A SEASON STOPPED SHORT The Los Angeles Chargers finished their season with a 13-12 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs on Jan. 7, 2024. The Chargers ended the regular season with a 5-12 record and are now in the business of looking for a new head coach and general manager. The Chargers fired head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco before the season ended. One of two Los Angeles-based NFL teams, the Chargers figure to extend their philanthropy hands to local communities and organizations. COMPTON COURTHOUSE REMAINS CLOSED DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE
Matters scheduled to be heard in Compton through January 12 will Be temporarily reassigned to other courthouses The Compton Courthouse, located at 200 W. Compton Blvd., Compton, will remain closed through Friday, Jan. 12 as a result of damage to courtrooms, clerk’s offices, public spaces and the courthouse’s public elevator systems, which were rendered inoperable, because of a significant indoor flood that occurred over the New Year’s weekend.

Courthouse departments through January 12 should consult the table below regarding temporary reassignment information. Parties in all cases will be notified of any transfers or continuances either by counsel or in person should they visit the Compton Courthouse. Parties not notified by counsel or in person will be sent formal notices via the U.S. mail. Parties may also check the status of their case using the court’s online services, or by calling (310) 761-4300 for assistance. Court staff remain available during business hours for assistance in the lobby of the Compton Courthouse. should consult the table below for alternative filing locations. Those unable to file at alternative filing locations will be assisted in the lobby of the Compton Courthouse. Self-represented parties with civil (including small claims and unlawful detainer) and family law filings should consider using the court’s electronic filing (efiling) options, outlined here. Mandatory efiling for represented parties in civil and family law cases remains in place.
