Online Registration Many of our activities are available for online registration. Visit our online registration site at farmersbranchliving.com

Register on Time

Although participants may still enroll after a class begins, families are encouraged to enroll in a timely manner. Waiting until the last minute might result in the class you want being full, or if enrollment is low, the class may be canceled. Registration can be done online, in person, or over the phone.

Community Recreation Center Class Registration

Youth class registration begins November 1 for December, January, and February classes for residents and members. Non-residents who are non-members may register for classes one week prior to the start of each session.

Class Fees and Dates

All class fees are based on a four-week session per month unless otherwise noted. Classes affected by holidays and other conflicts may be prorated. See instructor or a front desk staff member for details.

Holidays may affect class schedules. Check with a staff member for details. Cash, checks, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa are accepted as forms of payment.

Class Policies

Only registered participants may enter the activity area. Pre-registration is required for all classes. The enrollment minimum must be met for a class to make. Refunds are available only before a class has started and with approval. To request a refund, contact a front desk staff member. A credit may be issued in place of a refund. Class fees are not prorated based on late enrollment or non-attendance. At the instructor’s discretion, participants may be able to make up a class.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available to qualifying Farmers Branch residents for a variety of activities at the Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. See staff for information on how to qualify. A maximum of $100 per child (up to age 18), per fiscal year (OctoberSeptember) may be received. Financial assistance is limited to one class per session, per child. Payment of 50 percent of class fee is due at time of registration. Ask about financial assistance for supplies as well!

Kids Zone Childcare

Childcare is offered for children ages six months to nine years. Kids Zone hours are Monday - Thursday from 9 -11 a.m. | Monday - Thursday 4 - 8 p.m., and Saturdays 7:45 - 10:35 a.m.

The cost of childcare is free to members. Reservations are accepted up to 2 weeks in advance. Reservations are required and are limited. Monday - Thursday afternoon time slots are two-hour limit, two different slots 4 - 6 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.

A liability waiver and childcare form must be completed and on file for each child. Every child must be signed in and out each time the child visits Kids Zone.

Parent must remain at the Recreation Center or Aquatics Center while child is in care. Children may not attend if they are ill. Approved staff/child ratios will be followed. Doors must remain closed when children are present. All personal items must be labeled. No peanut products allowed. Payment for childcare services is made at the Recreation Center’s front desk prior to entering the Kids Zone.

Resident Disabled Veterans

Residents who are veterans of any branch of the United States Armed Forces and provide documentation showing a total service-related disability rating of 50% or greater from the Department of Veterans Affairs are exempt from individual membership fees. Residency is based on the address listed on a government-issued ID.

FREE with Fitness Membership

Whether you are looking for the fun of Zumba or the challenge of Indoor Cycling, we offer a Flex Fitness class that meets your needs. Flex Fitness classes are included at no cost with your Fitness membership. Classes do not meet on holidays. Day passes are available for purchase for non-members. Day passes are valid for any Flex Fitness class and expire at the end of the purchase day. Day passes are available for $7 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Improve your range of motion, strength, and flexibility with this mobility focused class that incorporates mindful movement practices that you’ll recognize from Pilates, yoga, and barre. Class limited to 20 participants.

Sculpt your hips, thighs, abdomen, and upper body with a variety of aerobics, weights, floor work, and yoga-like stretching. Class limited to 25 participants.

Bike N Burn

Why just bike when you can Bike & Burn? This class is the best of both worlds. The first part builds cardiovascular strength and endurance with low-impact, highly efficient indoor cycling. The second half is carefully designed resistance training to boost the metabolism. The intensity is controlled by the individual so all fitness levels can benefit. The class is limited to 12 participants.

Grow Music & Dance: Pre-k/Kinder Ballet and Tap

This class will focus on learning age-appropriate techniques and developing gross motor skills, balance, musicality, and performance skills. Members may use the Farmers Branch Recreation Center while The Branch Connection is under renovation. This includes the use of the basketball gym, fit zone, and track. To participate in fitness classes, you must get a Recreation Center Membership.

The Branch Connection is an Active Adult Center that provides Dances, Fitness, Art, Crafts, Computer, Garden, Book, and Photo classes. Our facility offers a fitness room, board games, puzzles, cards, billiards, table tennis, educational seminars, and bingo as part of our amenities. With over 22,400 square footage and individual rooms, our facility and programs are geared toward meeting the physical, mental, social, and emotional needs for individuals 50 years of age and better.

The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center has made arrangements with the North Pole elves to accept mail for delivery to Santa. Have your kids write a letter to Santa Claus, and they will get a letter from him in return! Please make sure to include a return address, what they want for Christmas, and something about themselves. You can drop off letters between November 10 - December 8 in the Margaret Young Natatorium.

Swim Lessons

The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center offers a variety of swim lessons for a wide range of ages and abilities. Below is a list of session dates, times, and prices. Not all levels are offered at all times. Refer to the online schedule at farmersbranchliving.com or contact the Aquatics Center front desk at 972-919-8720 for details regarding swim lesson levels, inclement weather, refund policies, and additional information. All participants must be registered before entering the swim area. Guests not potty trained must wear a swim diaper.

Group Swim Lessons are for ages six months to 12 years, including Parent-Tot, Preschool Levels 1-3, and Youth Levels 1-4.

Swim Assessment

This assessment is for those new to the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center Learn-to-Swim program or those who have spent more than three months between classes. At no additional charge, participants may come to the Natatorium for a swim-level assessment using the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center Learn-to-Swim program criteria. Participants must be at least three years old. Participants will be in the water for approximately 5 minutes and tested on swim skills (front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, etc.). This assessment does not guarantee registration spots for participants. Aquatics Center members receive resident pricing. See the pricing information and schedule below.

Scout Swim Test

Do you need to complete your required Scout Swim Test? Enroll in this activity, and a staff member with an American Red Cross Lifeguarding or Water Safety Instructor certification will administer and fill out your Swim Classification Record form. Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins will be allowed.

Camp activities include cooking, baking, specialty crafts, outdoor nature walks, and lots more. This award-winning camp will explore the impact girls have made throughout American history! Prepared to paint a pocket-sized pièce de résistance? Then register through our online calendar to pick up a mini artist kit starting Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 27 (while supplies last).

Return your mini painting to the library by Friday, January 3 to be part of the 2nd Annual Tiny Art Show exhibit that will run from Wednesday, January 15 through the end of February.

The mini artist kit includes: a 3"x3" canvas, brushes, and a small form to tell us about the inspiration behind your painting. Artists must supply their own paints or other materials.

A limited number of kits will be available so registration is required. One kit per person. Artists will be able to pick up their pieces after the show.

This course (or its online equivalent) is required in order to use the 3D Printer in the Innovation Zone. You will be required to present proof of course completion and a satisfactory score on the final exam in order to use the machine.
