Connect Chandler Chamber
For businesses, residents & tourists

Terri Kimble President | CEO
As we head into the heart of spring, I want to take a moment to highlight one of the most joyful and meaningful traditions in our business community: the Chandler Chamber Community Awards.
This annual event is more than a ceremony. It’s a celebration of the people and businesses who bring Chandler to life. From small startups making their first big leap, to longestablished organizations that continue to raise the bar, the awards are a reminder of the innovation, resilience, and heart that define our city.
This year marks the 38th annual celebration, and we’re turning up the volume with a Pop Art theme. Bright, bold, and impossible to ignore—just like the winners we’re about to honor. You’ll see familiar faces from across the East Valley, from educators and public servants to business leaders and nonprofit changemakers, all taking the stage for a night of well-deserved recognition.
And yes, we’ve been busy behind the scenes surprising many of our winners at their offices. Watch our social media for sneak peeks—but join us May 29 at Gila River Resorts & Casinos for the full celebration. It’s going to be a night to remember.
If you’d like to attend or become a sponsor of this incredible event, visit chandlerchamber.com. Let’s celebrate Chandler’s brightest in true pop-art fashion.

If there’s one constant in our local economy, it’s the strength and tenacity of Chandler’s small business owners. As Board Chair of the Chandler Chamber, I see this every day—in storefronts, in startups, and in stories of businesses evolving to meet new challenges.
Over the past quarter, the Chamber has doubled down on supporting our small business community. From hosting the Chandler Small Business Expo to equipping business owners with strategies on hiring, AI, and marketing, we’re offering resources that directly impact bottom lines.
We know the challenges aren’t going away. But we also know that this community is defined by action. Whether it’s a new vendor relationship, a shift in digital strategy, or simply showing up at a networking event, Chandler businesses continue to take steps forward.
As we move through 2025, the Chamber Board remains focused on giving businesses of all sizes the tools and visibility they need to grow. It’s a responsibility we take seriously—and a mission we’re proud to carry.

How to add a job
Written by Deborah L. Hardy, Chandler Workforce Development Council Member
Employee wellbeing isn’t just a feel-good initiative — it’s a proven driver of business success. Research shows that when companies invest in the mental, emotional, and physical health of their workforce, they see significant gains in productivity, engagement, and retention.
According to a Gallup report, employees who strongly agree that their organization cares about their wellbeing are 69% less likely to actively search for a new job and 71% less likely to experience burnout. Clearly, when people feel supported, they stay longer and perform better.
So, how can organizations foster wellbeing?
1. Encourage Work-Life Balance
Companies that promote flexible work arrangements see higher employee satisfaction. Harvard Business Review notes that autonomy and schedule flexibility reduce stress and improve performance.
2. Support Mental Health
The World Health Organization (WHO) found that every $1 invested in treating common mental health disorders yields a $4 return in improved health and productivity. Offering access to mental health resources, training for managers, and a stigma-free culture is critical.
3. Promote Physical Wellness
Simple steps like encouraging movement breaks or offering wellness stipends can reduce absenteeism. Deloitte reports that wellness programs can deliver up to a 5:1 ROI by reducing health-related costs.
4. Recognition and Culture
A culture of appreciation boosts morale. A McKinsey study found that nonfinancial recognition can be more effective than bonuses in motivating employees.
Employee wellbeing is no longer a perk — it’s a strategic priority. By investing in your people, you’re also investing in the long-term health of your business. A healthy/well workforce is a winning workforce.

The Chandler Chamber Community Foundation Leadership Institute Class 41 completed another successful issue day! April’s issue day highlighted Government at both the City and State level. The focus of this issue day was to learn about Government programs and services. Class 41 was able to get an in-depth look at the legislative process and how it affects our community as a whole.
The class visited the State Capitol and had a Meet & Greet with State Representatives. In addition, they heard from Chief Justice Ann A. Scott Timmer with the Arizona Supreme Court. After returning to Chandler, they did a Q&A with Chandler City Council. They finished their day with a talk from Maricopa County Supervisor Mark Stewart.

