Poker Run to Paso Robles Annie Cross writer
W
e set off early for the first Freedom Run Rally on Saturday June 12th to meet riders at the first sign in spot, this run took a lot of planning and was finally here. Richard was contacted several months ago regarding a run to Paso Robles Casino, since the pandemic there have been very few events or runs in the last year and the timing was right for Richard to make a great run happen. Richard was able to coordinate riders from Bakersfield, Tulare and Fresno Counties to meet up at the James Dean Memorial site and ride over to Paso Robles representing the Central Valley.
a needed break for everyone, some shade, good conversation and lots of laughs were shared. We had a good crowd, cars were honking in support of the run, that was really cool to see people waving and hollering at us.
We had 45 bikes by the time we left James Dean Memorial site, so traffic control was dicey, but we got back on the road and riders in the wind for the last leg of the run. We arrived at Paso Robles Casino which is right off the highway and easy to get to, the band was set up and the barbecue smelled delicious.
