Hey Family, You Are Not Alone
Today, I want to share something powerful with you from Nahum 1. Life can feel like a battlefield sometimes. We face challenges at work, in our families, and even within ourselves. But just as God moved for Judah, He will surely move for you. Let's break this down together and see how Nahum's prophecy can light a fire in our spirits today.
The Power of a Jealous God
In Nahum 1:2, it says, "The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath." This might sound intense, but let's break it down. God’s jealousy isn’t like human jealousy. It’s about His fierce love and protection for us. He won't let anything or anyone stand in the way of His plans for you.
Imagine this: Nineveh was like that big, bad bully in the playground, causing havoc and fear. They were ruthless and oppressive. But God, in His powerful love, said enough is enough. He saw the suffering of His people, and He acted. Just like He will act for you.
God’s Majestic Power: The Ultimate Protector
In verses 3-6, we see descriptions of God’s immense power. He controls the whirlwind and the storm, mountains
quake before Him, and the earth trembles. This is the God who fights for you. When life feels overwhelming, remember who’s on your side. The One who commands the storms is the same One who protects you.
I remember a time when everything seemed to fall apart. Bills piled up, relationships strained, and my spirit was weary. But in those moments, I held onto Nahum 1:7, "The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him." And let me tell you, He showed up. Not always in the way I expected, but always right on time.
Celebrating in the Midst of Chaos
Verses 12-15 offer a promise of hope. God tells Judah that although they’ve been afflicted, their oppressors will be cut off. He promises freedom and peace. It’s easy to get discouraged when life’s battles seem endless. But just like God promised Judah deliverance, He promises you the same. In my own life, I’m believing for breakthroughs. My foes—be it doubt, fear, or real adversaries—may attack, and at times, it looks bleak. But I know my God. What He did for Judah, He’ll do for me and you. He sees our struggles and He is faithful to His word.
Living the Promise
When God moved against Nineveh, it was a fulfillment of His promise and that same God is moving in your life. Your current situation is not your final destination. So, lift your head high. Celebrate because your deliverance is near.
Affirmations
1. "I am protected and loved by a powerful God who fights my battles and brings me peace."
2. "In the midst of chaos, I find refuge and strength in God’s unwavering promises."
Did You Know?
Did you know that Nineveh’s destruction was so complete that it was lost to history for centuries, only to be rediscovered by archaeologists in the 19th century? This underscores the power and finality of God’s judgment as prophesied by Nahum.
Remember, family, just like He moved for Judah, God is moving for you. Stay strong, stay hopeful and keep celebrating because your deliverance is on the way. So, don’t wait til the battle is over you can go ahead and shout now! I’m here to tell you in the end with God on your side you most definitely will WIN!
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being our protector and refuge. Help us to trust in Your promises and find peace in Your presence. Give us strength to face our battles, knowing that You fight for us. Fill our hearts with hope and joy as we celebrate Your faithfulness. By the Savior's stripes and His blood. In Jesus' Name. Amen, Amen and Amen.

Small Business Finances
By Kathy Pleasant Senior Vice President Director of SBA Lending Republic Bank & Trust
How do you determine eligibility for small business loans?
Well we look at a number of things such as :
● the borrower’s ability to repay the loan from business financial information (historical or projected),
● the borrowers experience or background,
● current debt for the business and personal
● there any outside income and
● credit scores
● personal net worth or available collateral
Are there any special programs or incentives for small businesses looking to borrow money?
Yes, I specialize in SBA (Small Business Administration) lending and there are many programs available that a borrower should be aware of i.e.
● Programs that assist with longer terms (to provide lower monthly payments)
● Programs that assist with collateral shortfalls (SBA will never decline for not having collateral but will ask for all available in most cases)
● Programs that assist with less money down and flexible financing
Can you provide guidance on choosing the right type of account for my business's financial needs?
Yes, I like to say that I want to be a trusted advisor for small businesses, and I’m also associated with a team of experts that depends on the specific need of the business owner. We listen to you and then advise you on how to meet your financial needs.
How do you support businesses in managing cash flow effectively?
We assign a trusted advisor (commercial banking officer) to the client from the banksomeone with experience in working with same industries. Also, it is highly suggested that the borrower has a reputable CPA or accountant. If they do not have one, we could make a few recommendations.
How do banks compare to credit unions?
Banks are regulated differently than credit unions. Generally, a bank may have more commercial banking experience on staff than credit unions but not always. In general, a bank may have more experience with SBA lending products than a credit union but not always. Banks may offer more variety in loans and other financial products and may have larger networks that can make banking more convenient.
Senior Vice President Of SBA Lending with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. Kathy oversees the SBA lending efforts in KY, Southern IN, Cincinnati, OH, Tampa Bay area in Florida and Nashville, TN. Some of her responsibilities include commercial loan production, developing small business lending and other govt. enhanced programs.

