 o 280, per poi proseguire a piedi per via di Ponte Sisto, via di S. Dorotea, via di Porta Settimiana, via Corsini.

Dal centro (P.zza Torre Argentina) o da ovest (Monteverde, Stazione di Trastevere), è bene invece raggiungere P.zza G. Belli con il tram numero 8 e poi proseguire a piedi per via della Lungaretta, via della Scala, via di Porta Settimiana, arrivando infine in via Corsini.

In ogni caso, i 12 ettari dell’Orto Botanico, che si estendono sul pendio del Gianicolo rivolto a nord-est, consentono una visita libera a tutti i curiosi che vogliono aggirarsi per questo meraviglioso parco, con le sue oltre 3000 specie vegetali. Nella parte inferiore troverete l’orto dei semplici e il giardino degli aromi, oltre a palme, piante acquatiche, piante succulente e boschetti di bambù, e la bellissima valletta delle felci.

Nella parte superiore della collina potrete invece inoltrarvi in un bosco mediterraneo, il cosiddetto Bosco Romano, da cui potrete godere di splendidi panorami della Città Eterna, tra esemplari secolari di platani, sempreverdi e lecci che contano anche 400 anni di vita. Qui si trovano anche il roseto e il giardino giapponese. In direzione del Palazzo, si trova una collezione di conifere, ma anche diverse sequoie, tra cui una maestosa sequoia gigante americana.

In occasione di eventi speciali e mostre, è possibile accedere dall’ingresso superiore, presso la passeggiata del Gianicolo, in prossimità dell’incrocio con via del Parco di Villa Corsini.