In an era where federal policy impacts business growth it’s important to understand how changes in federal interest rates will affect Arizona businesses, and the broader U.S. economy.
Set by the Federal Reserve (or “the Fed”), federal funds rate are used by banks when they lend each other money. These rates determines the rate range based on factors like inflation, economic growth or decline, and unemployment rates, among others.
When inflation is high, the Fed may raise interest rates. Higher interest rates make loans harder to get and reduce consumer spending while lower interest rates allow businesses to expand their operations or invest in new personnel and equipment.
As of April 2025, the current interest rate range is between 4.25% and 4.50%. Tariffs can drive up costs for both businesses and consumers by making it more expensive to produce goods, which makes everyday products less affordable.
Should tariffs further increase these costs or inflation grows as a result, the Fed would likely change their rates to reflect these economic shifts.
The Federal Reserve meets multiple times throughout the year to discuss potential changes to interest rates, though it is uncertain whether current economic conditions will lead them to raise or lower these rates.
Goldman Sachs, one of the United States’ largest investment banks, predicts that the Fed will lower interest rates three times throughout 2025.
As the U.S. economic landscape evolves under new federal policies, the Chandler Chamber will monitor changes to keep our members informed about adjustments to the federal interest rates.

I am proud to share that the Chandler City Council has approved a resolution to place a $475 million general obligation bond package on the ballot for voters to consider during a Special Election on November 4, 2025.
The bond election outlines investments in transportation, public safety and quality of life, key pillars that support our community’s thriving business environment and ability to attract talent and private development.
We have a strong track record of prudent financial management and planning. Most importantly, this bond proposal is designed and intended to maintain Chandler’s current property tax rate flat, reflecting the city’s ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility.
The bond proposal was developed with insights from a 31-member Resident Bond Exploratory Committee over a five-month period to address key areas:
-Streets and Transportation ($183 million): Update infrastructure to keep streets safe and improve traffic flow for residents and commerce.
-Parks and Recreation ($158 million): Upgrade existing parks and recreational facilities that make Chandler an attractive place for families.
-Fire Services ($88 million): Modernize equipment and facilities to ensure effective emergency response.
-Police Services ($46 million): Support technological advancements and facility improvements to bolster public safety.
More than 70 percent of Chandler’s capital projects have been historically funded through bonds. This approach enables the city to build and maintain the infrastructure that supports our growing population and dynamic economy.
As we look to the future, this bond proposal is a strategic step to ensure Chandler remains a vibrant, safe and prosperous city. I encourage all residents and business leaders to learn about these proposed projects and participate in the upcoming bond election. For more information on the proposal, please visit chandleraz.gov/bondelection.
By Dino Watt, CSP
For Dino and Shannon Watt, owners of Absolute Pain Relief in Chandler, Arizona, chiropractic care represents both a professional path and a deeply personal journey of healing.
With a background in massage therapy, Shannon has firsthand experience with the transformative power of holistic care, while Dino built his expertise as a consultant to private healthcare practices for over 15 years, even authoring a book on practice culture and communication in 2015.
Their commitment to chiropractic healing was reinforced through personal health challenges like when Shannon developed severe knee pain several years ago, a chiropractor with naturopathic expertise provided the comprehensive treatment she needed when traditional approaches fell short. Later, after Dino tore his meniscus, he endured a year of debilitating pain, trying numerous expensive treatments—from specialized injections to stem cell therapy—without success.
Drawing on their personal and professional experiences in chiropractic care, they chose to purchase Absolute Pain Relief, an established practice where they could help others overcome physical pain and limitations. They serve the diverse local community, from athletes seeking peak performance to families in need of wellness care.
“Living in Chandler, we’re blessed with amazing weather that allows for yearround outdoor activities. We don’t want pain to prevent anyone from enjoying everything our beautiful community has to offer.” Shannon explains.
The Watts’ mission at Absolute Pain Relief is clear: to help people overcome physical limitations and pain, enabling them to embrace an active lifestyle and enjoy the exceptional quality of life that Chandler offers year-round.
Willard Thompson has been appointed executive chef of the resort’s highly acclaimed food and beverage department with a focus on menu innovation and enhancing guests’ experiences at the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort’s six dining venues.
In his new role, he’ll utilize his vast expertise at creating innovative menus, overseeing operations, maximizing team performance, and managing multi-million-dollar annual sales to lead the culinary vision for the property. Thompson plans to continually develop new menus that are fresh, on trend, and appeal to all palates and budgets –creating memories with food that all can enjoy.
Prior to joining the We-Ko-Pa culinary team, Thompson served as national director of culinary for Drive Shack, Inc., where he led back-of-house operations for 17 golf entertainment venues and oversaw culinary operations for 40 traditional golf courses under the American Golf Corporation. Before that, he was promoted from executive chef to regional chef for Topgolf USA, where he created menus and achieved approximately $60 million in annual food sales while overseeing procurement, inventory and relationship management at their seven venues.
By Karina Wollangk
Founded by the heart behind Down to Get Tacos, Karina Wollangk brings the rich flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine to her beloved town of Gilbert, Arizona. What started as a lifelong dream to open a restaurant became a true calling during one of the hardest moments of my life the sudden loss of my income at the height of the pandemic. With nothing but a love for bringing people together and a deep passion for creating soul-stirring, nostalgic flavors, I decided it was time to take a leap of faith.
I packed my bags and traveled through the small towns of Mexico, searching for the perfect taco one that could capture the same feeling of warmth, love, and connection that food has always brought to my life. I listened, I learned, and I cooked alongside incredible locals, blending their wisdom with my own family’s treasured recipes to create what would become the DTG Tacos menu.
DTG Tacos started humbly just me, a Walmart tent, and a camping stove setting up wherever I could. Every event, every late night, every early morning was built with the help of my loved ones and the amazing support of our community. Together, we poured heart and soul into growing what DTG Tacos is today: a true family affair.
Through DTG Tacos, I’ve learned that the first step is the hardest but with passion, hard work, and a little faith, dreams really do come true. With every taco we serve, my hope is to transport you to a place that feels like home surrounded by the people you love most.
Because at the end of the day, who’s not down for that?

