elcome to the 2020 Bay Building Industries Association (BBIA) Great American Parade of Homes. This is our 40th year to bring this premier event to Bay County.

The Parade is exclusive to BBIA builder members. This year, we have 14 homes by 6 professional builders. Starting off the parade route again this year will be the BBIA Showcase Scholarship Home. All the homes in the Parade offer the newest and most innovative products in energy efficiencies and technologies, showcasing unique and cutting edge features now trending in the construction industry. The Great American Parade of Homes serves as the leading resource for consumers shopping for a new home and/or ideas for renovation of an existing home. The Parade provides reliable sources when looking for a builder or associate. When touring the homes in the Parade, patrons have the opportunity to visit with professional builders and industry associates that are experienced representatives of the building industry. We are proud to announce the #1 Entry on the Parade route is the BBIA Showcase Scholarship Home. The home is a consummation of the experienced BBIA Builders and Associates. Their state-of-the-art innovative ideas and dedication have made this home possible. Because of the generosity of our talented membership providing skilled labor, discounted materials, and donations, our goal is to set aside up to $10,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the home to award scholarships to students pursuing a career in the construction industry field.

elcome to the 40th Annual Great American Parade of Homes presented by the Bay Building Industries Association – BBIA. I would like to thank all the sponsors, participants, donors, and BBIA members who have dedicated their time to make this a fantastic Parade of Homes. Typically, every Mother’s Day and the week following, the builder members of the BBIA open their homes for your viewing pleasure. This year, due to COVID-19, we were forced to delay the Parade to August 7-9, 2020. The Parade will include 14 unique and innovative homes, built by 6 different builders, for you to tour and admire. These homes will demonstrate the professional quality representative of your BBIA Builders and range from 1600 to over 5300 square feet. There will be homes on display that will appeal to the first-time home buyer, someone looking for a luxury upgrade and everything in between. The first stop on the parade route will be the BBIA Scholarship Home. The scholarship home is located at 305 Raven Lane, Callaway Corners Subdivision, and is being built by BBIA members under the leadership of Hunter Collins of Samuel Taylor Homes. Hunter serves on the BBIA Board of Directors and is an FHBA (Florida Home Builders Association) Associate Director. As a way of giving back to our communities, this year’s home is being built for workforce housing community. It is centrally located close to their jobs and has all of the conveniences of accessibility to everyday amenities.

As a way of giving back to our communities, BBIA is building our Scholarship Home for the workforce housing community. The home is reasonably affordable to workers with moderate to middle income and is located close to their jobs with all the convenience of proximity to day-to-day amenities.

The BBIA constructs this home to raise funds for our scholarship program. Up to $10,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit our Scholarship and Construction Academy programs. The scholarships will be awarded to deserving students who are planning to continue their education at a technical school or accredited college.

BBIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

ay Building Industries Association (BBIA) continues to actively promote awareness of the construction industry field in our communities.

BBIA was instrumental in setting up The Construction Academy at Rutherford High School (RHS) which held its very first class in 2016. We worked tirelessly with Bay County Superintendent of Schools, RHS Principal, Haney Technical School Director and Assistant Director, the Instructor, several local contractors and our membership to set up the academy. The RHS Construction Academy program was mirrored to Arnold High School in the 2017-2018 school year. As a result, the Construction Academies are charter schools for the Future Builders of America (FBA), an organization dedicated to introducing construction career opportunities to secondary school students and other youth up to 25 years of age and providing programs to develop leadership skills critical to the construction industry. Many thanks to all who supported making this valuable resource come to fruition. BBIA is once again building a scholarship home that will be entry #1 in the 2020 Great American Parade of Homes that runs August 7th – 9th, 2020. Up to $10,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the scholarship home will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the construction industry. Since 2015, BBIA has awarded over $77,000 in scholarships to 97 deserving students to further their education. Additionally, BBIA has an endowed scholarship at Gulf Coast State College and has awarded many scholarships to students throughout the years. The Construction Academy, our Endowed Scholarship, and our pledge to award scholarships to students furthering a career in the construction field show our commitment to giving back to the community while supporting our industry.

amuel Taylor Homes is honored to have been selected the Builder for the 2020 Great American S Parade of Homes Scholarship Home. We are Proud to build in Bay County and proud to be a part of such a great community.

The support of our BBIA membership making donations and giving discounts, contributing their time, offering their knowledge and expertise, and working tirelessly to make this event possible is overwhelming. Because of the generosity of the membership, their co-workers, and vendors, we have been able to build this home and present it to you as Entry #1 out of 14 beautiful homes on the Parade Route this year. Thanks to the hard work and donations from our community members, BBIA provided over $25,000 in scholarships to local students this year. I am so proud of our efforts to accomplish this.
