multiple attractions in the same space One of the most remarkable attractions of the Extra Hotelier Company Palmares in Varadero is, without doubt, the Josone Park. This retreat, founded in 1942, is a peaceful garden of about nine hectares, where we can find a great variety of trees and flowers. There’s also a natural lagoon in its center, which is why the park is considered the main green space in Varadero. Since its establishment in the early 40’s around the Laguna de La Paz, it was envisioned that the gardens played an essential role to embellish the environment
and combine harmoniously with the neoclassical architecture of the private residence of its original owners. In the beginning it was the home of the Iturrioz-Mendez family, who were its first inhabitants in the middle of the last century. The first house was built of stonework and tiles to be used as a dwelling, and is currently occupied by the Dante restaurant; a place specialized in Italian food and with amazing feedback among diners.
