Gateway to the Globe
NEW MULTICULTURAL CELEBRATION ON SATURDAY, MARCH 23
Travel the world. Explore fascinating cultures. Learn about traditions near and far. Do it all in the Historical Park on Saturday, March 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gateway to the Globe, the City’s first-of-its-kind celebration promoting the cultures of residents in Farmers Branch and the greater North Texas region.

Gateway to the Globe will feature exhibits, food trucks and live performances representing multiple countries, including Mexico, Cambodia, Ukraine, Turkey, Japan, Sri Lanka, Germany, India and China. For kids’ entertainment, activities will include a “Children of the World” puppet show, the Creature Teacher, face painting and a life-sized globe pinata. Well-known international chalk artist Santos Lozano will also participate, creating his captivating works of art. Admission and parking to Gateway to the Globe is free. Easter Happenings
ADULT EGG HUNT
Friday, March 22 | 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. | Historical Park | Ages 21+
$30 ticket includes one adult beverage and refreshments
Egg hunts aren’t just for kids! Enjoy a night of old-fashioned fun as eager adults fiercely compete for prize-holding eggs.
Egg-collection containers will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and wear running shoes. Registration and a valid ID is required to participate. Visit fbhistoricalpark.com.
EASTER BUNNY MAKES HOUSE CALLS
Saturday, March 30 | $25 for residents; $29 for non-residents
The Easter bunny is ready to hop on over to your house!
How egg-citing!
Each household will receive 20 filled eggs with small candies, one letter from the Easter Bunny, a brief outdoor meet-and-greet and a photo opportunity (weather permitting).
Time slots begin at 8 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. Availability is limited to a five-mile radius of the Community Recreation Center.
Resident reservations begin February 1; and, if time slots are still available, registration will open to non-residents on February 22.

Celebrating 112 years of Girl Scouts
The Historical Park is hosting a Girl Scouts celebration on Thursday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. The come-and-go event will include a morning party, crafts and SWAPS.
Participants are also encouraged to bring a party supply donation, such as decorations or cake mixes, which will benefit Metrocrest Services. Registration is required, and the $20 fee includes the Girl Scout Birthday in a Bag patch. To register, visit fbhistoricalpark.com. For more information, call 972-406-0184.

During Bulk Pickup Week, March 4-8, the Green Grabber will pick up bulk items such as furniture, large appliances, and other items that cannot be placed in a garbage bag. Visit farmersbranchtx.gov/brushbulky for more information.
Shredding EVent
Saturday, March 2 | 9 – 11 a.m. | City Hall | Residents Only
Residents can responsibly and securely discard household documents free of binders, clips and magnets. Only sensitive documents should be brought to the event. Magazines, junk mail and any other non-sensitive documents should be recycled or disposed of using normal collection services.
Seeking Donations
The Historical Park is stuffing birthday boxes for Metrocrest Services and needs donated items such as signed birthday cards, cake mixes and icing, candles, plates, napkins and party decorations. Items can be dropped off at the Historical Park during the following times:
• March 4-8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• March 9-10 from 1 to 4 p.m.
