But who can imagine a beautiful Caribbean coastline without a refreshing cocktail, an aphrodisiac combination which includes the famous Cuban rum among its ingredients? The rum that Cuban Maestros Roneros have preserved for centuries, always renewing the exquisite taste that brings, down the throat, the feeling of enjoyment. When it comes to nature, Cuba is a nation that rewards those who choose ecotourism. Full of admirable landscapes and offering magnificent experiences in Biosphere Reserves, Natural Parks and Ramsar sites, there are many options that reveal the Cuban nature, among them: bird watching, hiking, horseback riding, rural tourism and scuba diving. And for Premium Cigars lovers, the Habano Festival returns to Havana, an opportunity to learn about new products and enjoy the pleasure of a soft cigar puff... Geografía: Ubicada a la entrada del golfo de México, el archipiélago cubano está formado por la isla de Cuba, la Isla de la Juventud y aproximadamente 4,195 cayos e islotes. Cerca de 140 km la separan las Bahamas; 77 km Haití; 180 km de Florida; 210 km Cancún y 146 km de Jamaica.

La silueta de Cuba, alargada y estrecha, alcanza los 120 km de longitud y entre 32 y 145 km de ancho. En total el territorio abarca 110.922 km, lo que la distingue como la mayor de las Antillas y por su ubicación geográfica la llaman también la llave del Golfo.

Temperatura promedio anual: 25º Celsius (77 º Fahrenheit).

Geography: Located in the Caribbean Sea, the Cuban archipelago includes the Island of Cuba, the Island of Youth – Isla de la Juventud – and approximately some 4,195 keys and islets. Its nearest neighbors are: the Bahamas, 140 Km (to the north), Haiti; 77 Km (to the east); Florida, US, 180 Km (to the north); Cancun, Mexico, 210 Km (to the west) and Jamaica, 146 Km (to the southeast). Verde y prometedor, como lo catalogara el reconocido escritor Ernest Hemingway en su obra «Islas en el Golfo» – fascinado por su extraordinaria hermosura – la ínsula encanta con una asombrosa flora y fauna, cuantiosa y diversa, y el alto grado de conservación de sus ecosistemas marítimos y terrestres. Manglares, cocoteros y abundante vegetación distinguen el seductor paisaje, habitado por curiosas especies como iguanas, pelícanos y donde las colonias de flamencos rosados regalan a los visitantes una impactante escena.

Sin embargo, en este inigualable paraje natural despunta un tesoro inmenso, salado y turquesa: es el grandioso entorno marino que lo rodea. La connotación de paraíso cobra sentido al vislumbrar las idílicas y tranquilas Playa de El Paso y Playa del Medio, pero sin lugar a dudas, destaca una que deslumbra ante las mágicas aguas verdeazuladas, cristalinas, cálidas y poco profundas que besan con serenidad la amplia franja de arenas blancas y finas. Se trata de Playa Pilar y figura entre las más hermosas de Cuba.

Desde la cantina nacional, se apuesta también por esta tendencia creciente. Así se evidenció en los cócteles presentados durante el Festival Internacional Varadero Gourmet, icónica cita gastronómica que en su edición 12 acogió a destacados exponentes del arte de la barra en el país. Gustosas elaboraciones artesanales de Vermuts, Campari, Curacao Rojo, jarabes, bitters, tés y perfumes, a partir de productos cubanos, destacaron en el evento. La incorporación de frutas deshidratadas, plantas nativas y medicinales, así como el máximo aprovechamiento de los insumos, dieron muestras del quehacer actual y la creatividad de los bartenders de la nación caribeña cuando de sostenibilidad se trata.

The local bars are also betting on this growing trend. This was evidenced in the cocktails presented during the Varadero Gourmet International Festival, an iconic gastronomic event that in its 12th year welcomed outstanding bartenders in the country.

Tasteful traditional productions of Vermouth, Campari, Red Curacao, syrup, bitter, tea and perfume, based on Cuban products, stood out at the event. The use of dried fruits, native and medicinal plants, as well as the optimization of supplies, showed the current work and creativity of the Cuban bartenders when it comes to sustainability.