On April 3rd, 2025, SteelFab Inc. and the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) unveiled Arizona’s first American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Steel Sculpture. Created by EVIT students and designed by SteelFab, the sculpture showcases various structural steel connections, serving as a handson teaching tool for steel fabrication. SteelFab supplied the steel and processed the materials, ensuring EVIT students had the resources to succeed. The sculpture is now displayed prominently at SteelFab’s plant, marking Arizona’s 199th AISC steel sculpture.
SteelFab Inc., a third-generation, family-owned company founded in 1955, is one of the largest steel fabricators in the U.S., with 17 offices and 15 facilities across 12 states. The company is committed to improving communities through its operations, as reflected in this collaborative project with EVIT.
EVIT is a public technical school offering career training in trades like Welding, preparing students for industry careers. Their welding program equips individuals with various welding techniques and industry knowledge.
The Topping Out Ceremony marked the completion of the sculpture, with EVIT students installing the final beam, a tradition in construction. The event brought together SteelFab employees, EVIT staff, local officials, and community members, highlighting the collaboration between industry and education. SteelFab’s dedication to Arizona’s future fabricators was evident, with the company’s mission to support the next generation of professionals in the structural steel industry.

The mission of our company is to help employers provide the best quality healthcare to their employee at reasonable costs. We work with the idea that the employee should be able to see his or her doctor with a nominal out of pocket cost and that the doctor will be available virtually or in person as needed. Our system of direct primary care medical professionals typically saves the business 20 to 30% of the costs that their group medical plan incurs.
The emphasis of our plans is to help the employee enjoy a healthy life and become a better employee. In addition, our years of experience in this field allows us to build programs that help reduce costs and maintain low premiums.
Chandler Chamber Ambassador are highly visible volunteers in the East Valley business community. Ambassadors mentor new members, assist in recruiting and retention efforts, and volunteer at Chamber functions such as Ribbon Cuttings, Networking Events and the Ostrich Festival.
