Poker run to
Paso robles
Annie Cross WRITER We set off early for the first Freedom Run Rally on Saturday June 12th to meet riders at the first sign in spot, this run took a lot of planning and was finally here. Richard was contacted several months ago regarding a run to Paso Robles Casino, since the pandemic there have been very few events or runs in the last year and the timing was right for Richard to make a great run happen. Richard was able to coordinate riders from Bakersfield, Tulare and Fresno Counties to meet up at the James Dean Memorial site and ride over to Paso Robles representing the Central Valley. We arrived at Keyes Mobile Truck and the bikes immediately started arriving, early day and it was still cool weather, so everyone seemed excited to ride on to Lemoore. We met up with David Ross and James Ramirez who were signing up riders from Lemoore, Springville and Tulare, there was a good crowd in the parking lot of the Chevron gas station on 19 ½ Ave in Lemoore. It was a quick stop and then we were back on the road again. Traffic was a bit of a bitch, but we made it without any problems to the next stop which was at the James Dean Memorial site in Chalome, there we met up with Haley Morain who led the group of about 20 bikes from Bakersfield and the South Valley and it was getting warm so the stop was a needed break for everyone, some shade, good conversation and lots of laughs were shared. We had a good crowd, cars were honking in support of the run, that was really cool to see people waving and hollering at us. We had 45 bikes by the time we left James Dean Memorial site, so traffic control was dicey, but we got back on the road and riders in the wind for the last leg of the run. We arrived at Paso Robles Casino which is right off the highway and easy to get to, the band was set up and the barbecue smelled delicious. The Paso Robles Casino offers card tables and a full-service bar, it is really a nice place and great location. We got our booth set up and raffle tables 50/50 and everyone participated especially with the grand prize raffle being a 3 day stay at Sturges Buffalo Chip, that was a really popular raffle item. The food was awesome, the service was great and seemed like everyone was having a good time including the staff of CC Biker. The raffle was a big success with awesome prize baskets and the grand prize winner was really surprised and excited to win, it was a great time with lots of good memories being made. We here at CC Biker and the owner/operator of the Paso Robles Casino are planning to make this an annual event so be
