Rosnerweg 201, 6020 Innsbruck. The address doesn‘t exactly sound like it‘s in the high mountains, but the Pfeishütte is right in the middle of the Karwendel mountains. The Alpine Club hut, built in 1925, is beautifully situated and offers modern comforts despite its age. The easiest way to reach the hut is via the Goetheweg from the Hafelekar mountain station. Duration: about 2.5 hours.

Arzler Alm

From the Umbrüggler it is a 30-to-45-minute walk along an almost level path to the Arzler Alm, the last of the classic Innsbruck Nordkette huts. It has a lovely terrace with shady chestnut trees, a great playground for children and a rabbit to pet. If you visit the hut on a day when it is closed, you will not go hungry as there is a snack and drinks machine.

Pfeish Tte

Rosnerweg 201, 6020 Innsbruck. Die Adresse klingt nicht gerade nach Hochgebirge, doch tatsächlich verbirgt sich dahinter die Pfeishütte mitten im Karwendel. Wunderschön gelegen bietet das Alpenvereins-Schutzhaus aus dem Jahr 1925 trotz seines Alters modernen Komfort. Am leichtesten erreicht man die Hütte über den Goetheweg von der Hafelekar-Bergstation aus. Dauer: rund 2,5 Stunden.

ARZLER ALM

Von der Umbrüggler geht es in etwa 30 bis 45 Minuten fast eben weiter zur Arzler Alm, der letzten im Bunde der klassischen Innsbrucker Nordketten-Almen. Sie bietet eine schöne Terrasse mit schattigen Kastanienbäumen, für Kinder zudem einen tollen Spielplatz und Hasen zum Streicheln. Wer an den Schließtagen zur Alm kommt, muss dennoch nicht verhungern: Es gibt einen Snack- und Getränkeautomaten.

Umbr Ggler Alm

Legend has it that the Umbrüggler Alm was once home to a ghost who liked to cause mischief: the Kasermandl. At the time, the hut was old, but today it is a modern gem, and not just architecturally. Tenants Sonja and Thomas and their young team are now the - good - spirits of the hut. Not to mention that they serve up top cuisine. The hut can be reached in 30 to 45 minutes from the Hungerburg.

Umbr Ggler Alm

Auf der Umbrüggler Alm hauste eins der Sage nach ein Geist, der gerne Unheil stiftete: das Kasermandl. Damals war die Alm allerdings alt, heute ist sie nicht nur architektonisch ein modernes Schmuckstück. Wenn man so will, sind nun die Pächter Sonja und Thomas mit ihrem jungen Team die – guten – Geister der Hütte. Ganz abgesehen davon, dass sie Spitzenküche auf die Teller bringen. Die Alm ist in 30 bis 45 Minuten von der Hungerburg aus erreichbar.

Boscheben

Boscheben may be called an alpine guesthouse, but it is in fact one of the most traditional mountain huts in the Innsbruck area. It has only had an ecological electricity supply for a few years, but every litre of water still must be hauled up from the Viggartal by mountain lift. The easiest way to reach Boscheben is from the top station of the Patscherkofel lift in about 45 minutes on the wellknown Zirbenweg path.

Lanser Alm

Lanser Alm has new tenants this year. Lisa and Oli from Freising in Bavaria are no strangers to the Patscherkofel area, having worked at Boscheben and Meißner Haus. That‘s what makes a visit to Innsbruck‘s alpine huts so friendly: people know each other, see each other again and are happy to reconnect. The easiest way to reach the hut is to walk downhill from the Patscherkofel top station in about an hour.

Boscheben

Boscheben trägt zwar den Namen Almgasthaus, ist in Wahrheit aber eine der besonders urigen Hütten rund um Innsbruck. Erst seit wenigen Jahren hat sie eine ökologische Stromversorgung, jeder Liter Wasser muss allerdings immer noch mit der Materialseilbahn aus dem Viggartal heraufgeschafft werden. Am einfachsten zu erreichen ist Boscheben von der Bergstation der Patscherkofelbahn in etwa 45 Minuten auf dem bekannten Zirbenweg.

Die Lanser Alm hat mit dem heurigen Jahr neue Pächter bekommen. Rund um den Patscherkofel sind Lisa und Oli aus dem bayrischen Freising beileibe keine Unbekannten, haben sie doch schon auf Boscheben und dem Meißner Haus gewerkt. Am einfachsten zu erreichen ist die Alm von der Patscherkofel-Bergstation in einer Stunde (abwärts gehend).
