In response to requests from residents, the City Commission recently amended the Waste Pro agreement to allow residents to use their blue recycling carts for co-mingled solid waste and recyclable debris. Beginning May 1, 2022, for an extra fee of $2.00 per month, which will be billed on the resident’s monthly water or sanitation invoice, residents may elect to participate and place their blue cart out for service on a once weekly basis, on the day previously assigned as their recycling day. To request this “blue cart service” please contact the city’s hauler Waste Pro at 954-967-4200. Residents will
need to provide Waste Pro with City of Pembroke Pines account # located on resident’s monthly water or sanitation bill; Resident name, address and phone #. After Waste Pro receives this request they will affix a decal to the resident’s blue cart which can now be placed out for service on the next previously assigned recycling day. Residents cannot place the blue cart out for service until the decal has been affixed to the cart. Residents who DO NOT need the use of their blue cart and no longer wish to keep it at their home should contact the City’s Public Services Department at 954-518-9060 to request removal of the recycling cart.