Being Optimistic to Live By Faith
Pastor David L. Smith www.NewBethlehem.org
The dictionary defines the word optimistic to mean “hopeful and confident about the future.” A Famous Quote:
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Faith wins acceptance and reward from God. Basically, both the Old and the New Testament view faith as mankind’s trust in God.
We have faith and confidence in people, places and things. However, people, places and things are of this world. And things of this world are temporal and will pass away.
Having faith is a complete trust or confidence in Jesus Christ. Why is this definition of faith so important? Because “without faith, it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). “Without faith, we cannot be saved (John 3:16).” “Without faith, the Christian life cannot be what God intends it to be (John 10:10).”
Being optimistic is living by faith and looking beyond your current situation, putting your total trust in the promises of God’s Holy Word. Remember, “So then Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17 (KJV)).
Can I be real, sometimes we are optimistic about faith when we are applying for a car or house loan hoping and praying to get approved when the real issue is paying your bills on time so your credit score can be improved. There are times when faith is not necessary when you have money in the bank or gas in your car to take you from point A to point B. However, in the Christian life, it’s important to exercise your faith when your children are going astray, and you know you have sacrificed for them and brought them up in the Lord. It’s important to have faith when you have an illness or disease, and it seems like you can’t get well. It’s important to have faith when you’re down to your last dime and don’t know where you next dollar is coming from. It’s important to have faith when your marriage or relationship is falling apart.
It’s important to have faith when you are praying and it seems as if God is not hearing or responding to your partition and supplications.
The biblical definition of faith does not apply only to salvation, it is equally applicable to the rest of our Christian life. We are to believe what the Bible says and obey it. It’s essential to believe the promises of God and live accordingly. We are to agree with the truth of God’s Word, and allow ourselves to be transformed by it (Romans 12:2). Hebrews 11:6 states that it is impossible to please God without faith. What is it
ourselves for answers. Faith drives us to look to God and place our hope and trust in Him. Faith also pleases God because it creates an opportunity for him to reveal his power.
In closing, I encourage you as the song writer Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago sings, Hold on and Keep the Faith. Be Blessed because the best is yet to come.

Pale Yellow is Trending
By Velvet Randles, Health & Temperance Ldr New Jerusalem SDA Church Radcliff, Ky
While window shopping at CarMax, I compared many makes, models, and possible fuel costs. Many of the luxury vehicles require premium fuel to attain peak performance. God designed people to be able to achieve peak performance with proper hydration and healthy food, among other things. Today, the focus is on proper hydration. Clear water is the drink of choice.
Many excuses are often shared to justify not increasing one's water intake. For example: too many bathroom visits, prefer to not use a public toilet, or water just doesn’t taste good. Those are valid concerns. Consider a few, possible benefits. Constipation, aching joints, headaches, brain fog, and dry skin might be relieved with a simple increase of water. Weight loss may occur by simply ingesting more water. Imagine that.
According to the National Library of Medicine, our bodies are 40 - 70%
water, depending on our gender, age, etc. Each body system requires sufficient water to function properly. So, how much water is enough?
“Each person is unique. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvelous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.”
Psalm 139:14 (KJV)
A popular trend is to drink one gallon or 8 glasses of water daily or to consume half one’s body weight, in ounces of water. Instead of gulping an entire glass of water in one setting, consider drinking a mouthful every half hour or so. One may need more or less depending on their activity level, age, and other circumstances. Please consult with your primary care provider before making adjustments. Sometimes, simple inexpensive remedies can make big impacts. Are you trending pale yellow? Only you know the answer. Health is wealth.