Mediante técnicas novedosas y la fusión de tradición y modernidad, la mayor exquisitez de sabores, aromas y sensaciones resulta del empleo y combinación de recursos cubanos, ingredientes de proximidad y amigables con el medio ambiente. De esta forma, desde una óptica sostenible, sustentable y rentable se originan deliciosas y creativas mezclas que deleitan y emocionan a quienes las degustan. Tragos en los que resaltan el buen sabor, colorido, equilibrio y sorprendentes contrastes tienen su génesis en este concepto ecológico. Un evento esperado por los adeptos al buen fumar está por suceder en La Habana. La vigésimo tercera edición del Festival del Habano, evento internacional consagrado a los Puros Premium, se celebrará del 27 de febrero al 3 de marzo del este 2023. Una vez más, Cuba rinde honores al delicado gusto de quienes conciben la relación con el habano, como un arte placentero que conduce al mejor de los éxtasis posibles.

Como parte del programa, el evento contemplará visitas a plantaciones de tabaco, emblemáticas fábricas de Habanos, seminarios, concursos y tres especiales noches para conocer las novedades de Habanos, S.A.

An event awaited by the followers of good smoking is about to take place in Havana. The 23rd Habano Festival, an international event devoted to Premium Cigars, will be held from February 27 to March 3, 2023. Once again, Cuba honors the delicate taste of those who consider the relationship with cigars as a pleasurable art that leads to the best possible ecstasy.

As part of the program, the event will include visits to tobacco plantations, emblematic Habanos factories, seminars, contests and three special evenings to learn about the latest Habanos, S.A. products.

De dónde son los Habanos

El tabaco es oriundo de América del Sur y llegó a Cuba a través de las migraciones indígenas que arribaron a la isla hace miles de años. Los aborígenes cubanos eran grandes consumidores de tabaco. Los españoles al conocerlo, quedaron rendidos ante su aroma, gusto y efectos embriagadores y en posteriores viajes, lo llevaron a otras partes de Europa. Ahora, Pinar del Río, la más occidental de las provincias cubanas, es la tierra del mejor tabaco del mundo. Allí se cultivan las plantas que dan lugar a los prestigiosos habanos, hechos totalmente a mano.

Where the Habanos are from Tobacco is native to South America and came to Cuba through the indigenous migrations that arrived on the island thousands of years ago. The Cuban natives were great consumers of tobacco. The Spanish settlers were captivated by its scent, taste and intoxicating effects and in later trips, they took it to other parts of Europe. Now, Pinar del Río, the westernmost of the Cuban provinces, is the land of the best tobacco in the world. It is there where the plants that give rise to the prestigious handmade Habanos are grown.

Don Fernando Ortiz, importante intelectual de la cultura y las tradiciones cubanas, manifestó de una manera convincente y poética, el modo en que el habano, se abrió paso entre los hombres, posicionándose, sin preferencia de estatus o culturas: «El tabaco tuvo siempre arrogancia; fue gala de conquistadores de Indias, luego camarada de navegantes en sus travesías del mar; de soldados veteranos en remotas guerras; de indianos enriquecidos, de magnates infatuados, de negociantes opulentos, y llegó a ser estímulo y signo de todo hombre capaz de comprarse un goce individual y ostentarlo, retadoramente, contra los convencionalismos sofrenadores del placer».*

Don Fernando Ortiz, an important intellectual of Cuban culture and traditions, expressed in convincing and poetic words, the way in which the Habano made its way among humankind, positioning itself, regardless of status or culture: “Tobacco always had arrogance; it was the garnish of conquerors of the Indies, then the comrade of navigators in their sea voyages; of veteran soldiers in remote wars; of enriched Indians, of infatuated magnates, of opulent businessmen, and it became the stimulus and sign of every man capable of buying an individual enjoyment and flaunting it, defiantly, against the refraining conventionalisms of pleasure.” *

El placer es relativo, pero hablar de Puros Habanos es evocar una experiencia totalmente deleitable. Los habanos son reconocidos como los más sobresalientes puros Premium hechos a mano, del orbe, debido a una triple condición que los distingue y les propicia su excelente calidad: los suelos, el clima y la vasta experiencia de los productores cubanos.

Nuevamente, Cuba invita a esta fiesta de linajes. ¡Bienvenidos! Desde ya, siéntase convidado y ceda ante el hechizo que el aroma del habano produce en la memoria. Al decir de Don Fernando Ortiz: «el tabaco va, picarescamente, paladar arriba hasta los meandros craneales en busca del pensamiento». Una vez allí, despliega, con certera delicadeza, el éxtasis total.

Habanos are recognized as the most outstanding handmade premium cigars in the world, due to a triple condition that distinguishes them and propitiates their excellent quality: the soil, the climate and the vast experience of Cuban producers.

