Hazardous Waste
In response to requests from residents, the City Commission recently amended the Waste Pro agreement to allow residents to use their blue recycling carts for co-mingled solid waste and recyclable debris.
Beginning May 1, 2022, for an extra fee of $2.00 per month, which will be billed on the resident’s monthly water or sanitation invoice, residents may elect to participate and place their blue cart out for service on a once weekly basis, on the day previously assigned as their recycling day.

After Waste Pro receives this request they will a x a decal to the resident’s blue cart which can now be placed out for service on the next previously assigned recycling day. Residents cannot place the blue cart out for service until the decal has been a xed to the cart.
Residents who DO NOT need the use of their blue cart and no longer wish to keep it at their home should contact the City’s Public Services Department at 954-518-9060 to request removal of the recycling cart.

The property manager shared the following suggestion to reduce the bulk when recycling water bottles. The technique is simple and reduces the bulk signi cantly.
Loosen the bottle cap to allow air to come out
Compress bottle between the palms of both hands When the bottle is maximally compressed, tighten the bottle cap.
You should now have a fully compressed bottle taking up less than a third of the bulk space of a non compressed bottle.
