MEMBERSHIP MOMENTUM: GROWING BBIA , ONE CONNECTION AT A TIME
The BBIA Membership Committee has been hard at work making 2025 a year of growth, engagement, and innovation. Under the leadership of Chair Claudia Gunselman and newly appointed Co-Chair Tiffany Enfinger, the committee has been busy creating new opportunities to welcome, retain, and celebrate our members
We’re excited to announce plans for quarterly New Member Orientations, as well as the revival of Hard Hat Happy Hours casual, fun networking socials that give members and prospects a chance to connect These events will help foster engagement not just in Bay County, but in Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington Counties, where we ’ re focused on expanding our BBIA footprint
Additionally, we ’ re developing a Member Welcome Toolkit with ideas like social media spotlights and welcome goodies to help new members feel at home from day one.
The committee is also committed to recruitment support during the ongoing NAHB and FHBA Membership Drives, with a customizable outreach email and tracking for recruiter credits and spikes. We even selected a winner for the SEBC booth giveaway, and are working to ensure their first BBIA experience is a successful one
From expanding engagement to strengthening outreach, the Membership Committee is all in on making BBIA bigger, better, and more connected than ever Want to help? Join the committee or refer a friend or colleague today!

The event is named in memory of Bill Black, a beloved BBIA member whose passion for people, purpose, and community left a lasting legacy Bill had a long history of organizing wild game events to bring people together and raise funds for causes close to his heart Before his passing, he enthusiastically encouraged the PWB Council to launch a wild game event of our own one that would support women in construction and future builds led by women

At BBIA, advocacy isn’t just something we talk about it’s something we do From city hall to the state capitol, our Government Affairs & PAC Committee works year-round to represent the interests of the building industry, defend housing affordability, and protect the rights of our members
Local Advocacy: Standing Our Ground on Fee Proposals
Panama City – Transportation Fees
BBIA is actively engaged in the ongoing transportation fee discussions with the City of Panama City These proposed new fees could drastically increase costs for builders and homebuyers. We’ve voiced strong concerns about affordability, transparency, and the impact on housing accessibility
A public workshop is scheduled for July 10, and BBIA will be there to represent our members and advocate for smart, fair policy
Parker
– Impact Fees
In Parker, BBIA is pushing back on proposed impact fees that would result in significant cost increases for new development We worked behind the scenes and at the microphone to educate officials and protect homeowners helping save citizens thousands in fees.