Un informe publicado en el sitio Scidev. net, resalta cómo la estrategia de vacunación cubana, podría afrontar crisis sanitarias similares a la COVID-19 en países en desarrollo.

Dicho informe es resultado de la visita oficial a Cuba de un equipo de investigadores estadounidenses encabezada por el doctor Michael Osterholm, director del Centro de Investigación y Políticas de Enfermedades Infecciosas de la Universidad de Minnesota.

Los expertos opinan que el modelo de inmunización cubano podría revelar oportunidades para reducir las desigualdades mundiales en el acceso a las vacunas y otras innovaciones sanitarias, y consideran que deben ser enfrentadas las barreras que bloquean el acceso mundial a las innovaciones biotecnológicas de la Isla.

U.S. scientists highlight Cuban vaccination strategy

A report published on the Scidev.net website highlights how Cuba's vaccination strategy could face health crises similar to COVID-19 in developing countries.

The report is the result of an official visit to Cuba by a team of U.S. researchers led by Dr. Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

The specialists believe that the Cuban immunization model could reveal opportunities to reduce global inequalities in access to vaccines and other health innovations, and consider that the barriers blocking global access to the Cuban biotechnological innovations must be challenged.

This award, granted by decision of a Council of Experts in Belarus, the first country in Europe to register the Soberana Plus vaccine, recognizes the social impact of the Cuban vaccines, the novelty of their innovation and the repercussion in other countries.

Soberana 02 is the first and only conjugate vaccine that is authorized for emergency use, especially in children, and Soberana Plus is the first booster vaccine accredited in the world for adult and child convalescents.

For 25 years, the National Program of Cochlear Implants has been developed, multidisciplinary and totally free; it has a great appreciation in the world, it has given priority to children with multiple disabilities among which is deafblindness, and to date it has successfully performed 528 implants.

Settled definitively in 1519 next to the bay, being a port of transit and supply for the Spanish fleet was a fact that contributed to its siege by pirates and freebooters. El Castillo de la Real Fuerza fue la primera fortaleza amurallada que se levantó en América. Convertida en museo, protege y exhibe varias colecciones de piezas, junto a imágenes y réplicas de embarcaciones de la época colonial. En ella, todo es atractivo: sus paredes, su foso, su puente de madera, sus baluartes, sus bóvedas y cañones, su historia y hasta sus leyendas. Una de ellas relacionada con el amor, dio como resultado uno de los símbolos de La Habana: La Giraldilla. Y allí, en la torre campanario, inmortalizada en bronce, la enamorada vigila la bahía.

A la Real Fuerza le siguieron el Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta y el de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro, cuyas construcciones se iniciaron a final del siglo XVI. Ambas en su momento fueron por su posición, las más importantes del sistema defensivo de La Habana, para impedir el acceso a la rada citadina.

Defensive castles

Castillo de la Real Fuerza was the first walled fortress built in America. Turned into a museum, it protects and exhibits several collections of pieces, along with images and replicas of ships from the colonial period. In it, everything is attractive: its walls, moat, wooden bridge, bastions, vaults and cannons, its history and even its legends. One of them, related to love, resulted in one of the symbols of Havana: La Giraldilla. There, in the bell tower, immortalized in bronze, the lover watches over the bay.

The Real Fuerza castle was followed by Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta and Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro, the construction of which began at the end of the 16th century. Both were at the time, due to their position, the most important of the defensive system of Havana, to prevent access to the city’s bay.

En la actualidad, San Salvador de la Punta resguarda entre sus muros coloniales, el Museo de la Marinería. Sus bóvedas interiores exhiben hallazgos y botines de naufragios pertenecientes a los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII; restos e imágenes de los pecios que han sido encontrados en las costas de Cuba y otras evidencias de época.

El Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro, ubicado en la ribera este del canal de entrada al puerto se ha llevado la preferencia entre las fortalezas coloniales, por su pétrea belleza convertida en símbolo de la ciudad. Posee tres baluartes, un profundo foso y dos baterías: Los doce apóstoles y La estrella, convertidos en restaurantes donde se puede degustar comida internacional y cubana, con una excelente vista al mar.

El faro del Morro ilumina las noches habaneras y sirve de guía a cuanto navío se aproxima a la costa de la capital. Desde su altura se aprecia La Habana, conmovedoramente extensa y seductora, ante la mirada curiosa de quien pretende conquistarla.

