Grantchester on Masterpiece Season
Our production crew is hard at work, actively filming for a new season of The Art Show, airing this September. The upcoming season’s features includes Ohio Heritage Fellow Sujatha Srinivasan, known for her expertise in the Indian classical dance, Bharatanatyam.
Sujatha began dancing at six years old in Chennai, India and has studied with several gurus, performing across the world. When she moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1990s, she found herself in a region that was not as familiar with her craft and she became a teacher to enlighten her new community. Today she has taught more than 400 students the foundations and technical skills of Bharatanatyam, while connecting the cultural and spiritual context.
The Art Show follows Sujatha’s journey of keeping the art and culture of Bharatanatyam alive. The production crew traveled north to film her recent performance at the 45th Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival in April, which is the largest Indian classical music festival outside of India.
As you await the new season premiere, tune in to previous episodes of The Art Show on Saturdays at 6pm on CET and Sundays at 5:30pm on ThinkTV16, or watch on demand on the PBS App. Learn more at thinktv.org/theartshow/.
AES Ohio is focused on improving lives by delivering greener, smarter energy solutions to 539,000 customers in West Central Ohio, and ThinkTV is grateful for their commitment to investing in the communities in the utility’s 24-county service territory. We are honored to have Brian Hylander, General Counsel for AES Ohio and the US Utilities on ThinkTV’s Board of Trustees, where he has served since 2020.
The AES Ohio Foundation, established in 1985, has supported ThinkTV for nearly 20 years and is focused priorities in our community including employment readiness, health and human services, and the arts. In 2024, the Foundation added urgent community needs as a priority area to address challenges with eviction and access to affordable workforce housing.
In 2024 and 2025, the Foundation awarded Think TV and CET a “Power Grant” for Brick by Brick: Solutions for a Thriving Community. This program uses “solutions journalism” to showcase positive stories about local collaborations and innovative housing solutions. Episodes include topics including housing crisis response, adaptive reuse, and modular builds.
Season one’s broadcast episodes are available on the PBS App:
• Using Data to Respond Before a Housing Crisis
• Housing Choice Vouchers Re-Framed
• Supply-Side Solutions: Housing Types
• Housing Solution: Adaptive Reuse
• Preservation: Saving the Housing We Have
• ADUs, Container Homes, and Modular Builds
On behalf of our viewers and all of us at ThinkTV and CET, we extend our sincere gratitude to AES Ohio and the AES Ohio Foundation for supporting public media and making programs like Brick by Brick a reality. We encourage you to watch uplifting episodes in the multiyear program that highlight housing solutions that change lives.

Since October 2024, 10 CET and ThinkTV staff members have made monthly, volunteer visits to our kindergarten and first grade Adopt a Class classrooms at Hays-Porter, an elementary school in the West End of Cincinnati. During these visits, we share various books and hands-on activities that not only introduce students to different careers, but also help them develop skills like communication and collaboration. We also always bring a snack for the students.
At the end of the school year, we hosted a field trip to CET for our Adopt a Class students. Our kindergarten and first grade friends visited our station to learn about public media and what it takes to create and produce a show, from writing a script to constructing a set. After presenting media examples from our local production, $martPath, a local puppeteer shared her expertise about the craft and modeled how our various puppets work to the students.
The students then broke into groups and rotated across stations. These included getting to stand behind the camera, learn about the technology of green screens, and more. The visit ended with lunch and everyone left with a goody bag containing a book and PBS and CET swag.
The Adopt a Class program is just one of the ways that we support our local school systems. We recently shared information about CET and PBS at Cincinnati Public School’s Here for Kids 22nd Century Conference,
designed to showcase how the school district is working to advance education and equip students for success in an ever-changing world. We also visited Pleasant Hill Academy to talk to 4th-6th grade students about various careers in public media, and attended Seven Hills Neighborhood House’s annual Easterland event to provide family engagement opportunities. You can always find education resources online at CETconnect.org/education.
Patti is a new member of ThinkTV from Vandalia, Ohio, inspired to donate for our commitment to quality, commercial-free programming. She sees public television as a rational, refreshing space amid the stress and uncertainty surrounding our democracy. Our programming reminds her that people are more alike than not, and that we can find shared joy in many ways despite our political differences.
Patti watches PBS programming every day if she can. She loves that it allows her to learn and expand her perspective – something especially valuable for those with busy lives and little opportunities for travel. She also appreciates that the programs are repeated several times, so she doesn’t have to worry about missing anything she might enjoy. Patti said that PBS Passport is her “home-away-from-home” for on-demand access whenever she is away.
One PBS personality who has inspired Patti is Mr. Rogers. She said she deeply respects his early vision of television for children, and loves that his work touched so many lives in a positive and loving way. Her daughter once traveled to Pennsylvania just to see his home.
Some of Patti’s favorite PBS programs include This Old House, Antiques Roadshow, Samantha Brown’s Places to Love, Finding Your Roots, NOVA, FRONTLINE, Seaside Hotel and All Creatures Great and Small, as well as programming from Rick Steves and Ken Burns. She loves how these shows lift her out of her tedious, everyday routine and transport her to new places, sparking ideas that inspire her to explore and think further on her own. “Is that why they call it ThinkTV?” she asked.
We are all guilty of saying, “I’ll do that later.” This is especially easy to do when talking about your estate plan, but we can help ensure your plan is in place for your loved ones. Join us at the CET Studios Thursday, July 10, for an interactive estate planning seminar.
Attendees will be treated to lunch starting at noon. The seminar begins at 1pm, followed by an interactive Q&A panel discussion. Attendees will also receive a digital and/or printed estate planning guide for personal use. If you are unable to join us in-person, there will also be a virtual option for the event.
Whether you are just getting started or looking to update your plan, learn from the best experts in the fields of law, tax and finance who are also members of the CET/ThinkTV Planned Giving Committee:
• David Bross, Truepoint Wealth Counsel
• Adonis Caneris, U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management

Dr. Doris Bergen was the epitome of lifelong learning, inspiring and encouraging others to be their best. She was the first in her family to attend college. At age 42, after raising three daughters, she went back to earn her PhD in Educational Psychology.
Dr. Bergen was a steadfast contributor to CET for 34 years. She was a professor of Educational Psychology at Miami University, and an expert in studying and creating ways to strengthen brain development in young children. She retired at 85, and was working on yet another book until her passing at 91.
Dr. Bergen included CET amongst the two dozen charities she included in her estate plan. Her gift ensures that CET will continue to offer educational resources free for all: from our youngest viewers to lifelong learners like herself.

Stephanie will guide you, step-by-step through the baking process, sharing her favorite tips to get that perfect texture and flavor every time. It’s the kind of recipe that’s as fun to make as it is to eat! New episodes drop every other Monday on YouTube.
