Terri Kimble President | CEO
As 2024 comes to a close, the Chandler Chamber remains your trusted source for business-forward events.
Nowhere is that stronger than our annual Meet The Elected Officials breakfast on Friday, January 10, 2025. Our fireside chat will recap last year’s legislative impact on Arizona businesses, and each elected official in attendance will share what they intend to accomplish in the coming months.
This breakfast also marks the official release of our 2025 Legislative Agenda, with free physical copies available at the event.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025 the East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance (EVCCA) and PHX East Valley Partnership are pleased to host Governor Katie Hobbs for the 23rd Annual East Valley Breakfast with the Governor.
Governor Hobbs will discuss her vision for the State of Arizona in 2025 and beyond, and will respond to attendees’ questions about her legislative priorities.
Finally, the Chandler Chamber, Gilbert Chamber, and Queen Creek Chamber will be hosting a Tri-City Economic Update on Thursday, January 16. This snapshots growth over the past year, featuring speakers from all three East Valley cities.
From all of us at the Chandler Chamber, we wish you a warm holiday season and a happy new year. We are excited to continue our partnership with you in 2025, and for many years to come.

Studies presented by Harvard Business Review, HuffPost, & University of Arizona all come to one conclusion: women do a lot of work that goes unnoticed.
You’ll see it at home, with meal planning, appointment scheduling - the works - but that invisible workload’s in the office, too, as women undertake activities that boost company culture without a direct benefit to their own careers.
At this month’s Women In Leadership luncheon, hear from life coaches & industry veterans. They’ll help you avoid one big holiday burnout & set you on a stronger professional path.

In the United States, it is estimated that over 129 million people suffer from at least one chronic health condition. It is expected that this number will continue to increase over time. Chronic illnesses are long-lasting, progress over time, and while symptoms can be treated, these conditions are often incurable.
Understanding chronic health conditions is challenging. The definition of a chronic illness is broad and can vary. Some chronic health issues can be easily observed; however, there are many chronic health conditions that are less apparent. For example, autoimmune diseases, mental health conditions, and cognitive disorders are not observable to the naked eye. Chronic illnesses can also be fluid. People can go through periods of time where their illness is worse (“a flare”) and periods of time where they feel relatively normal (“remission”). What a flare up looks like, how often it occurs, and treatment can vary from person to person; and even change over time.
Chronic illnesses can impact the labor market. Employees may be less productive when trying to cope with chronic health issues, may be hesitant to request help from their employers, and may struggle to find balance between managing work with getting the health care they need.
Given the diversity of chronic health conditions that exist and the impact it can have on the workplace, how can we best support people with a chronic illness? Here are a few recommendations:
(1) Promote resources that are available to employees (e.g., wellness programs, employee assistance program, or other community resources)
(2) Ensure that employees are aware of their health benefits
(3) Develop a workplace culture that prioritizes personal wellbeing
(4) Train managers on how to support employees with chronic health conditions
(5) Consider how flexible work arrangements can be used to complete job requirements

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is opening up TPT License Renewal season early to give eager businesses the opportunity to renew early and move on with operations. Letters and emails are being sent to businesses to announce the opening of the renewal cycle for 2025 TPT licenses.
The due date to renew a TPT license is January 1, 2025, and licenses are valid for one calendar year, from January 1 through December 31. Even if a business licenses late in the calendar year, they still must renew it for the new year. Failure to renew, or renewals received after January 31 will incur fees and/or late penalties.
State law requires taxpayers with multiple business locations to renew their TPT license electronically (A.R.S. § 42-5014).
If you do not see the renewal option on AZTaxes, you may have not linked your user account to your TPT license or the primary user has not given you access to renew the license. See AZTaxes User Access for more information on primary and delegate users.
New for the 2025 renewal season, TPT licenses that only have residential rental (business code 045) on their account are set to be automatically canceled effective January 1, 2025. (Laws 2023, Chapter 204 and A.R.S. § 42-6004 (H)). Therefore, the TPT license (residential rental only) will not be renewed for the 2025 calendar year.
Out-of-state businesses without a physical presence in Arizona must renew their TPT licenses if they have more than $100,000 in sales to Arizona customers in the current calendar year.
Marijuana excise tax licenses are not required to be renewed, but marijuana TPT licenses must be renewed each year.
For more information and frequently asked questions, visit the TPT License Renewal page.

