PRESIDENT | CEO UPDATE
Terri Kimble
In November, we are gearing up for the Chandler 100: State of the Business Community, which will take place at the end of the month. The Chamber along with the City of Chandler and other dignitaries will recognize large and small employers who have contributed to the economic success of our growing community. We will be turning an empty vacant office space into a high-end event venue featuring interactive entertainment, networking opportunities, and delicious food that you will not want to miss. Chandler 100 creates a space where outstanding companies in our community can mingle, connect, and celebrate their successes. There will be a brief presentation from the Chandler Chamber and dignitaries thanking the featured companies; following this, employers will be able to pick up their trophy and capture a picture with their team and the Mayor. The open-house structure of the event accommodates for the busy schedule of working professionals and allows ample time for attendees to engage with one another, sample the food, and enjoy the entertainment. Chandler is a great place to work, live, and play because of our incredible business community. Join us on November 29th to meet, recognize, and learn about some of the top employers in Chandler! Welcome Back!!! After moving with my family from the east coast to Arizona in the early ‘90’s, I went out searching for a job. I was looking for something that would be both interesting and challenging…I found it when I walked in the door at a valley Chamber of Commerce. I had the opportunity to learn every position possible, so I learned about the Chamber from the ground up. Moving to Chandler opened the opportunity to work at the Chandler Chamber where I met the most amazing members and was lucky to work with an incredible staff. If you’ve never worked at a Chamber you can’t possibly know how each and every day brings a new challenge, new opportunity, or the chance to meet and learn about a new business…I can honestly say that no two days are the same and you never get bored! After a decade at Chandler and 29 years in the Chamber world, I thought it was a time to step back and retire…enjoy family, grandchildren, and catch up on some things I had put off for ‘someday’. After a year and a half of ‘retirement’ I realized how much I missed the members, the challenges, the events, and especially the staff which had always been like an extended family. So I picked up the phone and called Terri…and was ecstatic when she said yes, come back…you can work on projects. So with a new role in a Chamber I love, I’m back.

Making Small Business Saturday a Way of Life By: Mayor Kevin Hartke
In the tapestry of our community, small businesses are the vibrant threads that add color, character and a unique identity to Chandler. As passionate contributors to our local economy, Chandler Chamber members understand the profound impact these businesses have on our lives. Supporting small businesses isn’t just about commerce; it’s about fostering dreams, nurturing innovation and ensuring the prosperity of our community. Moreover, when we support small businesses, we are reinvesting in our community. Choosing to buy from small businesses is a pledge to empower the talented people of Chandler. It’s an investment in the dreams of our neighbors and the future of our children. The personalized service, attention to detail and warmth that small businesses offer, creates an experience that goes beyond transactions – it builds relationships. Later this month, we’ll celebrate Small Business Saturday, a cherished tradition in our city. It signifies the healthy spirit of entrepreneurship in Chandler. It’s a day when our community comes together to explore the treasures tucked away in our local shops, dine at neighborhood restaurants and discover the craftsmanship of local artisans. As Chamber members, you champion the cause of small businesses. During the upcoming holiday season, let us amplify their voices, share their stories and encourage our community to shop local. Together, we can make Small Business Saturday not just a day on the calendar but a way of life. By embracing our local businesses, we are not just consumers; we are stewards of our community’s prosperity. Thank you for your dedication to our community, and a thriving future through the vibrancy of our small businesses.

Public Policy
POLICY IMPACT SERIES As part of our Policy Impact Series, the Chamber heard from our state representatives on a wide-variety of issues. Chandler’s Legislative Districts 12 & 13 spoke about Arizona’s critically important issues such as water resources, transportation infrastructure, education and housing. Senators J.D. Mesnard and Mitzi Epstein, as well as Representatives Jennifer Pawlik, Patricia Contreras, Stacy Travers, and Julie Willoughby, agreed that each of these issues are paramount to the success of Chandler and the great state of Arizona. Commissioner Lea Marquez Peterson also provided insights on energy conservation and diversification efforts in Arizona, as a member of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Transportation continues to be a priority for lawmakers. Arizona legislators compromised to allow Maricopa County voters to choose whether to extend the county sales tax that funds transportation projects across the region. Proposition 400 is critical for the continued development of transportation infrastructure to attract and maintain Arizona’s rapid growth and economic vitality.
next legislative session. Despite the current political divide, lawmakers share a sense of optimism about critical issues and their fortitude to overcome challenges. Our elected officials remain acutely aware of the profound significance of these challenges for both Arizona businesses and the state as a whole. As the visionary voice of business in Chandler, the Chamber understands the critical importance to foster and maintain open lines of communication with our elected officials.
Lawmakers acknowledged that Arizona must be fervent in its effort to acquire and protect its water resources. While they recognized the limitations of river water allocation at the federal level, lawmakers are eager to explore innovative conservation methods during the

Additionally, ONE Community recognizes past collaborative efforts that led to the passage of ten municipal ordinances that updated or created nondiscrimination policies over the past ten years.
