NSPCC Dyserth District Hello again everyone and greetings from all the volunteers at the NSPCC shop in Dyserth. We know that not everyone has come away unscathed from the recent atrocious weather, but we do wish those affected that you quickly get back to normal. On a better news front, our shop, and therefore our volunteers, have been nominated for the prestigious Esther Award, which is part of the NSPCC People Awards 2023. This big event will be held on 21st November and we plan to join in the celebrations “virtually” at the Bowling Club. Of course, by the time you read this the event will have happened. So, it could be, WOW!!! BRILLIANT!!! or just, “oh well, never mind”. Either way, it is a remarkable achievement just to be nominated. Little Dyserth up there with the big boys!! But it’s not just us that should feel proud, this is a reflection of the generosity of our community as a whole. There’s the vast amount of donations dropped off for us to sell, then there’s those who spend their hard-earned money in the shop. Combine that with our dedicated volunteers and that is why we are so successful. So, take a well-earned pat on the back for all who contribute in which ever way. Thank you. Like music? Well, on 6th. December there is a NSPCC Christmas Concert at St Asaph Cathedral. What a venue! Don’t miss out. Tickets are available on-line or from the shop. Please note, this is a ticket only event and no tickets will be sold at the door on the evening. Sorry. Keeping our children safe when using the internet has been given a boost with the The Online Safety Act receiving Royal Assent on 26th October. For more information, go to our web site and click on Keeping Children Safe Online. Just a reminder. Thank you again for the items you donate, but please don’t leave them unattended outside the shop. May all of us, wish all of you, a most enjoyable and safe Christmas, and for the New Year to bring with it what you want from it. The Dyserth NSPCC volunteers xx
