OPENS ELDERLY CARE FACILITY IN COMPTON The new facility is the city’s first Alternative Care Setting (ACS) and features several of the care services offered at AltaMed PACE Centers

LTAMED Health Services has opened its first Alternative Care Setting (ACS) to provide participants enrolled in their Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) an additional place for them to access required

services designated by their interdisciplinary care team closer to home. The almost 10,000-square-foot facility, located at 2616 E. Alondra Blvd., is the first PACE location in Compton and will serve up to 150 AltaMed PACE participants who live in the area. A community grand opening celebration with food, entertainment, raffle prizes, and facility tours took place on Saturday, Dec. 9. In addition to having on-site skilled nursing care by a team of specialists highly trained and experienced in working with seniors, the new facility will feature a spacious day floor for recreational and social activities, exercise classes, arts and crafts, meals and n AltaMed, see page 3

In 2020, CJEC worked alongside California Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley Weber, when she was an Assemblymember representing the 79th District in San Diego, to author and enact Assembly Bill (AB) 3121. Compton hosts 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway & Community Bulk Day CITY CELEBRATES THE SPIRIT OF GIVING AND PARTICIPATES IN COMMUNITY CLEANUP EFFORTS Compton, CA – On Saturday, Dec. 16, the City of Compton hosted two outstanding events that united the community in a spirit of celebration and generosity: the 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway and Community Bulk Day. The 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway transformed the newly named Eazy Street into a hub of holiday cheer, as families and children came together to revel in the festivities and receive delightful holiday gifts.

From books to electronics and fun games, children were delighted with an array of new toys. The city collected over 4000 toys for children, making it a joyous occasion for everyone involved. "Compton has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering joy and unity within our community," said City of Compton Mayor Emma Sharif.
