Community Update

Terri Kimble President | CEO
As summer sets in, many of us look forward to vacations, family time, and a slower pace. However, for many local businesses, this season can be especially challenging.
With fewer people out and about, the dip in foot traffic often means a sharp decline in revenue. The Chamber is committed to raising awareness around this seasonal shift and encouraging our community to continue supporting local businesses, even during the summer slowdown.
Whether you’re heading out of town or staying close to home, there are simple ways to make a big difference. Grab your morning coffee from a local café, plan a lunch at a Chandler eatery, or stop into a boutique you haven’t visited before. These simple choices help keep our business community thriving.
Your continued support sustains jobs, families, and the unique spirit of Chandler. Let’s keep investing in our neighbors—one local purchase at a time.

2025 Men of Chandler Recap

Women In Leadership and Chandler City Lifestyles recently honored the 2025 Men Of Chandler at SoHo63! It was a meaningful afternoon recognizing twelve outstanding men whose impact reaches far beyond their titles. From community volunteers and captains to wrestlers and thriving business owners, each honoree brought a unique story with one thing in common: their devotion to Chandler and to public service.
The event was filled with connection and energy. Attendees gathered to celebrate these changemakers while enjoying refreshments generously provided by Texas Roadhouse. The spirit of the afternoon was one of camaraderie and pride as the room filled with supporters, colleagues, and community leaders eager to recognize the contributions of these individuals.
Guided by Chandler Chamber President and CEO Terri Kimble, each honoree had the opportunity to share their personal journey. These moments highlighted not just their accomplishments, but the heart and character behind the work they do every day.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our sponsors—SoHo63, Intel, and J2 Media—whose support helped make this recognition possible. Events like these continue to showcase the strength and diversity of leadership in Chandler, and we are proud to celebrate those who make our city a better place to live, work, and grow.
Congratulations again to the 2025 Men of Chandler! We are grateful for all you have done for our community.

The ROI of Workplace Wellness: Cultivating Resilient, Thriving Teams
By: Chamber Team

Imagine stepping into a workplace where every leader, manager, and employee not only delivers results—but does so with energy, clarity, and genuine well-being. In today’s dynamic business environment, this is not just aspirational; it is essential for sustainable success. The return on investment (ROI) of workplace wellness has evolved far beyond cost savings—it is now a driving force behind innovation, retention, and organizational impact.
The evidence is clear: companies prioritizing comprehensive wellness programs achieve up to a 2.5x return on investment through heightened productivity, reduced absenteeism, and lower healthcare costs. But the true value runs deeper. Modern wellness encompasses not just physical health, but emotional resilience, social connection, and financial security—each a pillar of a thriving workforce.
The pressures of today’s business world—tight deadlines, high expectations, and constant change—demand a workforce that can adapt and thrive under pressure. This is where mental health professionals play a transformative role. By integrating therapists, wellness coaches, and resilience training into the workplace, organizations empower employees to manage stress, recover from setbacks, and sustain peak performance. These initiatives foster a culture of openness, trust, and psychological safety—a foundation for innovation and collaboration.
The results are undeniable. Wellness-focused workplaces report 24% higher employee satisfaction, improved retention, and a stronger employer brand. For business leaders, the message is urgent: wellness is not an optional benefit, but a core driver of competitive advantage. It sends a powerful signal to your teams that you value people—not just for what they do, but for who they are.
As business executives and HR leaders, the opportunity is yours to set the standard for workplace well-being. By championing wellness as a strategic priority, you inspire other organizations to follow suit, creating a ripple effect that strengthens the entire business ecosystem.
Let us challenge ourselves to build workplaces where every person can thrive. The ROI of workplace wellness is measured not just in dollars, but in the lives we enrich, the communities we uplift, and the legacy we leave behind. Together, we can redefine what it means to succeed—one resilient, empowered team at a time.
Chandler’s Economic Future: A Collaborative Vision

By: Mayor Kevin Hartke
As Mayor of Chandler, I’m proud to share how our city is taking bold steps to ensure long-term economic vitality and prosperity. The City Council approved an agreement last month with Arizona State University’s Seidman Research Institute and Thunderbird School to launch a 20-year Economic Vitality Study, funded by the Chandler Industrial Development Authority.
This forward-looking initiative is designed to identify emerging economic trends, guide industry diversification and ensure Chandler continues to attract top talent and investment. Thanks to collaboration across businesses sectors with academic experts, the study will culminate in early 2026 and feed directly into our General Plan update.
Chandler’s economy is currently faring exceptionally well. Unemployment is still below three percent and vacancies remain extremely low in the retail, industrial and medical office sectors. Our city continues to focus on talent development, industry diversification, infrastructure investment and sustainable growth driven by major investments from private sector companies and developers.
A few statistics that highlight Chandler’s economic resilience include:
-We rank 16th nationally and 1st in Arizona for Foreign Direct Investment.
-Over 27 percent of our workforce is in high-tech industries, well above the East Valley’s average of 15 percent and national average of 10 percent.
-Residents’ educational attainment of a bachelor’s degree or higher is 49 percent, which far exceeds state and national averages and creates opportunities that fuel household income and community prosperity.
Chandler stands at a pivotal moment to build upon a robust economic base and boldly embraces strategic planning that shapes our future. The synergy of the economic vitality study with ASU and our community-driven General Plan update could offer a transformative path.
The General Plan update, which is required every 10 years by state law, covers 17 essential topics, including land use, housing, transportation, open space, water and sustainability. These topics represent pillars of Chandler’s long-term growth as we balance job growth with housing supply and support mixed-use and infill projects with sustainable design, especially along employment corridors. We’re proud to have Chamber Board members Crystal Blackwell and Rick Heumann and Chamber President Terri Kimble serve on the General Plan Resident Advisory Committee.
Insights from Chamber members and the business community matter. Your feedback can shape zoning, development, transportation and amenities that will support Chandler’s next era of opportunity. Together, we’re building not just a stronger economy, but a thriving, inclusive city that sets Chandler apart as a national model of innovation, resilience and shared vision.