Currently, San Salvador de la Punta has within its colonial walls the Museo de la Marinería. Its interior rooms exhibit findings and booty of shipwrecks belonging to the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries; remains and images of the wrecks that have been found offshore Cuba and other evidences of the time.

Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro, located on the eastern side of the entrance channel to the port, is the most popular among the colonial fortresses because of its stony beauty, which has become a symbol

of the city. It has three bastions, a deep moat and two batteries: Los Doce Apóstoles and La Estrella, turned into restaurants international and Cuban food can be enjoyed with an excellent view of the sea.

The Morro lighthouse illuminates Havana’s nights and serves as a guide for any ship approaching the coast of the capital. From its height Havana can be admired, vast and seductive, before the curious eyes of those who intend to conquer it.

Su fisonomía es de esas que influyen, del modo más a apasionado, en el sincretismo arquitectónico que define a la capital de Cuba. Recorrerla, a través de sus adoquines de piedra, es una evocación a siglos pasados. Todo en ella encanta y entusiasma. Su génesis fue discreta pues cuando aún La Habana era una pequeña y caprichosa ciudadela amurallada, la hoy famosa Plaza de La Catedral, no era más que una plazuela a la que acudían los pobladores en busca de agua.

Plaza de la Catedral: Havana, colonial and baroque

Constantly visited by Cubans and tourists from all nations, the beautiful Cathedral Square, with its baroque charm, continues to be a magnificent place to begin a tour of Old Havana. Its appearance is one of those that influences, in the most passionate way, the architectural syncretism that defines the capital of Cuba.

Walking through its cobblestones is an evocation of past centuries. Everything in it enchants and excites. Its genesis was discreet because when Havana was still a small and whimsical walled citadel, the now famous Cathedral Square was nothing more than a small square where the inhabitants went in search of water.

El siglo XVI la vio nacer, siendo por entonces un espacio pantanoso donde quedaban retenidas las aguas de lluvia, en su recorrido hasta la bahía, por ello su nombre inicial fue Plaza de la Ciénaga. Pero como todos los sitios destinados a despuntar y asumir un lugar relevante en la vida de una urbe, esta plaza tenía designada su buena ventura. Próxima al mar -medio imprescindible para el desarrollo de la ciudad- y elegida en principio, por la Orden eclesiástica de los Jesuita para levantar su templo, religión y sociedad hicieron de ella el símbolo que es hoy.

Convertida La Habana en cabecera de Diócesis, la entonces Parroquial Mayor erigida en el siglo XVIII, pasó a servir como Catedral y el espacio que se extendía ante ella, fue bautizado como Plaza de la Catedral, hoy parte importantísima del Centro Histórico de la ciudad, avalado por la UNESCO como patrimonio mundial. Entre sus construcciones más espléndidas sobresale la Catedral de La Habana, el más fiel exponente del barroco en Cuba, su fachada cincelada en piedra trasmite a quien la contempla un movimiento constante. Describirla no es suficiente, nació para ser admirada con detenimiento.

Según el escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier, esta extraordinaria edificación es música esculpida en piedra. Además de sus actividades litúrgicas y sus valores arquitectónicos, la iglesia posee un interior espléndido y sus notorias obras de arte aumentan su valía, entre ellos se encuentran óleos del artista francés Jean-Baptiste Vermay, frescos del italiano Giuseppe Perovani y lienzos de la Virgen de Loreto, bendecida por el obispo Morell de Santa Cruz en 1755, y de la Virgen de la Purísima Concepción, Patrona de La Catedral.

It was born in the 16th century, being at that time a swampy space where rainwater was retained on its way to the bay, hence its initial name was Plaza de la Ciénaga (Swamp Square). But like all places destined to emerge and assume a relevant spot in the life of a city, this square had its good fortune. Close to the sea -an essential means for the development of the city- and chosen in principle by the Jesuit Ecclesiastical Order to build its temple; religion and society made of it the symbol it is today.

When Havana became the head of the Diocese, the then Parroquial Mayor, built in the 18th century, became the Cathedral and the space before it was baptized Plaza de la Catedral, today a very important part of the Historic Center of the city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Among its most splendid constructions stands out the Havana Cathedral, the most faithful exponent of baroque in Cuba, its facade chiseled in stone transmits to those who contemplate it a constant movement. It is not enough to describe it; it was born to be admired in detail. According to Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, this extraordinary building is music sculpted in stone. In addition to its liturgical activities and architectural values, the church has a magnificent interior and its notorious works of art increase its value. Among them are oil paintings by French artist Jean-Baptiste Vermay, frescoes by Italian Giuseppe Perovani and canvases of the Virgin of Loreto, blessed by Bishop Morell de Santa Cruz in 1755, and of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the Cathedral.

