20 Years of Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir

Welcome Dear Member, Welcome to December and the official start of winter.

I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying all your public television stations have to offer – on-air and online.

The holiday season is upon us and, if you’re looking for gift ideas, Passport – our streaming video service – is a wonderful benefit available with a yearly membership to ThinkTV or CET. Our programming in December features an encore presentation of Season 1 of the heart-warming Masterpiece series, All Creatures Great and Small. Season 2 will premiere in January. On December 13th, celebrate 20 Years of Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

A Charlie Brown Christmas airs on December 19th at 7:30pm on CET and ThinkTV16. Finally, Call the Midwife returns with its 2021 holiday special on December 25th!

December Highlights 20 Years of Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir December 13 at 8pm on ThinkTV16 and CET December 25 at 9pm on ThinkTV14 Due to the 2020 COVID-10 pandemic, The Tabernacle Choir’s plans for its annual live Christmas concert were sadly scuttled. But now, combining forces with Tony-Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, the Choir is back with a unique celebration of its 20-year Christmas tradition that features artists Kristin Chenoweth, Kelli O’Hara, Sesame Street’s The Muppets and more!

All Creatures Great & Small Season 1 Repeats December 12 through December 26 at 9pm and 10pm on ThinkTV16 and CET Before the premiere of Season 2 this January, watch the first season of the beloved adaptation that follow James Herriot’s adventures as a veterinarian in 1930’s Yorkshire.

The Nutcracker and the Mouse King December 14 at 9pm on CET and ThinkTV16 This film is a re-imagination of the classic Nutcracker story, featuring the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and narrated by Alan Cumming. Performed for the first time over 150 years ago, The Nutcracker is a classic play that is still performed around the world during the holiday season.

Call the Midwife 2021 Holiday Special December 25 at 9pm on ThinkTV and CET Christmas 1966 promises to be a memorable one. The Nonnatus House team is faced with their busiest Christmas Day ever as the Maternity Home is filled with expectant moms and challenging cases. Luckily, Mother Mildred is on hand to help support the team.

POV “Unapologetic” December 27 at 9pm on CET December 30 at 10pm on ThinkTV16 After two police killings, Black millennial organizers challenge a Chicago administration complicit in state violence against its Black residents. Told through the lens of Janaé and Bella, two fierce abolitionist leaders, the film is a deep look into the Movement for Black Lives.

In addition to looking at the women’s activism taking place in Ohio before Seneca Falls, Let Ohio Women Vote explores a much longer timeline for all women to achieve ballot access in the years after 1920, and the role that Ohio played in making that happen.

Station News APT Shows Now Available to Passport Members In case you missed the news back in August, hundreds of episodes of American Public Television (APT) shows are now available with Passport! Shows have been available for Passport members since September 1, but now even more shows and episodes have been added! Watch episodes of America’s Test Kitchen from Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country, Rick Steves’ Europe, The Best of Painting with Bob Ross and more now with ThinkTV Passport or CET Passport. Passport is available to station members that donate at least $5 a month or at least $60 a year.
