What’s On at Cobram AGS

The Official Newsletter of Cobram Anglican Grammar School

A word from the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

I trust this edition of ‘What’s On’ finds you all well.

Despite the shortness of this week much has continued to take place at our school.

Yesterday our VCE Vocational Major students conducted the Colour Run which was a wonderful success. The students did a magnificent job organising the event and the students fully enjoyed the festivities.

VCE exams have kept rolling on and will do so into next week. I wish our students all the best with their remaining exams.

Looking further ahead to next week, we have the F-2 swimming program at Barooga ARC, Year 5/6 camp to Canberra, Year 1/2 activities and sleepover at school for the Year 2 students, plus Year 10 and 11 exams.

As you can read and see, there is much happening across next week and into the final weeks of the year Let’s continue to work hard and support each other.

With regards, Keith.

Colour Run Brings a Splash of Joy

On Thursday afternoon our oval was alive with vibrant colours and the kind of infectious energy only a colour run can inspire! Students across all year levels came together to celebrate community spirit in this event organised by our awesome VCE Vocational Major (VM) class.

Under the guidance of Ms Doyle, the VCE VM team dedicated countless hours to bringing this event to life From planning the course to ordering the colourful powders, every detail was meticulously arranged to ensure a fantastic experience for participants and spectators alike. We commend the VM students for delivering such an inclusive and engaging event which was a wonderful reflection of our school spirit.

We also wish to thank our Parents & Friends group for supplying Zooper Doopers to students after the event – a perfect way to cool down after an afternoon of activity and fun!

Thank you to all who participated, organised, and supported this unforgettable highlight in our school year!

Class of 2024: Our Inaugural Project Ready Graduates!

A huge congratulations to our Year 10 Project Ready students who officially graduated from the work-readiness program today! To mark this occasion, our graduates and their families gathered for a fantastic afternoon to celebrate a year of hard work, personal growth, and community impact.

Everyone enjoyed watching a video package filled with memorable moments captured throughout the year, reminding the graduates of the fulfilling journey they have been on. The program wouldn't have possible without the amazing community partners and businesses who supported our Project Ready students this year by showing them the career pathways they offer or by allowing them to reach their volunteering hours!

A special mention to Christine Osborne from Cobram Community House who spoke glowingly about the students' impressive work in enhancing the community garden, a project that showcased their dedication and care for our community

It would be remiss us not to thank our two Project Ready facilitators in Jade Drew and Sharonlee Parker who guided the students through the program. Considering this was the first year we have offered Project Ready at our school, it will no doubt only get better as we refine the program.

Our 2024 Project Ready graduates are: Bonnie Bugge, Elijah Everingham, Ella Michelotti, Ethan Greatorex, Evalee Royston, Gracie Rice, Hunter Iskov, Jeremy Packer, Joshua Edwards, Leah Willis, Mason Hazelman-Smallwood, Sam Dean and Savannah Kernaghan.