Plaza de la Catedral: habanera, colonial y barroca

Su adoquinada explanada, que fuera escenario de fiestas, ferias y mercados comunitarios en los añejos siglos XVI y XVII, fue codiciada por hacendados y comerciantes con títulos nobiliarios, quienes levantaron en sus alrededores, fastuosos palacetes de doble planta, con prominentes portales, amplios salones y patio interior. Así, muchas familias de abolengo, entre ellos los Marqueses de Aguas Claras, los de Arcos, los de Lombillo, aportaron a la plaza la apariencia arquitectónica tan maravillosa que hoy se disfruta.

La construcción de lujosas mansiones dotó a la plaza de vida propia, cada casona con historias sorprendentes. La primera de las viviendas fue la casa del conde Bayona, justo al frente de la catedral, su

propietario fue uno de los gobernadores militares de Cuba, Don Luis Chacón que casó a su hija con el primer conde de Casa Bayona, de ahí el nombre del palacete, donde radica hoy el Museo de Arte Colonial.

Otra de las más vetustas casonas de la plaza es la del Marqués de Arcos, que atesora entre sus valores, la más acabada pieza de herrería de toda La Habana colonial y que sirve de adorno a su imponente balcón. La casa del Conde Lombillo, a continuación de esta, sobresale por su sobriedad y en su amplio pórtico, destaca, recostado a una de sus imponentes columnas, la estatua de Antonio Guedes, el reconocido español, bailarín de flamenco, entrañable amigo de Cuba.

Y para finalizar este recorrido por la más barroca de las plazas habaneras, se impone una invitación; un alto en el transitar por la bella plazoleta capitalina: el restaurante El Patio, una verdadera joya constructiva donde sobresalen su monumental portal y sus coloridos vitrales que le dan al interior una suerte de cálido recinto tropical. Allí, el tradicional arte culinario cubano satisface el gusto de sus comensales que se sienten, además, acogidos cual nobles señores, en lo que fuera durante el siglo XVIII la Casa de los Marqueses de Aguas Claras.

Venga pues, el visitante ávido de historias y secretos a desandar una plaza colonial y barroca, tantas veces recreada por cronistas, poetas, grabadores. Un espacio con magia, una sinfonía de la belleza urbanística, en el mismo corazón de la Habana Vieja.

Its cobblestone esplanade, which was the scene of festivals, fairs and community markets in the old XVI and XVII centuries, was coveted by landowners and merchants with noble titles, who built in its surroundings, sumptuous two-story palaces, with prominent portals, spacious halls and inner courtyard. Thus, many noble families, among them the Marquises of Aguas Claras, the Marquises of Arcos and the Marquises of Lombillo, gave the square the wonderful architectural appearance that is enjoyed today.

The construction of luxurious mansions gave the square a life of its own, each mansion with surprising stories. The first of the houses was the house of Count Bayona, right in front of the cathedral, its owner

was one of the military governors of Cuba, Don Luis Chacón who married his daughter to the first Count of Casa Bayona, hence the name of the mansion, where today the Museum of Colonial Art is located.

Another of the most ancient mansions of the square is that of the Marquis of Arcos, which treasures among its values, the most finished piece of blacksmithing of all colonial Havana and that serves as an ornament to its imposing balcony. “Pa’ que fluJazz” (For you to Jazzflow) to the thrilling rhythm of a free and smooth blend of sounds, the International Jazz Festival Jazz Plaza 2023 will be held from January 22 to 29.

«Pa' que fluJazz» al ritmo de un género que emociona ante la libre y armoniosa mezcla de sonoridades, llega del 22 al 29 de enero, el Festival Internacional Jazz Plaza 2023.

En su edición 38, llevará a las hermosas ciudades de La Habana y Santiago de Cuba, el arte de prestigiosas figuras del panorama jazzístico cubano e internacional.

En este sentido, representantes de países como Estados Unidos, España, Alemania, Colombia, Reino Unido y Canadá compartirán la escena con reconocidos artistas nacionales.

Con la música como epicentro, el Festival comienza a lo grande.