Fresh Start for EarthWise Pet Chandler—Stop In Today!

EarthWise Pet Chandler, a locally owned pet supply and grooming salon, has reopened after an electrical fire in February forced a three-month closure for repairs and insurance processing. Grooming and self-wash services are now available, and the retail section is in the process of being restocked.
Owners Amy and Aaron Strunk, longtime pet lovers, opened the store as a family business rooted in holistic pet care and community values. Amy brings over 20 years of pharmaceutical experience, while Aaron, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and software developer, brings a unique skill set to local business ownership. Their adopted children have been actively involved in launching the store, learning values like kindness and generosity along the way.
With a focus on nutrition, wellness, and sustainability, EarthWise Pet offers personalized care for every pet. The Strunks invite the community to visit and follow along for updates, promotions, and holiday gift ideas.

National Fire Control: Raising the Gold Standard in Fire Protection
For more than four decades, National Fire Control has been a consistent presence in fire safety across the Phoenix Metro Area. Founded in 1982 and based in Mesa, Arizona, the company has built a solid reputation for professionalism and reliability in both emergency response and preventative services. Fully licensed, bonded, and insured (ROC #169128, #197132, #165826), it continues to serve a wide range of clients with a focus on dependable protection.
At the core of its operations is a simple mission: to provide peace of mind through fire protection. That commitment drives everything from routine inspections to 24/7 emergency service. For the team, fire safety isn’t just a business—it’s a responsibility rooted in the belief that protecting lives and property is essential work.
National Fire Control also draws on the historical lessons of the industry. The 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, one of the deadliest industrial disasters in U.S. history, serves as a reminder of why modern fire codes and workplace safety standards exist. The company’s approach reflects an understanding that those codes are not just regulations, but responses to real tragedy.
Serving clients across Arizona, the company offers a full range of fire protection services, including fire extinguisher maintenance, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and commercial kitchen suppression. All technicians are CSA and NFPA certified, ensuring that every system installed or maintained meets the latest standards. Whether in Mesa, Scottsdale, Surprise, or anywhere in between, National Fire Control works to deliver consistent and thorough protection.
Kares Foundation: Turning Personal Loss into Lifesaving Purpose
Founded by Todd Lingel, the Kares Foundation was born from tragedy: as a child, Todd lost his mother and sister to a drunk driver. Driven by that profound loss, he has dedicated his life to educating and empowering youth to make safer choices around alcohol, drugs, social media, and distracted driving. Today, Todd travels across schools, churches, and community forums nationwide, sharing a message forged from personal experience.
At its core, Kares Foundation stands as a youth-focused nonprofit, offering education, communication, prevention, and support on sensitive topics including DUI, peer pressure, and digital safety. It aims to save lives one community at a time, confronting hard truths: around 30% of fatal car crashes involve alcohol, and more than half involve drugs.
Kares Foundation’s long-term ambition is to establish “Kamp Kares” in each of the 50 U.S. states—safe environments where teens affected by substance misuse find support and leadership. Plans also include scholarship programs to help students pursue higher education or vocational training.
A New Rhythm in Chandler: Fred Astaire Dance Studio Opens Its Doors

In a city known for growth and connection, Chandler has just welcomed a new kind of gathering place—one built not around food or shopping, but movement.
The newly opened Fred Astaire Dance Studio, part of the nationally recognized franchise founded by dance icon Fred Astaire in 1947, brings a long-standing legacy of ballroom and Latin dance education to the East Valley. While the name carries decades of tradition, the Chandler location is fresh, local, and ready to build something new—step by step.
Inside, the space is open and inviting, designed to be approachable whether you’ve danced before or are stepping onto the floor for the first time. Certified instructors lead classes in a range of styles, including waltz, salsa, swing, tango, and more. But what’s already making this studio stand out is its culture: supportive, non-judgmental, and focused on connection over perfection.
More than just a place to learn dance steps, the studio is poised to become a community hub—a space where singles, couples, and families can come together to move, laugh, and try something outside their comfort zone. From first dance lessons for newlyweds to casual group classes and social events, the goal is simple: make dance accessible and joyful.
Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Chandler may be new to the neighborhood, but its foundation is anything but. It blends nearly 80 years of national expertise with a distinctly local energy—and offers Chandler residents a unique way to connect, not just with music, but with each other.

Ambassadors
July 2025 Ambassador of the month
Elena DeLuz Guild Mortgage
I started in the mortgage industry in 1992, shortly after graduating from University of Hawaii at Hilo. I was born in the Philippines, but lived most of my life in Hawaii and now reside in Chandler since 1994. I volunteer at charitable venues throughout the valley like Paz de Cristo Outreach, Feed My Starving Children, Andre House, United Food Bank, and A New Leaf when possible in hopes of helping others in need.

As a Senior Loan Officer, I like to listen to my clients’ needs in order to provide options with the right mortgage product and their situation. I pride myself in providing excellent customer service, walking clients through the loan process and putting their needs first. I believe in conducting business with transparency and honesty while educating clients with the loan process. I truly love to help make home ownership possible and can help with a refinance as well.
July 2025 Outstanding Ambassadors
Chandler Chamber Ambassador are highly visible volunteers in the East Valley business community. Ambassadors mentor new members, assist in recruiting and retention efforts, and volunteer at Chamber functions such as Ribbon Cuttings, Networking Events and the Ostrich Festival.
