The Holy Father’s August Prayer Intentions
God’s love is unconditional, and nobody is excluded from it. Jesus, the God made flesh, the God of the unrepeatable sacrifice at Calvary, is a God quite close to those in need. This is the same God that invites us today to sit in the front seats at the table of the Eucharist. Once we have decided to enter, and to be seated before God, we become the poor, the crippled, or the blind.
It is here, at the Eucharistic banquet offered by the Church on behalf of Christ, the place where the bread came down from heaven is eternally offered. This is the place where the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world is offered for the many. This is the Altar of the sacrifice where the chalice of the new and eternal covenant is shared. This is the banquet where the gospel is proclaimed, where the apostolic letters, the Mosaic books, and the writings of the prophets are read for the salvation of the world, Sunday after Sunday. This is the banquet where humble people come together. It is here that we all are the same, a place with no distinctions. This is a place where neither class, nor gender, nor nationality, nor social status are important elements to consider. And still, the celebration where there is enough food for everyone, without considering the place where we are seated. It is only by receiving the true food, and the true drink, that we will be able to go into the world and humbly proclaim before creation: “My Lord, and my God!”

Es este el banquete eucarístico ofrecido por la Iglesia en nombre de Cristo mismo, el lugar en donde el pan vivo bajado del cielo es eternamente ofrecido. Es este el lugar en donde el Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo es ofrecido por ustedes, y por muchos. Es este el Altar del sacrificio en donde el Cáliz de la Alianza Nueva y Eterna es compartido. Es este el banquete en donde Domingo a Domingo el Evangelio es proclamado, las Cartas apostólicas, la Ley de Moisés, y los escritos de los profetas son leídas para la salvación del mundo.

Santo
Es este el banquete donde todos somos iguales, en donde la gente humilde se sienta junta, y donde no hay lugar para distinciones. Es este el lugar en donde el color, el género, la nacionalidad, o la clase social son elementos irrelevantes; aun así, la comida alcanza para todos, sin importar el lugar en donde nos hayamos sentado. Será solo nutriéndonos de la verdadera comida y la verdadera bebida, aquí ofrecidas, que seremos capaces de caminar siempre exclamando: “Señor mío, y Dios mío!” ¡El que se humilla será enaltecido!
La sabiduría de Dios nos enseña como una persona, entre más grande sea, mayorhumildad necesitará. El amor divino es incondicional, y nadie estamos excluidos de él. Jesús, Dios hecho hombre, la víctima misma del irrepetible sacrificio en el Calvario, es un Dios muy cercano a todo el necesitado. Es este el mismo Dios que hoy nos invita a sentarnos en los lugares importantes en el banquete de la eucaristía. Si nos decidimos a entrar, y a sentarnos delante de Dios, nos convertimos en el pobre, en el tullido, en el ciego.

Khiêm tốn nghĩa là nhận ra ưu điểm đồng thời cũng nhận ra khuyết điểm và yếu điểm của mình. Khiêm tốn thì không ích kỷ, Cũng không đánh giá quá cao Những khả năng con người. Tình yêu Thiên Chúa thì không có điều kiện và không loại trừ bất cứ ai. Đức Giêsu là Thiên Chúa nhập thể, là đứng cứu độ duy nhất đã hiến mình trên núi Sọ. Ngài cũng là Thiên Chúa thật gần gũi với những người cần đến Ngài. Và cũng chính Thiên Chúa, hôm nay đang mời gọi chúng ta đến với bàn tiệc thánh của Ngài. Một khi chúng ta quyết định vào dự tiệc và được đối diện với Chúa, ấy lúc chúng ta quả là người nghèo, người què, hoặc là người mù! Chính nơi, giáo hội cử hành bàn tiệc thánh thay mặt Chúa Kitô, chính nơi Bánh Từ Trời ban cho sự sống đời đời, và cũng là nơi Con Chiên Thiên Chúa đấng gánh tội trần gian được ban tặng cho muôn người. Nơi bàn tiệc hiến tế nầy, nơi chén cứu độ giao ước mới được chia sẻ; Nơi bàn tiệc này Phúc âm được tuyên xưng, cũng là nơi thư của các thánh Tông Đồ, các sách thánh, và các sách các tiên tri được đọc để ban ơn cứu độ cho thế giới trong các ngày Chúa nhật.