La jornada inaugural comprende las presentaciones del guitarrista argentino Dominic Miller junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional y de la agrupación rumbera Los Muñequitos de Matanzas celebrando su aniversario 70. Inician así, espectaculares jornadas de conciertos donde el talento de sus exponentes se traduce en sonidos distintivos, sorprendentes improvisaciones y melodías que, desde los instrumentos, envuelven y seducen.

The 38th festival will bring the art of prestigious figures of the Cuban and international jazz scene to the beautiful cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba. In this regard, representatives from countries such as the United States, Spain, Germany, Colombia, the United Kingdom and Canada will share the stage with renowned Cuban artists. With music as core, the Festival kicks off in a big way. The opening day includes performances by Argentinian guitarist Dominic Miller with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional and the rumba group Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, which celebrates its 70th anniversary. This is the start of spectacular days of concerts where the talent of its performers results in unique sounds, surprising improvisations and melodies that, coming from the instruments, are captivating and fascinating.

Entre las actividades colaterales, destaca el Coloquio Internacional “Leonardo Acosta in memoriam”, que este año rinde homenaje al aniversario 90 del natalicio del destacado investigador, escritor y musicólogo cubano. De igual forma, celebra la obra de Bobby Carcassés, Ernán López-Nussa y del Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de la Música Cubana. Para ello, acoge conferencias, talleres, clases magistrales e intercambios con estudiantes y profesionales del género. Asimismo, se realizará el encuentro para la industria Primera Línea, que propone showcases e intercambios con gestores, consumidores y difusores del jazz, así como profesionales de la industria de la música en el mundo.

La cita musical propone, del 22 al 26 de febrero, emocionantes jornadas de conciertos, talleres de baile, espectáculos variados, excursiones y sorpresas. Un especial programa en torno a este género que, en el país, supone una fascinante y creativa fusión de sonoridades con el distintivo sello cubano, fruto de géneros nacionales confluyendo con otros del continente.

The musical event proposes, from February 22 to 26, exciting days of concerts, dance workshops, varied shows, excursions and surprises. En las instalaciones turísticas cubanas y otras unidades de servicio, los precios están fijados en pesos cubanos (CUP). Se aceptan las tarjetas de crédito siempre que NO sean emitidas por bancos estadounidenses ni sus sucursales en otros países.

El visitante a nuestro país debe poseer un pasaporte vigente y la correspondiente visa o Tarjeta de Turista. Se exceptúan los países con los que Cuba mantiene convenios de libre visado. Las Tarjetas de Turista pueden solicitarse antes las representaciones consulares cubanas. También en las agencias de viajes y líneas aéreas.

Al llegar a la aduana, se entiende por turista aquella persona no residente permanentemente en el país, independientemente de su nacionalidad, que entre al mismo por razones de placer, negocio, salud, deporte, por un período mayor de 24 horas y menor de 6 meses.

Los turistas podrán importar sus efectos personales, los que entran al país como una admisión temporal; libres del pago de derecho de aduanas y deben ser reexportados a su salida.

EL TURISTA PUEDE EXPORTAR: Hasta veinte (20) unidades de tabaco torcido sueltos, sin necesidad de presentar ningún documento. Hasta cincuenta ( 50) unidades de tabaco torcido, con la condición que estén contenidos en el envases originales, cerrado, sellado y con el holograma oficial establecido, exigencias sin las cuales no se autoriza la exportación.

Cantidad en exceso de cincuenta (50) unidades de tabaco torcido, las cuales no pueden exceder el valor de los 5,000.00 CUC, deben presentar la factura de venta oficial expedida por la red de tiendas autorizadas a comercializar tabacos torcidos cubanos, correspondiente a todo el tabaco torcido que intenten extraer y que necesariamente tiene que estar contenidos en envases originales, cerrados y sellados y con el holograma oficial establecido. Las cantidades de tabaco torcido en exceso de las cincuentas (50) unidades que no sea declarado por el viajero y cualquier cantidad que exceda lo declarado, o que habiéndose declarado no se acredite su adquisición lícita mediante la factura de venta oficial o los envases no posean los atributos y demás exigencias que lo identifican como tabaco torcido cubano, dará lugar al decomiso.

De igual forma podrá llevar hasta 3 botellas de licor y 200 cigarrillos, souvenirs o recuerdos de su estancia en el país.

For any amount exceeding fifty (50) units of twisted tobacco and not exceeding 5,000 cuc, tourists must provide official sales invoice issued by any of the stores authorized to market Cuban twisted tobacco, corresponding to all the tobacco to be exported and packed in their original containers, closed, sealed and exhibiting the official established hologram.