WHY ARE SO MANY BLACK PATIENTS DYING OF SKIN CANCER?
By Karla Jarvis, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Host of Karla’s Korner www.envision-radio.com
Patients and providers often don't recognize skin cancer on darker skin. I see the health inequities that have disproportionately harmed patients quite a bit. Patients of color are diagnosed with late-stage skin cancer; I believe may have been better treated if it had been detected earlier.
Because of a lack of awareness of the risks of skin cancer among Black people and clinicians’ lack of experience diagnosing skin conditions in people with darker skin, melanoma for Black patients can go untreated far longer than when it’s identified for White patients. Black people are far less likely to develop melanoma than non-Hispanic White people (at a rate of 1 per 100,000 compared to 30 per 100,000) due to the protection that melanin, the body’s natural skin pigment, provides from damaging ultraviolet rays. However, Black people who do develop the cancer have a much lower five-year survival rate.
Raising awareness among people of color and their health care providers about how to spot melanoma and other concerning skin conditions early, as well as improving access to health care for people of color, could go a long way in reducing the existing disparities.
I recommend people of color should use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher for daily use. If you’re going to be outside for prolonged periods of time, go for one with a higher SPF (greater than 50). Also, use a mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in them.
Remember if you see anything new on the skin or a spot/mole has changed it shape or color please see a Dermatologist right away.

IS IT YOUR LENSES OR YOUR EYES?
By Julia Royston Host of Live Your Best LIfe & The Book Business Boss Show
www.juliaroyston.net
I have worn glasses since I was eight years old. Before technology was advanced, I wore glasses with very thick lenses. You’re supposed to have 20/20 vision, at eight years old, my eyes had 200/200 vision. Over the years, it has gotten worse but I’m now in my 60’s, my sight has stabilized and only fluctuates in small increments. Fortunately, technology has advance so that I now look cute in my glasses. Sometimes I can’t see clearly because my lenses have gotten dirty. With a spray bottle and special cloth, I can see crystal clear again. Every two to three years, the simple cleaning of my lenses won’t do, I need new lenses. I need a check-up. I need the specialist to actually look at my eyes, dilate my pupils and take a thorough look. I need my eyes to be right for business and life. I have vision insurance so that I can get the proper care for my eyes.
So, it is the lenses or your eyes? If you don’t wear glasses, is it your eyes or the lenses of life that is not clear? Do you see a bright future or do you see life only getting worse and never better? I have been places with people looking at the
same thing at the same time and they see something totally different from me. At times, it can be what I’m focusing on verses what they’re focusing on that makes the difference. At other times, we saw the exact same thing but with different lenses and eyes seeing totally different. What do you see? Is it time for a check-up or to seek the eye doctor for guidance so that you can live your best life? It might be your eyes but it could be your life lenses. Make that appointment soon so that you can see clearly and live that best life for you.
Should You get Your Brows Done?
By Sherry Louis MUA
Getting your eyebrows done is a grooming task that may seem trivial to some, but it can make a significant difference in your overall appearance.
Well-maintained eyebrows can enhance your facial features and frame your eyes, making you look more polished and put-together.
One of the main reasons why getting your eyebrows done is important is that they can help define your facial structure. The shape of your eyebrows can either complement or detract from your natural beauty. By getting your eyebrows shaped and groomed professionally, you can ensure that they are perfectly suited to your face shape and enhance your features.
Having well-groomed eyebrows can also save you time and effort in your daily makeup routine. When your eyebrows are shaped and filled in, you may find that you need less makeup overall to achieve a polished look. Defined eyebrows can help create a more balanced and symmetrical appearance,
reducing the need for heavy eye makeup or other enhancements.
Furthermore, getting your eyebrows done can boost your confidence and self-esteem. When you look in the mirror and see neatly groomed eyebrows that enhance your natural beauty, you are likely to feel more confident in your appearance. This boost in confidence can have a positive impact on various aspects of your life, from your professional career to your personal relationships.
In conclusion, getting your eyebrows done is not just a beauty trend; it is an important grooming practice that can enhance your overall appearance and boost your confidence. Whether you prefer waxing, threading, tinting, or shaping, taking care of your eyebrows is a simple yet effective way to elevate your look and feel your best.

I met with the Radcliff North Hardin Ministerial Association and asked the pastors to support the Juneteenth and the State Convention by attending and
soliciting their members to join the organization. I asked them to have their youth take part in the Junior NAACP Hardin County Branch and give them an opportunity to understand voting, offices of president, vice president and learning how to function on committees.
I visited North Hardin High School and asked if I could speak with the youth about joining the Junior NAACP Hardin County Branch and talk to them about Brother To Brother and the Alpha Omega Sigma Chapter, Fort Knox, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. I discussed with them to have the three-tier program to teach the young men on all facet of life: financial stewardship, self-esteem, mentoring in their perspective career field, spiritual education, civil rights struggles, voting rights, and understanding of the legislative process.
I have secured tables for us to have applications and discussions about each program at open house at North Hardin High School. I want us to increase in membership and grow in respecting one another’s gift and remove self out of the equation and build a bigger stronger NAACP Hardin County Branch brand!