Business attraction and expansion as well the growth of educational and workforce development programs have made key contributions to our community. The partnership with the Chandler Chamber and its members continues to be foundational to the success we’ve experienced in 2024.
Chandler was named Arizona’s most innovative city, best city for foreign direct investment and among the top five places to live in the Southwest. Our community was thrilled to welcome Chandler’s first Trader Joe’s location and the exciting play offered at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games. Vacant spaces at Chandler Fashion Center will soon be reactivated with the opening of Round1 Bowling & Arcade and Seafood City Market.
Comtech relocated its corporate headquarters to Chandler, Saras Micro Devices opened its new headquarters and manufacturing center, and Penn Foster Group opened its Arizona Center of Excellence. D.R. Horton purchased a new office space and will open its division headquarters this coming spring. Turbo Resources is constructing a massive expansion of its Uptown Chandler location and Fuse Flex Space opened a new coworking and co-warehousing space in the Chandler Airpark.
ACT Medical Park opened, offering cutting-edge medical and research imaging that advance the region’s healthcare through medical research and patient care. Wedgewood opened a state-of-the-art veterinary pharmacy to meet the growing demand for highquality veterinary medications locally and across the western U.S.
Our schools and supportive business environment offer a lifestyle that empowers individuals and families to flourish. Workforce development programs, higher education degrees and career and technical education programs connect companies and job seekers, creating career pathways that align with our local industry needs.
The University of Arizona expanded its Chandler degree programs, launching a Master of Science in Business Analytics and partnering with Chandler Unified School District to create a semiconductor manufacturing technical education program. We also worked with Chandler Unified School District and Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) to create a scholarship fund to help up to 25 eligible high school students attend CGCC.
The coming year holds new opportunities and challenges, and we are confident that, together, we will continue to thrive and contribute to the prosperity of our community. Wishing you a Merry Christmas, a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
This milestone reflects the dedication, hard work, and passion of the entire school community—students, teachers, staff, and families.
Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers have been nationally recognized for its dedication to patient safety and specialty care in two recent rankings.
The two hospitals earned “A” ratings by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog which evaluates how well hospitals across the country perform in more than 30 patient safety performance measures, in its fall 2024 survey.
“Patient safety is and has always been a top priority for our hospitals, and we are very proud of our team members who remain committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients,” said Mark Slyter, president and CEO of Dignity Health East Valley.
In addition to Leapfrog’s patient safety recognition, Mercy Gilbert has also been nationally commended as a leader in cardiology by Healthgrades, a company that provides information about hospital and health care providers to help patients make decisions regarding their care.
Arizona State University (ASU) invites local businesses to play an active role in creating a more sustainable Southwest through the Southwest Sustainability Innovation Engine (SWSIE) Workforce Challenge.
Through the SWSIE Workforce Challenge, participating organizations can access free online sustainability courses designed by ASU’s top experts. These courses offer Arizona businesses the chance to upskill employees in essential areas like ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting, sustainable supply chains and urban climate resilience — skills critical to meeting evolving industry demands and increasing regulatory requirements.
By participating in the SWSIE Workforce Challenge, organizations can support regional sustainability goals while strengthening their competitive edge. As Arizona’s economy and job market evolve toward greener practices, businesses have the chance to lead in emerging sectors and meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions. With three award tiers tailored to different business sizes, the program empowers organizations of all kinds to build a future-ready workforce skilled in sustainability, positioning them as leaders in both economic growth and environmental responsibility.
How to participate in the SWSIE Workforce Challenge:
1. Head to the website to learn more. Encourage your organization’s talent to sign up for courses and boost your team’s sustainability skills.
2. Enroll in courses: Partner organization employees can access SWSIE Portfolio courses for no cost.
3. Compete to win: The partner with the most employee enrollments through 11:59 pm on January 31, 2025 will win one of twelve SWSIE Sustainable Workforce Awards. The winners will be announced no later than February 15, 2025.
